  2. Anybody cringe at Steven Thompson continually talking over or interrupting Leanne Crichton during Ross County versus Queen Of The South coverage last night?
  3. I live no more than 500 yards from Pat Nevin and in local Co-op last year he noticed me with a Manchester City jacket on and says; "I bet you're loving life under Pep." "When other supporters aren't telling me our success is bought!!"
  4. Between Manchester United's success under Sir Alex Ferguson and what Pep Guardiola is trying to emulate at Manchester City in 2019?? I've followed 'Citeh' since 1989 so have seen some very dark times with being in what is effectively League One nowadays and losing to lower leagues sides during cup competitions but surely them having said money can't be only reason they will succeed long term?

So chuffed where my 60 year old friend Billy is concerned who has been backing horses for nigh on forty years and had his first ever 40p Win Lucky 15 with all four selections winning on Good Friday!!!! Picked Watersmeet (7/1), Global Warning (3/1), Fox Power (7/1) and Oh This Is Us (5/1). The latter only won by three quarters of a length having been second last with just over two furlong to go. Younger brother Brian said Billy had head in hands tutting away but thankful the treble was giving him at least £161 for his six pound stake to crying uncontrollably like an emotional wreck!!!! He then decided rather than cooking tea later that night he'd head up Chip Shop and get them both plus their lodger Wulf dinner there. Apparently stopped at one of the local pubs for a Bacardi and Coke hoping his legs would stop wobbling!!!! His payout was £1,127.60 like.
  6. Just read he was unable to speak in the final few years. Horrible thought. Do folk ever worry about this impact heading said ball might have on our players today no matter whoever they play for??
  7. Have we ever had three men from the opposition sent off in one match??? Can't think from my own 28 years personal experience if same thing has happened before. Saying that thinking about just two opposition players given their marching orders is proving difficult too.
  8. I've just done a quick check on Loan Players we've had in over this McInnes tenure. Shaleum Logan, Alan Tate, Michael Hector (2013) Jeffrey Monakana, Donervon Daniels (2014) Danny Ward, Ryan McLaughlin, Adam Collin, Simon Church, Josh Parker (2015) Wes Burns, James Maddison, Ryan Christie (2016) Freddie Woodman, Chidi Nwakali, Greg Stewart, Dominic Ball, "Kenny McLean", Ryan Christie again!! (2017) Tommie Hoban, Max Lowe, James Wilson, Greg Stewart once more!!, Dominic Ball for another season!! (2018) TWENTY ONE DIFFERENT PLAYERS WHICH IRONICALLY AMOUNTS TO THREE AND A HALF PLAYERS A SEASON BECAUSE SOME OF THEM PROBABLY ONLY HALF A PLAYER IN REALITY!!! I'm not saying this is to blame for anything but when you include below disaster zone also it pretty embarrassing stuff to say the least. Calvin Zola, Gregg Wylde (2014) Scott Brown, Andrew Driver (2014-15) Joe Nutall, Aaron Lennox (2015-16) Jayden Stockley, Anthony O'Connor, Callum Morris, Miles Storey (2016-2017) Greg Tansey, Nicky Maynard (2017-18) Chris Forrester, Stephen Gleeson, Jordan McGregor (2018-19)
  9. Big Al, spoken with somebody at club who informs me his Dryburgh Cup goals are now included in overall tally.
  10. I've just read through Wikipedia that Joe Harper's record of 199 goals in three hundred appearances was 'upgraded' to 205 in three hundred appearances. Can somebody explain why or how this would be if not an idiot being funny and editing his page.
  11. I see Tony Watt is leaving St.Johnstone soon??
  12. Jute, I've just checked said information and I believe he played against Forfar Athletic for St.Johnstone had but he was definitely substitute keeper in all three Final matches. Still an unbelievable record no matter what said stat does read.
  13. I somehow came across the below stat a few weeks ago. Ex-goalkeeper Steve Banks has won the Scottish Cup three times with different sides...Heart Of Midlothian (2006), Dundee United (2010) and St.Johnstone (2014) having never played a single minute of all above Cup campaigns. I didn't think he had been in Scotland that long!!! Any other fortunate player we can think of as many great players never achieve anything in football???
  14. I just love the bit about: "Getting in their face BECAUSE WE CAN!" plus: "One is sick of hearing about how great a team the Soviet's are their time is over done with!" This is how every team in Scotland should treat both side of Old Firm. Believe Soviet bunch hadn't been beaten since like 1964 Olympics which is totally unreal yet US team that beat them at Lake Placid in Semi-Final were full of college and University kids!!! Pity old footage of real life events is so dodgy now.
  15. I'm not an Ice Hockey fan but was intrigued to hear about this true life sporting story so watched said 'Miracle' film. Forget stopping the Celtic treble Treble or winning our first Scottish Cup since 1990 I think Deek does need above piece of inspiration come Sunday 14th April.
  16. Earlier this morning I was putting on a few bets for horses and football where weekend action is concerned. Had a wee shot on Roulette Machine before they go down to a £2 maximum stake on April 1st. Only went as high as about £13.75 a spin and won about £40 or so. When we played Bayern Munich in 2008 on the day I become a published author I've without fail tried lumping on Black 26 and Red 27 seeing as those were the two numbered shirts of Sone Aluko and Josh Walker. It is amazing how often one number comes out very soon after the other and one spoke with guy behind counter as to why SeeBass does have this tradition. Came home to see where Eniola's brother was nowadays and playing Chinese Super League with Beijing Rehne!! How has he managed that?!?!
  17. The other part of the Bayern Munich game of 2008 I often relive as we can't believe it is I'm still expecting that Spanish referee Gonzalez to blow for a foul on Lucio by Darren Mackie in build up to Sone Aluko's goal. Love Scott Severin's anticipation to win second ball from that particular challenge too.
  18. For me another pet hate at modern day football stadia is the folk who stand up and film every corner, penalty kick or free kick!!!!!!!!!!!! Just bloody LIVE THE MATCH rather than becoming desensitised to it with a concrete memory of some play on your phone. I often get little bits of memories pop out from my head about certain games. Like a few days ago I recalled Ze Roberto smashing his shot into Jamie Langfield's side netting at 1-1 when playing Bayern Munich 2008. I felt that 'heart attack' emotion again we went through same night. Strange but great to experience such fear once more. Showed me I cared.
  19. I've just been thinking about Deek's comment in terms of how a lot of the time the atmosphere at Pittodrie isn't what he and the team would like it to be. Obviously the way supporters follow their team has changed since our glory days in the eighties but I kind of agree with Mr McInnes regarding overall matchday experience at Home. Most recent example I can give myself is when Adam Rooney scored a hat-trick against St.Johnstone a year or two ago now. There were five minutes left and barring a complete collapse we were cruising to the three points. Referee failed to give a free-kick on edge of St.Johnstone box. All of a sudden my view was restricted for thirty seconds or so as everybody around me stood up to berate the official. I remember saying to myself; "Calm down guys you're literally giving me a sore head with the stupidity one is showing." Personally speaking I think there are some right numpties that follow us these days more so than when we first started following the club in 1991. Is it just the sign of where society is going generally speaking or is Di Stefano quote about Aberdeen having what money can't buy a soul, a spirit, built in some family tradition still relevant??
  20. Anybody else wanna play???? I'm sat at flat bored out of my skull so decide to chose eleven players for a starting line-up made up of the opposition that has visited Pittodrie since my first European game against Dnipro. Catch being only allowed to select one player from each of the seventeen sides that have faced us from 2007-2018. Of course if anyone thinks a Sigma Olomouc, Daugava Riga, HNK Rijeka, Sporting Circle Fola Esch, Ventspils or Siroki Brijeg player is worth a place in your XI then let it be known!!!!!!! GK Vyacheslav Kernozenko (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk) RB Branislav Ivanovic (Lokomotiv Moscow) CB Eric Botteghin (FC Groningen) CB James Tarkowski (Burnley) LB Jander Ribeiro Santana (Apollon Limassol) RW Ferhan Hasani (Shkendija) DM Antoliy Tymoshchuk (Kairat Almaty) AM Xavi Prieto (Real Sociedad) LW Jesper Gronkjaer (FC Copenhagen) SS Marcos Tavares (Maribor) F Miroslav Klose (Bayern Munich)
  21. Not a win at Ibrox in 41 games spread over 26 years and now three victories (I'm counting Hampden Park as their second home) within four months!!!
  22. I'm quite intrigued regarding how good our Home record is against sides from both East and West Germany. Only Borussia Monchengladbach 6-3 in 1972 have beat us at Pittodrie. Beating Bayern Munich 3-2 then drawing 2-2 with them plus winning over Hamburg twice (3-2,2-0) too. Fortuna Dusseldorf lost 2-0 to one followed by some 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt stalemate. Double Dynamo Delight where a Dresden 0-0 was bettered when Berlin came and got sent back having lost 2-1. Who can forget that goalless Hertha encounter 2002 either!! I obviously wasn't a fan when a lot of these ties took place but was there much difference between the Eastern and Western approach?? Who would be considered East and West in Bundesliga today??
  23. I was watching the goals from our match with Sporting Circle Fola Esch earlier and one noticed something we weren't sure about. When Shay Logan does grab opener Andrew Considine is actually behind the goalkeeper and defender on said line in net itself. How shall this not count as offside???
  24. Was thinking about the whole loanee thing this last few years. Most probably won't see this as a big deal but some of those like Alan Tate, James Maddison, Wes Burns, Max Lowe and Dom Ball have albeit a loser medal for most got something to show for their career. If I was a player in said scenario would be quite important to me especially if I'm a forgotten man regarding the industry.
  25. Anybody else watch this BBC Scotland programme last night??? I laughed quite a bit. Could he be a future Aberdeen manager??? Not sure his method would go down well like!!!
