  1. Quality is a very strong word. 12 years is a long time in football but as I recall he had a couple of good matches (Vs Romanovs mercenaries and the tax dodgers) then pretty much settled back to the usual Standard of the time. Don't recall much fuss when his loan wasn't extended and according to wikipedia he actually quit football for good about 6 years after leaving the dons (in his mid 20s)
  2. Strikers: Anderson - 1 May - 1 Midfielders: MacKay-Steven - 4 Ferguson - 1 Defenders: Shinnie - 1
  3. Strikers: Anderson - 1 Midfielders: MacKay-Steven - 1 Defenders:
  4. Just watching the Anderson goal. What exactly was the Sevco no.6 trying to achieve? Looks to me if he had just stood still the shot would have been blocked but he seems to have decided the shot was going over the merkland roof.
  5. Fuck sake what's happened to the world? waaaaah he said this, I'm offended, how dare you, apologise now, waaaaah Its bad enough professional footballers pretending they have been shot when someone breathes on them without managers turning into primary schoolers through the media. Kevin Keegan springs to mind This and more of this
  6. On the same plane as Batistuta, Klinsmann, Ginola & Taffarel?
  7. And the sharks start circling https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/plans-for-eateries-near-new-stadium1/ Also the PR machine has restarted https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/new-dons-stadium-could-have-positive-effect-on-house-prices1/
  8. Nice when your existing stadium & facilities are on a large site not closely boxed in by public roads and private housing.
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-45052342 And again.
  10. I dont accept the maribor one given Rooney missed a penalty (given despite McGinn putting the ball in the net immediatley after the foul) in the 2nd leg which would have levelled things up. Anyway the Dons matched Burnley over both legs and whilst it would have been sweet to get that 2nd goal in normal time I think this is the first time I feel a sense of pride and say the dons can be gracious in defeat as from what I saw it was a fair square go and I don't recall any controversial moments. Burnely may have had the extra but they know they were in a game tonight. Bonus for me was getting to hear Ferguson's goal on radio scotland, and have enough time to get to the other room to see it go in on the live stream. Onwards to Sunday
  11. Hey Bob. Why is that section of seating in the centre of the away section never occupied? Are those seats knackered?
  12. Nothing to do with defending. Its the midfield that shafted the defence with that one. Giving away cheap possession on the half way line from a dons throw in.
  13. Reserve league supposedly being brought back this season
  14. Can't help thinking of a certain Kiwi who turned up and scored the occasional 'spectacular' goal then went missing for mutliple games
  15. A site is only worth what a developer is willing to pay for it. Mount Florida is OK as is Kings Park but Toryglen is not (or at least wasn't last time I checked). Pittodrie being valued at 15million is based on what developers reckon they could get from converting the site to housing. Houses in Aberdeen cost more than most parts of the south side of Glasgow If the plan is to scrap hampden and spend money on building a new national stadium then as I see it the only way to make it stack up financially would be to demolish Murrayfield too therby emulating the Irish & Welsh and having just one main stadium for all sports (I am discounting Croke park as it is reserved for the Gaelic games). Spend extra on having a running track with retractable seating as well as a retractable roof and yer onto a winner. However moving it outside of the Central belt would not make business sense. A stadium like that would need other sources of income so moving it away from the majority of the populaiton (central belt), the busiest railway stations from (Edinburgh Waverley & Glasgow Central), and the two businest Airports (guess which ones they are) makes it less attractive for concerts etc. Believe I saw an article which said Queens Park would be hit with a bill of about £10million if the SFA left hampden as part of the redevelopment funding had conditions relating to it being used for Internationals and cup finals. It true the discussion of where Queen's park move to could be irrelevant. Personally I am for Murrayfield mainly because it is the largest stadium and to my knowledge has not had 'ends' claimed by any team. I do however disagree on the comments about how good the transport links etc are for it. Hampden at least has multiple roads away from it, is less than 1mile from the M74, and has several surrounding railway stations on the send largest suburban rail network in the UK. Cops can split different groups of supporters much easier Murrayfield was pretty chaotic IMO after the dons game last september. I actually walked about halfway back to Haymarket station down the middle of the A8 which had not been closed to traffic yet was gridlocked because of the fans dispersing. Edinburgh's bus network is very good but does rely on the roads not being blocked by thousands of fans walking back to town. International rugby crowds don't tend to have the 'angry' element which is all too common in club (and international) football crowds so would be interested to see how the cops dealt with that.
  16. As the news reports a Polar Bear being shot on Svalbard because it attacked a cruise ship guard I have to say the biggest annoyance on the planet for me is Humans You want to go walking amongst polar bears in their natural habitat then sign the waiver that says you accept the largest land based predator (and one of only a handful of creatures who consider humans as food) may kill you. But no the fat lazy irritating cruise ship community are now expanding their global pestilance to the more extreme points of the planet and expect it to be Disneyland. Other examples include recent calls from Western Australian govenment officals to cull sharks so humans can 'enjoy the beaches in safety' Farmers and the UK government culling badgers because they allegedly spread Bovine TB. Complaints from people in coastal towns about Seagulls (Tam Cowan on off the ball supposedly joking about hitting them with Tennis racquets and sounding 'hurt' when someone texted in to point out they are a protected species) And of course one of the supposed 'acceptable' legacies of Victorian times - Zoos. Edinburgh Zoo now openly admit they and other zoos essentially 'farm' certain animals which are not endangered (such as the Wallabies) so they can maintain a healthy captive population. Why the fuck Edinburgh Zoo needs to have a chimpanze research lab is a mystery to me.
  17. Will you ask the same question at next year's Women's football world cup? (2015 world cup - 24 Teams but only 7 Female Managers/ Coaches)
  18. League Cup 2nd round qualifiers Dons Sevco Tic Hibs ----------------------- Ross County St Johnstone Dunfermline Ayr United Livingston Motherwell Kilmarnock St Mirren Queen of the South Dundee ------------------------ 2 spots left going to 2 of the following Inverness Caley Hearts Partick Thistle Hearts have to beat Caley or they are OOT!
  19. Motherwell facing elimination from the league cup. 1-0 Clyde at the moment. Stays the same they are out. equalise and they have to hope Caley beat hearts
