  1. The cynic in me sez that pish like this always gets sprayed about before infirm games, last week it was about miller being offski, now its calderwood being offski before the hun game. On the other hand, if there is one time as a football manager to look for a bigger move, ie ingerlund then it is when your stock is high, like it is now with calderwood. However, yes calderwood has brought Aberdeen to being a respectable team again but, if he walks now he will always have the question of "could I actually have WON something with Aberdeen"? Because to my mind a cup final place and being at least CLOSE to second is not unachievable. Surely?
  2. They dont like it up em.....! :finger: Do you think the bent arm and fist gesture was aimed at you specifically then? Thats not very sporting is it?
  3. I can confirm that the celtic team were getting liberal amounts of very vocal dog's abuse. We pointed out they were cheats and their parentage was questionable. It was quite noisy close to the pitch in the South Stand. They couldnt fail to here what we thought of them.
  4. (Sigh) Right here goes, if it is a sciatic nerve problem then nothing but spinal surgery from a surgeons will work, if it's serious enough, Which isnae gonna happen cos, many lower back problems occur from mis-alignments and such from all over the body, from poor posture from the upper body all the way down to having a gammy knee for a spell. If the ORIGINAL insult or injury whatever it is has resolved then this may be a knock on consequence. In any case we are back to the work of the phyisio's and the masseurs at the club to resolve these problems. Which a specialist in spinal problems or gammy knees will refer to to implement said treatment plans. In any case, the two will probably work in conjunction with each other and not a doctor's word is the final say in the matter.
  5. Really? That a fine and valid set of comments you have unleashed on the unwitting masses. Thank you for your valuable insight into the inner working of our health care system and Aberdeen football clubs treatment table.
  6. And who do you think the "specialists" turn to for thier rehab programmes? er, yes, that will be the physio's. Who incidentaly ARE specialists, especially if they are dealing with the re-hab of sports injuries. And as for Albyn, NHS consultants and private consultants are the mostly the same people. Its just the NHS get the tab if something goes badly wrong.
  7. I also thought Smith was close to returning after Caldo making the comments about letting the player decide if he is ready?
  8. There is a difference between "marking" the goal keeper and fouling him outright every given chance. Smart arse.
  9. “Our job now is to keep the fans on side in the hope that all of our future home matches attract big crowds. Oh well fucking done today Jimmy. :hammer:
  10. How quickly would Diamond be off if that was to happen?
  11. Were the excuses already being made last week?
  12. Thing is tho, the ones that are saying that our league isnt cometitve are the ones that are actually creating the myth that Scottish football is an inferior product. These being the igorant, single minded arseholes in the glasgow media in particular but the Scottish press in general. Last weekend is a perfect example. A poor hun siude lost to an average tim side, the game wasnt particulaly a good game of football to watch, much poor play, missed passes etc and in general a lot of hype. Whearas, Aberdeen V Hearts, everything to play for, two teams trying to play football, both in form and fighting for the Euro spots, with the biggest crowd BY FAR out with the OF game. Did it get decent coverage in the Sunday papers? DId it fuck. Barely a mention in the hunday mail, lots and lots about the non event infirm match tho, and as for the Scotland on Sunday, 'kin hell. A Seven page pull out. Why? Agian with the usual substandard passing mention about our game. Until the press in this country get a grip and start covering the rest of the league in a more positive light, our game will always be viewed as falsley inferior.
  13. Is it a fair comparison to make between us and the Irish/Welsh? Surely football is more of a minority sport behind rugby in Wales and some of the gaelic sports in Ireland? At the very least they are competing more evenly for a supporting base down there with these other sports? And if the ugly sisters wre always competing in Europe then maybe the support for more local teams will actually increase as folk are unable to go and suppport these two when they play away?
  14. Having been at the game on saturday, i have to say the the yams deserve everything they get. From Kingston diving about to the general thuggish stance of the entire team they are a disgrace. The sending off (in my opinion) was a bit of afters from the away game in October. Whenever the jambos get a corner, they put a man on Langfield (I think it was Nade in this instance) for no other reason but to impede Langfield's ability to protect his six yard box. Clangers I think remembered this and told him to fuck off. Yams no liking this pushing and shoving ensued. Idiot boy gets sent off. Nae luck.
  15. So the state of the huns and tims being pish in Europe has nothing to do with having managers that dont have a clue how to compete in Europe ? Its everybody elses fault in the SPL that these two contamptable teams cant do better? F*&(ing hell, if WE can get to the knock out stages in the UEFA cup after years in the wilderness, then SURELY these two should be able to compete better and more regularly at a higher level, them having more cash etc. Smith. Fuck off and die and take your disgusting club and the half breeds that are the other side of the old firm with you.
  16. All of these positives will mean nothing if the six players who are at the end of thier contracts naff off somewhere else. The whole reason why we are doing better is because of the stability at the club just now. When will the board realise that having so many players out of contract at one time is not only ludicrous but very damaging as well?
  17. A difficult one in such a positive way. I think Severin had possibly one of his best games in a defensive position, Miller was brilliant, but I can honestly sat that was JdV best game that i have seen in a red shirt. I was never a fan of his, I thoght his passing was poor, he wasnt strong enough against oppostion defenders, prefering to pass backwards instead of trying to run on past them, his crossing was poor etc. But yesterday he was brilliant. The times he went on past the jambos left back in the second half was getting embarassing. He was a joy to watch. Long may this continue. He marginally gets my vote.
  18. Hearts away crowd at Pittodrtie is always a poor turnout. Third biggest team in the SPL? Not if thier away crowds are anything to go by. Utterly contemptable. Joke of a club.
  19. It seems that our mid field IS actually gelling. Why it takes half a seson to do that mystifies me though. Anyway, with the fixtures we have comng up jambos, tims and filth next month, we can ONLY keep a settled formation. If we attack the filth like we have done in spells this season we will especially tear the hun a new arsehole. I believe they are a worse team than the league actually shows. This is the time to build on confidence and take ourselves up that league. I dont think two wins and against these three is imopssible.
  20. Abd a statue of Calderwood as you enter Aberdeen? How about at Kincorth?
  21. Apparently nae as good as winning the Tennents sixes, according to some.
  22. I have a feeling this is how we managed to sustain our team that managed to get into Europe two seasons ago. A mix of jiggery pokery with our finances to sustain a reasonable playing staff, whilst the other supposed contenders, ie Unt and Hearts had to mover players on (ie the infamous Pressley et al affair) and went on mini melt downs. Thereby we managed a modicum of stability within the team and from that we got the results we needed. I do feel the January transfer window might be able to give us a bit of insight as to how the second half of the season is going to go. As Calderwood sez, not selling, only looking to improve. If Europe beckons again, we should, however learn and use that money to bolster the squad, ensuring European games happen more frequently so we can take full financial advantage that playing in Europe allows.
  23. A wee bit bitter and twisted nt? I take it you are speaking about personal experience about the quality of Doctors who qualify from Aberdeen University.
  24. Solid result. Good to keep a clean sheet too. Bring on rrajambowz!!
  25. Tell yi what tho, If we get 3 point against Caley, the tarts game might be the biggest of the season. Despite thier current situation, (Ithink there is another thread about it somewhere), they are playing well, and thier confidence will be up. I can see it being a tasty game.
