  2. Goalies union on the penalty Looks like a standard free kick to the goalie all day. McDonald comes for the ball and loses it when Maddison collides with him. He does catch maddison as he falls back but free kick should have been awarded before that happened and certainly didnt warrant a yellow card for anyone. I also suspect had McGinn or Rooney been following up and scored with the loose ball Collum would have ruled it out a given killie the free kick. Is Collum perhaps looking to make up for the Hamilton match 2 seasons back?
  3. radio team were heard to say 'collum has been having a fine season...til today'. Shall be interested to see the penalty award and no doubt hear thompson and nevin moan about it

  5. Outside of Glasgow and based on size of the potential crowd it would have to be one of the Edinburgh stadiums or Rugby park (latter of course would be even worse than Hampden) Once you get away from them it would be either Tanndaice (14,209), Fir Park (13,742). Perth would be nice but the capacity hinders it (10,673). Last time a League Cup semi final was held outside of Glasgow or Edinburgh was in February 2000 when a certain Arild Stavrum scored the winner at Dens Park with the dons allocation being just over 5000.
  6. Dont know who the ref is but he looks very nervous. Really not the sort of image you want to give off in a game like this
  7. Seeing claims the evil hordes allocation was cut to 800. Is this true?
  8. Sensible ticket selling would be to shut the BT Scotland stand until all other tickets are sold. (capacity reduced to 34000) Then split the north stand down the middle and sell towards each end, opening up the BT stand as and when required But no doubt the first allocations will be the lower tiers of the BT stand with the North Stand handed to the Dons so whilst the Morton fans may occasionally be heard they wont be seen. Kick off time suggests TV coverage too
  9. So Wikipedia claiming the game will be on the Saturday (22nd) which sets it up for a 3pm Kick Off
  10. Someone at BT sport possibly being sacked for that one....or were they just desperate to guarantee at least 3 OF matches this season? So the match has to be played at a really shit time and place for both sets of supporters. 10am on Sunday 23rd October at Harmsworth Park, Wick seems like a good shout
  11. Stream isn't working but BBC stats say there has only been 1 shot on goal the entire game and that was from St Johnstone. Scottish football at its finest by the sound of it
  12. http://www.donstalk.co.uk/index.php/topic,13607.4820.html Did you really have to post this in the AFC board?
  13. Last one seems to be about the grass roots and possible future of the game There was a clip of Craig Brown on Radio Scotland this morning bemoaning that his proposal to emulate Gerrard Houlier's policy in French football was blocked by the Fido dido's and tribute act as it would 'hold them back in Europe. Found this from November 2015
  14. I fear Stockley has been 'marked' by the Scottish Refs already so his strength will just lead to defenders getting free kicks.
  15. Debilitating illness didn't stop Theodore Roosevelt being president for 12 years
  16. Contrast from last season 2015/16 Played: 5 Won: 5 Goals for: 9 Goals against: 1 Points: 15 2016/17 Played: 5 Won: 1 Drawn: 3 Lost: 1 Goals For: 4 Goals Against: 6 Points: 6 I find myself hitting my head against the brick wall with McInnes and what seems to be a blatant refusal to change anything.
  17. Right has anyone been watching or listening to the game as I only have BBC live text and according to the stats there have been no shots on goal by either team
  18. I only lived in the city for about 6 years but I got the impression the football club was seen as more of an inconvenience. I seem to recall Leeds united having a similar issue with their local council My theory is since Aberdeen is a fairly rich city the ties to 'the working mans game' and possibly any sport will never be as strong. Liverpool on the other hand hand being historically a 'working city' (No laughing at the back) with the shipyard etc (much like Newcastle, Sunderland, Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester) and Football was and possibly still is an escape for the masses and each city recognises the impact a decline in their teams fortunes can have on the population. Aberdeen's success or decline doesn't seem to bother anyone in charge of the city.....but then again the rumours of corruption in ACC beggar belief. The other issue is the Scotland wide problem of the Old Firm Glory hunting magnet. Too many folk born and bred in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth will support one of them with the reason being 'oh its a family thing'. Thank fuck my family didn't have the same 'rule' other wise Id be stuck with Plymouth Argyle.
  19. Dont think u can really compare the two cities in terms of football fanatacism
  20. There is a link in the urban realm article. Should take you straight there

Budge has certainly adopted a much more sensible approach to the redevelopment. Strange (and actually refreshing IMO) is the lack of enclosed corporate boxes. I'll be interested to see how the planners view the loss of the existing car park at the back of the old stand
