Will answer my own question. Matt Ritchie is an inverted right winger. Looking at comments on Bournemouth Echo site it seems their fans rate him highly and reckon it is our gain and England's loss getting him. English born of a Scottish father.

Happy enough with this. Works for both parties in that gives a spell to prove his worth without shelling out on a risky longer term deal. Assume short term deal means end of the season. We are certainly not any weaker a team as a result.
