  6. Barry "The Crab" Ferguson, apparently favourite to take over @ Clyde New favourite for the Howkers job (Steve Clarke) apparently wanted by Brighton
  7. Source Daily Record DUNDEE UNITED have joined the race to land striker Kris Boyd. But they could face stiff competition from Aberdeen for the free agent frontman. Tannadice boss Jackie McNamara has had informal talks with the 30-year-old, hoping to persuade him to be the spearhead for his cavalier kids next season. And it’s understood he believes Boyd’s growing reputation as a coach and mentor would be a massive boost on the park for his young side. Chairman Stephen Thompson is on standby to tie up a deal – despite being on holiday in Australia. However, there is still serious interest in the Scotland striker from Aberdeen and Rangers.
  8. This...... Boyd is probably the most natural Scottish goalscorer of his generation
  9. Agreed. Seriously hoped they would go for Keane (shite ) or Larsson (totally inexperienced)
  10. Well that puts paid to the Hamill rumour Gone back to Killie on a three year deal. Will fit in very well with their style of play
  11. Fair point re Langfields, sorry Brown's top
  12. See attached link and article: Worst kept secret of the year that Saltire Energy are our new sponsor and have signed a three year worth circa £1m. Worth in passing mentioning Team Recruitment who have supported the club for years with sponsorship. New kit looks pretty good. Interesting to see we've dropped the two stars. A sign McInnes has us looking forward and not backwards. Time to create new history for the club. ======================================== Dons new partnership launched Aberdeen Football Club today announced that Saltire Energy is the new club sponsor in a three year, seven figure deal that will see the energy company involved in a major partnership that extends beyond the first team squad. Also revealed is the new home kit that the team will wear for the 2014-15 campaign, incorporating the latest adidas styles and materials. Commenting on the deal, Pittodrie Vice Chairman George Yule said. "We are absolutely delighted to have secured this partnership with Saltire Energy, an organisation that already enjoys a close relationship with the club through supporting of several initiatives over the years. In addition to Saltire's involvement with the senior squads, they are also going to support all of our youth development teams which of course are where many first team stars of the future can currently be found. "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Terry Allan and Team Recruitment for their fantastic support over the past six years, which has been very much appreciated." Established in 1986, and headquartered in Portlethen Aberdeen, Saltire Energy is a leading supplier of state-of-the-art drilling equipment to the global oil and gas industry. Mike Loggie, Saltire Energy CEO added: "I am thrilled that Saltire Energy will be building upon an already successful relationship with AFC. Saltire Energy has supported the youth teams at the club for a number of years and this move is very much a natural progression for us. "I am a long-standing fan of the club and admire the way they perform both on and off the pitch. AFC's significant involvement in the community is also reflective of Saltire Energy's commitment to the local area. When we heard that there was an opportunity to become the official sponsor for AFC we were keen to take over this prestigious title and strengthen our involvement with the club. "AFC is steeped in tradition and we are proud to be associated with the club and see the Saltire Energy brand on the new kit, which looks great. This is such an exciting time for AFC - I am really looking forward to watching the club's run of success continue into next season and beyond." Saltire Energy established the 'Saltire in the Community' programme in 2008 to support local initiatives that would primarily benefit young people. Through this, the company is already involved with many sporting programmes, such as AFC Youth, The Paul Lawrie Foundation, Saltire Energy Sports for Schools, University of Aberdeen Sporting Scholarships and Curling for Schools. From today, supporters can purchase the new AFC home kit, in the club shop and online, while the 2014-15 season away kit will be launched later in the month. http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20140602/dons-new-partnership-launched_2212158_3875431
