  1. Looking forward to Kingsley getting the left back gig ahead of The Grass
  2. Huns unable/unwilling to pay off Barton, so invited back to Newco Rangers have announced that midfielder Joey Barton "will return to full-time training" following a club-imposed suspension. The 34-year-old has been absent from the club since a training-ground row in the wake of September's 5-1 loss at Celtic Park. With agent Eddy Jennings, he attended a meeting with club officials last week. Barton has stated repeatedly he wants to return and fight for his place, having joined from Burnley in May. "Joey Barton has been told he will return to full-time training following the conclusion of a disciplinary procedure," said Rangers on their website. "The Auchenhowie [training base] management team will inform the player of appropriate training arrangements to which he must adhere for as long as he remains a Rangers player. "Neither the club, nor the player, will comment further." Barton is also facing Scottish FA charges for breaching betting rules. He was charged with placing 44 bets on games between 1 July and 15 September. The former Manchester City, Newcastle United and QPR player, who has one England cap, left Burnley under freedom of contract at the end of last season, signing a two-year contract at Ibrox. He has made eight appearances for Mark Warburton's side, who are currently second in the Scottish Premiership. The fact that Joey Barton is returning to full-time training does not necessarily mean the resumption of his Rangers career. Under Fifa rules, a player under contract at a club must be provided with training facilities. The fact that the player was suspended reflects the view of the management team about the serious nature of a training ground row in September. Any return to the first-team squad would need to be handled in such a way as to not disrupt the mood and unity among the players. Rangers' statement does not say that Barton is returning to the first-team squad, or will be available for selection, and only the management team at their Auchinhowie training base is mentioned, rather than first-team manager Mark Warburton. Either the player does eventually return to the first-team squad, or his Rangers career effectively remains over and what happens in the January transfer window will be significant.

  12. Haven't had a chance to put my spin on the game yet and glad I read through the thread prior to doing so as only really need to quote Slim who has summed it up perfectly for me. Found the selection totally baffling, and it was evident long before we conceded that it patently wasn't working. In fairness to McInnes he at least made the first substitutions at least twenty minutes earlier than normal. Can't let the performance of Joe Lewis pass without mentioning what I've been thinking for a number of weeks now, there isn't a keeper in the SPL I would swap him for, and the beauty this time is he is actually ours

  21. Seems pretty fair to me but sure plenty of folk will disagree Betfred Cup Final Aberdeen v Celtic Sunday 27th November, 3pm KO Hampden Park, Glasgow The Club can now confirm the ticketing process for our forthcoming Betfred Cup Final against Celtic at Hampden. Tickets will be made available based on the number of Loyalty Points that each supporter has built-up from July last year. The Loyalty Points system is now in its third season and was designed specifically to deal with occasions such as this where there will be a high demand for tickets. After careful consideration the Loyalty Point thresholds have been set at a level where we can guarantee supporters in Phase One and Phase Two a ticket for this match. Supporters can of course add to their Loyalty Points total before tickets for the match go on sale by purchasing tickets for our forthcoming fixtures. Supporters who fall short of the Loyalty Points total for Phase One and Phase Two can purchase a Mid-season ticket before Monday 7th November to guarantee their cup final ticket. See full details below. Pittodrie Chief Executive Duncan Fraser commented. "Having witnessed the numbers who travelled to Parkhead for the League Cup Final two years ago, we are well aware that demand will outstrip supply and the method of distribution will ensure that our supporters who have demonstrated their loyalty to the team will be able to attend. "As stated earlier this week, we are content with the allocation the Club has received and indeed guaranteed the cost of the tickets allocated to strengthen our case for parity." 22. Aye min, I stand corrected it was McDiarmid Park not Muirton. The brains nae fit it used to be. Think it was either their first or second season in the new ground, late September 1990. Sure it was nothing each at the time and Davie Robertson got send off and our arse collapsed.
  23. Fucking shocking statistic but doesn't come as any great surprise as mankind continues to do its best to destroy all around it. On a light note however, I take it spiders aren't included in there as there seems to have een a huge amount of the fuckers about this year. Then again I am close to a site where new houses are going up and I suppose it could be down to them being disturbed by that. Also I saw a wasp yesterday afternoon....I mean it's almost November. The seasons are fucked up these days.
