  1. Celtic U20s are the only 'premier' team left in now
  2. 12000 seater stadium is simple. Take the design of the RDS including the external concourse and place that on all 4 sides of the pitch within the current boundary lines. 2 sides of the stadium are penned in by public roads and another by new flats. The external concourse areas required to disperse fans in an emergency and still allow clear routes for emergency vehicles on all 4 sides is the hurdle which cannot be cleared without seriously reducing the capacity.
  3. Its been a while since the whole 'Milne is a millionaire therefore he should spend his own cash rather than the company's (AFC) and sign someone'. Personally thought (or hoped) the whole Jack walker-esque sugar daddy days and demands were gone for good but 3 relatively good seasons followed by two 0-0 draws and they seem to be sticking their head above the parapets Few years ago there were stories about an ageing Klinnsman, Ginola or dare I say it Batistuta. Now its Falkirk & Ross County players who eventually reject Scotland for the English 1st division. Club is debt free yes but that doesnt suddenly mean spend spend spend and rack up the debt again. Someone writes off your debt are you the sort of person who immediately buys a new car, new wardrobe, expensive holidays etc etc and puts yourself right back in the red? or are you the type who thinks 'thank fuck the millstone is gone, can buy a few things now but I'm doing my best to make sure that doesn't happen again. £850k on Brian O'Neil £350k on Nigel Pepper £700k + (Billy Dodds) on Robbie Winters £1,000,000 on Paul Bernard £300k on Thomas Solberg As I see it any spare money the club has MUST go on getting proper training facilities and improving the youth academy so we dont have to rely on loan signings and waste time looking (or even signing) rejects from the continent with agents who bleed clubs dry. Whether those facilities come with a new stadium remains to be seen.
  4. Not from what I've seen in last 2 league games Free kick on edge of box = a) High and over bar, b) straight into hands of Goalie, c) Headed away by first defender Corner Kick - Options b & C or d)over the top of everyone and out Someone gets into crossing position in open play = A,B,C,D or E) cross blocked and out for thrown in. Lots of the above with only about 2 ever coming to even a slight chance. Rooney and co cant take chances if the ball doesn't reach them.
  5. Kenny Baker - 81
  6. I know its really early days but it is fun seeing the Arabs hovering above the relegation zone in the 'championship' 1-0 defeat at Dumbarton today
  7. Perhaps it shows how much they rely on Hayes?
  8. Once again the delivery (particularly at set pieces) is shocking. Is this some sort of protest about not having proper training facilities?
  9. End of the day - The first cup win in 2 seasons
  10. Dutch cyclist supposedly in intensive care with 3 separate spine factures Just slightly more serious than the 2 broken collarbones suffered by the Italian Guy the day before
  11. Now conscious apparently Crash on the same descent in the men's race yesterday too. Lot of anger about how dangerous the course is and concerns for the 'time trial' which is on the same route (or at least part of it). Sections of it are actually a cobbled footpath which they have added narrow tarmac lanes to the edges. Incidents so far - Road/pontoon collapsed at the sailing/ rowing venue - 2 crashes in the cycling - 1 broken leg in the gymnastics (ok that could happen anywhere) - Serbian rowers capsized in qualifying. Event now delayed due to high winds - Synchronized diving disrupted by sirens outside the venue and music played randomly within the venue
  12. This is fucking appalling. I don't see Rooney fairing any better if this is the sort of service he can rely on. Only cross which has caused any hassles was Shinnie's which no one gambled on. Gut is saying this has 1-0 saints all over it
  13. Who the hell is taking the 'set piece' training? I've yet to see a corner, thrown in or free-kick cause any hassles for the Saints defence? One of my fears for this season is we end up with multiple strikers but only Hayes & McGinn capable of providing any service. One is already injured and the other hasn't had a summer break
  14. Hasn't really grabbed my attention too much....except for this poor fucker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QclHuNQKFYo
  15. From BBC One word- Bollocks!!! (Extra segregation + unpleasant away fans + unpleasant non-regular home fans+ Games moved for TV) does not equal sell out or even near sell out. I predict the only 'sell out' games featuring the travelling tribute act will be the 1-2 Doncaster Wankfests in Glasgows East End
  16. Be even more gutted if you saw the state of him today. Really sad sight
  17. I dont see why a trip to Ibrox on a midweek night where 3/4 of the ground is shut will suddenly make them say the changes are good for them Anyway much like other premier teams the youth matches are generally played away from the main stadiums Celtic u20s played at Cappielow in the last round Sevco u20s match against Stirling is being played at Forthbank (even though Sevco are the home team) Dons u20s are playing their match at Balmoor
  18. Seems I was getting him mixed up with McGinn.
  19. Well that about sums up the evening. Anyone remember the days when a penalty miss was headline news and yet now supposedly 'lethal' strikers fuck them up fairly regularly. Anyone remember the days when you could actually breath next to an opposition player without the match being stopped and a card shown?
  20. I'd say that's Stockley's card marked for the SPFL season
  21. Unfortunately the new rules state you cant send him off if a penalty is awarded. (No Double punishment) Had the ref not been so whistle happy and let McGinn's goal stand then a red card could have been dished out Rooney has missed quite a few penalties and i had a gut feeling he would bugger it up. Kicking it straight down the middle with no power in such a big match is ludicrous.
  22. Dundalk (Irish Champions) guaranteed a Europa League Group place and are 1 tie away from a Champions league group.
