Nothing questionable about it at all)
  5. Ice Hockey Style. Would certainly stop this 'The keeper wasn't on the line' or 'they stopped before kicking it' bullshit
  6. Strikers: Storey 1 Midfielders: Christie 2 Mackay-Steven 1 Stewart 1 Shinnie 1 Defenders: O'Connor 1
  7. I've never really paid any attention to what the critics say and personally disagree with several posts on this one but its down to personal opinion in the end. However one band really does stick out for me in terms of the what i consider to have been completely undeserved hype........Travis! I first saw them at TITP 1998 and prior to that I'd only heard a couple of songs on compilations albums but they seemed to be a half decent, fun, indie rock band with tunes you could get a decent bounce to especially on a slightly boozy sunny afternoon in perthshire U16 Girls, Tied to the 90s, Happy etc. Then came 'The Man Who' which for me made Leonard Cohen and Radiohead seem full of Joy. Worse for me was how they suddenly went from afternoon main stage warm up to Main Headliners with lots of teary eyed pre-pubescent girls singing along. I often hear folk complaining of bands with songs that all sound the same but too often I found myself in the minority when I put Travis into that camp.
  8. Ah the wonders of the Construction industry http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40820663
  9. Hearts Match changed to Murrayfield http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40820663
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-40774843 Oh that should be fun for everyone
  11. Hearts lost to Peterhead and Albion beat Hamilton on Penalties Motherwell, Falkirk & Livingston through to the 2nd Round.
  12. Billy McKay off to Ross County (Free transfer from Wigan) Wonder if the Highland air and a proper contract will see him return to the form he had with Caley before he went south?
  13. Seems the Ladies team have the same attitude to the finals as the mens did I predict they will hump the Spanish in the last game only to find out the England v Portugual result makes it irrelevant.
  14. There's something happening here But what it is ain't exactly clear....
  15. Recall watching that game on the BBC with my Dad. Much like Athletico Madrid a few weeks later they were a level (or 2) above the Dons. Also seem to recall it looking really unpleasant to be in the stadium both with the temperature and the antics of the home support. Hope after a decade things are different
  16. Its never a given when its Aberdeen FC playing however yon Cypriots european record from the McInnes Era of the dons is as follows Played 26 Won 9 Drawn 5 Lost 12 Goals for 34 Goals against 39 They have qualified for the group stages twice (Cyprus must have been well ahead of Scotland as they went in at the Playoff stage each time) but finished 3rd and 4th. Only managed to win 2 and draw 1 of their 12 group games and were the whipping boys when they finished 4th - Scored 4 Conceded 18. When the finished 3rd they scored 5 and conceded 10.
  17. Appears they are playing Dinamo Minsk in Minsk on 1st August.
  18. well based on the online ticket page there are less than 5000 tickets left (excluding the traditional away section). Some ex Sevco player saying the dons are underdogs. Personally I prefer that to being favourites
  19. Manc clearly too busy to get this up and running Strikers: Midfielders: Mackay-Steven 1 Stewart 1 Christie 1 Defenders:
  20. That'll be the Hamilton game moved to the Sunday then
  21. For those in Glasgow it is apparently being shown at the Rhoderick Dhu on Waterloo Street (almost next door to central station)
  22. Killie currently 2-1 down at home to Clyde If Clyde Win & Ayr win Killie will be up shit creek and could be knocked out by the weekend. Hearts seemingly toiling at Elgin too
  23. Seems they are discussing moving the African Nations cup to the Summer in the hope it will reduce the number of players refusing to leave their clubs. I know very little about the tournament (last time I watched it was 2010) but I cant help wonder if it may be a bit more successful if they stopped having it every 2 years.
  24. Wright got injured almost immediately and only played a handful of games for them (7 according to wiki). There wasn't really any opportunity to give him stick and going by the success of Sevco's youth programme I don't think that will change anytime soon
