Anybody else on "Aberdeen Park" e/w at 14`s Sunday? Was a bit surprised it finished in third place considering the thing hadn`t run for 378 days.
-
Watching the second leg against Bayern last year in my local independent bookies shop with the door locked and the lights off.

Only yesterday, a guy I know that works in Duns HBOS branch backs up all the good comments shown. Apparentley his laddie played against him for Hibs Youth only a couple of months ago and Fraser was head and shoulders above everyone else that afternoon.

GlasgowDon, I`m not very good at finding the information I want from the internet. I know they came in three consecutive seasons and the last few years I ain`t bothered with this kind of bet. But hey I just for a laugh did the Barcelona/AC Milan thing whilst waiting for the bus home to Duns after being at the dentist.

Put £2.50 e/w on Barcelona at (9/1) to win Champions League in August 2008 so am pretty pleased to be collecting £38.75!! Maybe patience is a virtue. Took the same stake on AC Milan to win UEFA Cup at (7/1) same day and should never have lost to Werder Bremen in Last 32!!! Can anyone tell me what Season`s were the following Bets Up; £10 on Van Nistelrooy at (7/2) (Top Scorer in Champions League) £5 on Andriy Shevchenko at (7/1) (Same As Above) £2.50 e/w Kaka at (10/1) (Same As Above)

Just want to clear something up. I`m writing a story about the day the book came out the night we played Bayern at Pittodrie. I`m discussing some of the people I met along the way during our European adventure. Especially a guy I met after the Lokomotiv Moscow match in the Youth Hostel. He was a Rangers fan who had attended the match against the Russian`s and claimed he was hoping to go to every Scottish ground supporting the "home team" and was heading for Arbroath Vs Montrose that following Saturday afternoon. I wrote the following about this particular incident. "If the The Red Ultra`s had found out there was a Castle Greyskull spy defacing Jimmy Calderwood`s tactics he might have been lynched to death. Just don`t do these type of things when footballing rivalries are involved." This was my attempt to show a bit of humour at the situation because I know some of you might not have been so understanding. If anyone is offended please let me know and I`ll change it. Cheers!

Goal against Bayern still gives me goosebumps.

MANC, Totally forgot the PSG game was an early kick-off!

Get yourselves on Marseille, PSG, Udinese and Man City all to win. Niang, Horau, Robinho and Di Natale as anytime scorers. Think all games will be close so opt for a 1-0 or 2-1 singles/doubles/treble/accumalator which ever score you fancy.

Saw Jason Manford (team captain on Eight Out Of Ten Cats/Man City fan) last Friday night at The Maltings in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Loved every minute of it (second row from the front) and to get just under two and a half hours for £12 was certainly value for money. Got my photo taken with him too even when I was told that pictures were only allowed if they`re were two or more people going up at a time. Couldn`t find anybody to come along so flew solo.

I think me and two of my friends might have bumped into Bebo`s dad coming out the ground. Had been talking about what a great goal he scored and this guy crossing the road said to us; "Yeah, well maybe some of the boo boys will get off my son`s back now." I also met Scotty Brown of Celtic on my train home to Berwick-upon-Tweed. One of his pals took a photo of us both and must say what a shy, polite and charming fella he is. Was only a couple of minutes in his company but urged me to folllow him and his mates to their seats before taking the snap. Just want to add to the lads I met at the station before I met S.B. please intoduce yourself I didn`t catch any of your names!

Remember a few months ago I told you about Connor Devaney who lives in the same town as me and played for our youth set-up? Well last Friday he approached me in the street and said he`d signed a two year contract with the club. Can anyone back this claim up and how far would he be from a possible place in the first team squad given his age as I`m not sure how old he is.

There`s been a feature published in my local rag today regarding a guy about to write a book on the history of Duns Football Club before they folded in 1975 although they have since reformed. In this piece it talks of Aberdeen playing Duns but gives no real details. Some people believe it was a Scottish Cup match in the early 50`s or 60`s but have had no concrete evidence. Anybody know of this meeting? The Dingers were part of the East Of Scotland League until their demise and even Rangers played them whitewashing the Border side 9-0. Celtic were also supposed to have entertained this motley crew. For such a small place it seems to have a lot of sporting heritage what with rally driver Jim Clark a massive pulling point in the area too. SeeBass

Not the most inspiring game for me to make my home league return after 12 years but when did Bryson hit the post like all the papers said he did? Good to see Jamie given a little run out and it`s plain to see Seve is best when in the middle of the park yet we all know that anyway eh! Thought Zander and Kerr were solid enough too.
-
3-0 Dandies tonight....Miller, Aluko and Maguire on the scoresheet.
-
Ladette, That`s what opinions are all about....suppose we`ll just have to agree to disagree eh? I`ve never been a fan of Mark`s and don`t think I ever will be. What he did in your eyes to warrant being a MOTM contender I`ll never know. It seemed whenever he had the ball he either lost it or passed it backwards.
-
I thought THE WHOLE midfield four of Young, Kerr, Vidal and Duff were ABSOLUTELY GASH!!! Poorest selection I`ve seen for this area of the field for a very, very, long time. They showed no bite or ability to impose themselves on the game or any other match whatsoever. Think we need a massive upheavel in each of these positions to be honest. Why have we never had two tricky wee wingers for ages?

Can I give to the Falkirk ball boys at the away end who were so much quicker to the round object than our own players!
-
Coventry City (21/20), Birmingham City (10/11), Oldham Athletic (Evs) and Wycombe Wanderers (6/5) are my four for tomorrow. Very unlucky with a £1 Lucky 15 last weekend with three out of four up with Atletico Madrid (6/5) letting me down. Those that won me £26.90 were Heerenveen (Evs), Bordeaux (11/10) and Roma (Evs).
-
I`d be interested in a link to match highlights too as I went to go watch it down at my mate`s house as I too don`t receive BBC Scotland only for him to tell me he was watching Poirot on ITV 3 instead, or "ITV Billy" as me and a few friends have renamed it! So obsessed with detective shows so he is.

Made a prediction for the Hearts game to Dave McDermid that we`d win 1-0 and Lee Miller would score the winner and couldn`t put it on as no buses went to Berwick-upon-Tweed in time!
-
Not really had a look.
-
GD, I had a 20p European Lucky 15 come up for me which returned £12.88 for my £3...why do I bother! Barcelona (4/5), Fenerbache (4/6), Panathinaikos (4/7) and Atletico Madrid (11/10) were the four away sides that triumphed.
-
Off the top of my head....St.Johnstone, Dunfermline (that 3-2 loss on Boxing Day 2000 when we were asked at 2-1 up if we wanted to call it a day during half-time), old Airdrie ground, Raith Rovers.
-
I did a 50p Lucky 15 Bobby. Knew I shouldn`t have went against Lech Poznan considering their place in our European history! And as for Valencia they were through so a chance to lie down to somebody was there. Just as well I had a tenner on Copenhagen to win their must win match in Belgium then eh? £4 at (11/4) with my local bookies and £6 at (11/5) over in Ladbrokes following my correct goalscorer prediction on Saturday against Falkirk. Actually waiting on Benfica to complete my 20p Lucky 15 with Deportivo La Coruna, Hamburg and Portsmouth already up. I know it`s peanuts but hey every little bit helps!
