I voted for a new central defender and progress in Europe. However, on reflection i would probably change that to just playing attractive fitba. Some of the fitba we played last season was horrendous. Mcghee knows full well what the realistic aims are for the club in this moment in time and knows that Calderwood made a resonable job at stabalising the club. From his interviews, he obviously feels that he is the man to use that foundation and, asMarky sez to progress from where we were last season. Re the Panathanaikos game. If we had played to OUR strength's instead of being ( in this instance justifiably away from home with an inexperienced team in Europe) defensivley structured, I think we SHOULD have done better. But we had our game plan and we stuck to it. However, if we had went at them a bit more we may have came away with a point. If I remembe rightly, their defence was pish.

It makes the arguement about "the next level" (whatever that is, are we playing Super Mario or Lemming's)? a little unclear to me, as compared to other manager's within the SPL he HAS PROVED COMPETENT within Europen football. However, it is the route to European competition that irks, as over TWO season's we have squandered the relatively easier chance to gain entry to Euro football via the Scottish cup through playing "smaller" teams. These players should have been playing out of thier skins in the cup to get to the final, as if one of the ugly sister's is your opponent, you dont even have to WIN the bloody thing! Insated we are left with fighting for every point at the end of a season against the better theams in the SPL witgh the party line from Pittodrie being trotted out at every interview: "third is our priority now, European football would be geat again" blah blah blah.
