  1. The London HQ of the British Army is at Clapham Junction
  2. Personally I reckon the rattled look is more to do with him suddenly realising what being the leader (supposedly) of a country actually means. Nothing like this has happened in my lifetime and the closest thing in living memory will have been the 2nd world war as that resulted in pain and suffering of UK citizens not just the soldiers in a far off land. A simple movie quote that comes to mind is the scene between the Janitor and the Teacher in the Breakfast club 'Aw bullshit, man. Come on Vern, the kids haven't changed, you have! You took a teaching position, 'cause you thought it'd be fun, right? Thought you could have summer vacations off and then you found out it was actually work and that really bummed you out. This prick like so many others who have gone into politics in my lifetime did it for the powergrab and the fact he didnt actually have to do anything as long as he played the character. No matter what he did he would be OK as he was 'in the club' Now suddenly the hundreds of civil servants who have looked after him (and Cameron, and Blair) and made sure the place didnt go to shit havent got the answers, the 'club' is at serious risk of vanishing in an economic meltdown, and now its up to him and his immediate cronies to stand up and lead and protect the voters. And when the shit hits the fan the person with the big personality and no substance gets fucked The boring ones who have the guts and intelligence to actually make difficult decisions quickly whether they are popular or not are what you need but for so long this country (and so many others) have voted for the prick who shouts loudest and has the best soundbites. I wonder what Gordon Brown, or John Major would do if they were in Johnson's position? I'd like to think this will be a wake up call for everyone in the way our society has gone but I doubt it.
  3. Opportunity to switch to summer football. Restart the season in September/ October and have the scottish cup final on St Andrews day. New season starts in March 2020 Doesnt answer the question of european places but who knows if that will happen next season?
  4. In a world where money is no object and Planning regulations dont apply
  5. Liverpool just taken to the cleaners on their own patch.
  6. Not to mention the impact it is having on pollution what with China shutting down lots of factories, streets of several major cities seeing significant decrease in number of vehicles, and of course the number of poeple cancelling their holidays abroad. I might start getting worried when the nurses & paramedics I know start to act concerned but then again I might not. After all Im contributing to the destruction fo the planet just by living my current life so should Death/ Mother nature see fit to have another crack at taking me down and actually succeed this time (7th times a charm) then so be it.
  7. Tic away it is then

  10. Man City banned from European football for next 2 seasons. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51510284 Wonder if that means Guardiola will be offski? Also will they now turn their attentions to a certain team in blue on the South side of Glasgow?
  11. In terms of damage down to the team it certainly wass the most 'expensive' signing. I was probably naive when I first heard the Winters rumours to think it would mean a Winters & Dodds Strike Partnership (which with my limited football knowledge i think would have been great) so it was a real punch in the guts to find out Dodds was shipped out only a couple of weeks after he had scored a hat trick in the cup at Caley Thistle, and the promplty scored a hat-trick on his debut for the Arabs. Alex Miller :hammer: :hammer:
  12. WeeToonRed and Rico both knocked out. 13. Have you ever been to china?
  14. maybe better suited for UFC or WWE as oppsosed to Pub games. Be funny hearing a snooker player walk out to this
  15. A quick peek into the corruption of the Former East german league setup when it comes to Dynamo Berlin might answer a few questions - supposed significant links to the Stasi Dreseden had ties to the East German Police
  16. 17. Last time I can recall a coach concentrating on the dons being the fittest team was a certain Alex Miller. Couple of times there were boasts the entire team could run a marathon. Marathon runners they may have been. A winning football team on the other hand......
  18. Kobe Bryant - 41 Helicopter crash
  19. Not sure what you are getting at with the NTNOCN reference, a programme which is not exactly top of the list when it came to repears on the mainstream BBC perhaps for the reasons you suggest, whereas my first introduction to the Pythons was on Friday nights in the mid 1990s followed by borrowing videos of the films. I believe the first time I actually saw NTNOCN was on UKgold, a channel with a name that either breaches the Trades description act, or is sadly all too accurate. I'd say its more likely the snowflake generation would welcome the Pythons if they started now as the humour is surrealist. The Mighty Boosh is the only 'modern' programme I can think of that followed a similar premise. The Not the nine o clock news lot may claim credit for the alternative comedy malarky but there are plenty of comics from around about the same generation who will disagree. Mark Steel certainly has some things to say about the hypocracy of Ben Elton and co.
  20. Funnily enough it some of it 'wasn't allowed' back then The film you quoted was still actually banned from cinemas in certain parts of the UK until 2008. Theres alot being said about the snowflake generation in terms of being 'too pc' but a quick look at what is considered acceptable in films and TV now compared to the even the mid 90s and its alot more tolerant and open than reported especially when it comes to questioning religion. Have you seen any calls for the pythons etc to be banned by the snowflakes? What has (or was) been disappearing is the blatant racism, misogyny etc which was considered wholesome family entertainment however I suspect that will soon return to the screens given the current political climate.
  21. Initial budget was £71million with large chunk of that being underwritten by Brentwood's owner. Probably get a tidy sum from selling the old stadium for housing too. Seems to have been a fairly smooth construction so they may scrape in under the £100million mark in the end.
  22. Since its gone a bit quiet on the new stadium front here is a video of Brentford's new stadium which they will share with London Irish Rugby club . Supposed to be finished about March and have a capacity just over 17000 (About 5000 more than their old ground). im hoping to go see a game at their old ground before they move at the end of the season.
  23. Given they are saying 'limited' tickets available is it the case the South stand & RDS upper will be closed?
