  1. Ancelotti jumps from Everton to Real Madrid.
  2. Is it fair to remove the away goals rule and yet keep the 'seeding system' in which seeded teams in the first round of knockout stages (last 32) now always host the second legs? I won't be surprised if that is soon brought in for qualifiers, Last 16, quarter finals etc
  3. Maybe not the support as a whole, but potentially the mindset of the people who make the videos?
  4. Two loathesome clubs but for whatever reason I was rooting for chelsea. In my head at the moment, Man City's corrupt owners currently seem to be worse than Chelsea's Good to hear Havertz say 'to be honest I don't give a fuck' when asked some banal question by the BT sport guy
  5. Brentford finally win a playoff final and are promoted to the top english division for the first time since 1947. Ex Dons GK Woodman gave away a penalty for the first goal which was score by Ivan Toney who seemingly the Tic didnt think was worth it instead signing Ajeti from West Ham for 4.5million - 6 goals in 30 games (Griffiths managed 7 goals in 26 games) Brentford signed Toney from Peterbrough for 5million (rising to 10million with add-ons) - 32 goals in 51 games Seen Brentford play at Craven Cottage, and Loftus Road but never got to see to see them play at Griffin Park (had a ticket but the game was cancelled due to Covid). I'd like to think one day I'll get to see them play at their new stadium
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57286931 Away goals rule seems destined to be scrapped. Personally I think the rule is one of the better things UEFA has ever come up with but anything which gives even the slightest chance their 'favourites' can be knocked out by some upstart diddy club doesnt score well with the shareholders and sponsors etc
  7. Villareal win the Europa League on Penalties Believe that's St Johnstone guaranteed a Europa Conference Group place and at least £3million now
  8. Just leaves the Dons, Tic & Motherwell as the only teams who have managed to stay in the Premier Division since I took an interest in football. I'm wondering if Killie might go the same way as Falkirk or Partick Thistle and possibly drop down to the 3rd tier at some point
  9. Until they get the 3rd I won't relax
  10. Technicality English Championship season doesnt finish til playoff final so watford are still a championship team
  11. Hope I'm wrong but I reckon Dundee have blown it.
  12. Winners are no longer guaranteed european football till christmas or £3millionSeems they will enter the Europa league '3rd' qualifying round' rather than the playoff round unless Chelsea win the champions league and finish in the top 4 of the EPL, or Villareal win the Europa League and finish 5th or 6th in La ligaThey do have the advantage that winning their Europa league tie will guarantee them a place in the conference league but lose it and they go into the 3rd qualifying round of the con league.
  13. Deflection mode engaged. 'Well we wanted to have 4 parties inside ibrox each with 10000 fans but you said no and look what happened.......so its your fault a '"small minority" of 15000 caused chaos in the city centre for the second time in 2months.'
  14. Killie into the Premiership playoff against Dundee. I really hope Dundee don't bottle it like Falkirk did several seasons back. Don't go to many games but used to always make a bit more effort for away trips to Dens
  15. Precedent has been set now. Underfunded police scotland have failed to stop it twice so I wouldnt be surprised if this sort of thing becomes an annual occurance from both sides of the OF. The 'these aren't true SEVCO fans' bullshit defence is a tad weak when 3000+ show up. SEVCO can claim all their like they 'did their best' to stop it, but if that was the case they could have A) Installed gates to side streets around Ibrox on Friday B) Paid for a Security fences to be installed on the street outside the Main stand. The street is already closed for maintenance so this could have been constructed fairly quick. C) Paid a large sum to Police scotland to close surrounding streets to non essential traffic D) stopped their players running to the corner gates to wave to the fans outside after they won the title in March. Perhaps this is the point where the football clubs do become legally responsible for the actions of their supporters. Your fans smash up a town centre, or another clubs stadium- Bill is sent to the club with 'price doubles if not paid within 14days - extra money goes to grass roots sports, and 3 points automatically deducted, and/or a cup-tie forfeited.
  16. Think i'd be the one picking that up given you were far too optimistic 58 - Elgindon 57 56 - Stephen Glass 55 54 - Tom_Widdows
  17. The spectre of Nick Blackman looms large
  18. Nobody wins for the second season in a row DantheDon has to look after the title again Rules: 1. One name per points tally for the season, first come first served! 2. Only allowed to change prediction until closure of January transfer window as along as it is to an empty tally. 74 - MBT 73 72 71 70 69 68 - danthedon 67 - RicoS321 66 - Manc_don 65 64 - Wee Toon Red 63 62 - BigAl 61 60 - Jute 59 58 - Elgindon 57 56 55 54 - Tom_Widdows (fourth place & European football guaranteed) 53 ------- Previous Champions: 2009-10: Dave_min (41 points) 2010-11: BigAl (38 points) 2011-12: Snapper (41 points) 2012-13: Tyrant (48 points) 2013-14: 2014-15: Dandy (75 points) 2015-16: Dandy (retained due to no correct scorer) 2016-17: Rico (76 points - Flawless Victory. Nothing questionable about it at all) 2017-18: Tom (73 points) 2018-19: DantheDon (67points) 2019-20: No winner - DantheDon retains title following an independent inquiry
  19. Was it not the case fans were aware there was a chance they wouldnt be allowed back into the stadiums for the full season and the season ticket sales were seen as a way of helping keeping the teams alive? If so then it isn't fraud. Whilst it is a noble gesture by Motherwell, whether or not it is a good business decison will remain to be seen. Will their fans be happy if suddenly there is another lockdown and Fir park remains completely empty for another year with the club ending up in administration again?
  20. Seen a suggestion that had everyone who voted for an SNP candidate for their constituency had then chosen Green in their list vote, the SNP would have ended up with 63 seats (1 less) but the Greens would have ended up with something like 35-40 most of which would have been snatched from the Tories.
  21. Lib Dems fall even further into obscurity. There was something on the radio coverage about needing at least 5MSPs to be automatically involved with several important parts of the Scottish Parliament. Anyone happen to know the details? In other bullshit, Douglas Ross takes on his 2nd part time political role, so now he can not bother turning up to votes & debates in both Holyrood and Westminster whenever theres a football match he fancies running the line on.
  22. I've no idea but the look on his coupon on the BBC website brings out the schadenfreude
  23. And he did and increased his majority. Labour second also with an increase vote share with the Tory in 3rd and Lib Dem in 4th. Turnout 58% which is 8% higher than last time but still shite. Sturgeon wins her seat so Im not sure what that means for Anas Sarwar. Presume he has a chance of getting in as a 'list' MSP but if not it will be another classic by Scottish Labour. What is entertaining is if the result are accurate, so far Salmond's lot have not recieved a single vote (25 of 129 called)
