  2. Doesn't sound like the Lowland League are going to expand to make 18 teams although they do perhaps have the option of a quick post/ pre season tournament between Broxburn Athletic & Penicuik Athletic who missed out on promotion in the original playoffs

  4. I watched the 2006 Final in the pub before an 8hr shift Can't say I'm surprised to hear a Mac student struggling to handle the Kiwi Football lifestyle

  7. Bolton Players go on strike so their game against Brentford has been postponed. Interesting to see how the EFL (and/or FA) respond to this given Bolton are already relegated and have been dodging winding up orders for a while now.
  8. Rocket clinging on 82 - DownSouthDon 81 80 79 - EdmontonDandy 78 - Tyrant 77 - OxfordDon 76 - Elgindon 75 - Lencarl 74 - Rico 73 - wee toon red 72 71 - Ten Caat 70 - Manc 69 - BigAl 68 - MBT 67 - DantheDon 66 - kennyfuckinpowers 65 - Jute 64 - TomW 63 62 61 - rocket 60 59 58
  9. Today just reminded me why I don't rush out to go to games anymore. Clear from a few minutes in that it was the equivalent of the a boxing promotor lining up a selection of amateur fighters to get their prospective heavyweight champ's fitness and hype up to get them their shot at the title. Horrible racist & sectarian language from the guys stood behind me who thankfully vanished the moment the send goal went in which was potentially fortunate for all parties just before the occasional 'big man' voice in my head had managed to convince the majority it was time to confront them about it. The racism/ secterianism has never left society but since the early 90s it was at least kept realtively low key/ secretive but now its creeping back to early 80s levels and moving swiftly back in time. Buckfast and Midori (I think) being openly drunk and bottles tossed into peoples gardens, abuse aimed at the police officers (especially the women). Only 'plusses' for me - Max Lowe and Joe Lewis - Managed to jump on the train back to central from Crosshill rather than having to wait in a queue at mount florida - weather was OKish and its always nice to get out in the 'fresh' air - With the injury situation the squad wont have to start training 2 weeks after the season is over for another pointless european campaign and we get a pre-season league cup campaign
  10. Ross County potentially only 1 win away from the title. Arabs need to beat Ayr on Friday night to keep their slim hopes alive but at the same time Ayr are chasing 2nd spot. At the other end Alloa seem to have got their act together which could potentially see both Falkirk & Partick drop to the 3rd division
  11. Fuck sake dropping like flies now 82 - DownSouthDon 81 80 79 - EdmontonDandy 78 - Tyrant 77 - OxfordDon 76 - Elgindon 75 - Lencarl 74 - Rico 73 - wee toon red 72 71 - Ten Caat 70 - Manc 69 - BigAl 68 - MBT 67 - DantheDon 66 - kennyfuckinpowers 65 - Jute 64 - TomW 63 62 61 - rocket 60 59 58

Would you prefer they skipped to the later incarnations where Captain Marvel is a bloke?
  13. Tyrant and Lencarl bow out (for now). With at least 3 home games from the final 8 Rocket and Jute may have called it right. Top 6 assured though thanks to Motherwell losing. 83 82 - DownSouthDon 81 80 79 - EdmontonDandy 78 - Tyrant 77 - OxfordDon 76 - Elgindon 75 - Lencarl 74 - Rico 73 - wee toon red 72 - Tom_W 71 - Ten Caat 70 - Manc 69 - BigAl 68 - MBT 67 - DantheDon 66 - kennyfuckinpowers 65 - Jute 64 63 62 61 - rocket 60 59 58 57 56 55 54 53 52
  14. Found it slightly surreal driving it today and wasn't going to bother until the signs at Stonehaven suggested it was better for ARI. The slip road at Stonehaven seems like it was an after thought (is this perhaps leftover from the old road layout) but then it was like the footage of when the M1 or M6 first opened. Mile after mile with little or no other cars on either side and little or no sliproads - plenty of emergency laybys tough one of which had speed camera van. The sliproad for Kingswells/ Westhill/ ARI was well signposted but the way it has been constructed I thought I was pulling onto the hard shoulder. Took a detour to see how Kingsford was getting on and had there not been any traffic I may have been done for speeding as last time I drove that road it was a 60mph race track. I probably should use it tomorrow on the way home but part of me wants to see if there is a visible impact on the Brig'o'dee traffic although sunday afternoon/ evening won't really be a good test case. Have any Aberdeen residents noted a reduction in the rushhour gridlock on great southern road during the week or is it still best to avoid it between 430 & 7pm on weekdays?
  15. OxfordDon crashes out but Tyrant lives to fight another day 83 82 - DownSouthDon 81 80 79 - EdmontonDandy 78 - Tyrant 77 - OxfordDon 76 - Elgindon 75 - Lencarl 74 - Rico 73 - wee toon red 72 - Tom_W 71 - Ten Caat 70 - Manc 69 - BigAl 68 - MBT 67 - DantheDon 66 - kennyfuckinpowers 65 - Jute 64 63 62 61 - rocket 60 59 58 57 56 55 54 53 (Top 6 Place guaranteed - yay no relegation!) 52 51
  16. Have to admit how pleased I am to see both Real Madrid and PSG dumped out of europe. PSG in particular given some of the shite being spouted after they won 2-0 at Old Trafford.
  17. Not quite sure how it can be classed as exploiting things. Your teams player stood in the goalmouth completely behind the goalline potentially ends up blocking a shot by their teammate and is now not in a position to have a shot/ header themselves. If they foul or obstruct the goalie its still a foul however by standing 'off the field' they themselves could be blocked in taking them away from the attack and any effort to free themselves from their goalmouth prison would probably result in a freekick to the opposition. Bolton's tactic under allardyce of having a player stood in an offside position as a distraction before a set piece relied on that player being able to run back onside or get out of the way. But its only a theory. i don't know the laws of the game (especially this season)
  18. I believe by standing in the goal (completely behind the goal-line) he would have been classed as 'off the field' and therefore not involved in play. Essentially the same as if he was stood behind the by-line by the advertising boards. Had one of his feet been over the goal-line on the pitch he would have been offside

Thouroughly enjoyed 'Fighting with my family' Stephen Merchant did a good job promoting it on 'the last leg' last friday as I believe it is No.1 at the UK Box office

  21. Yep but 79 points is no longer possible 10wins = 30 points 9wins + draw = 28points
