From today's online Retard:
HEARTS player Craig Thomson has been arrested on charges of sending lewd pictures of himself to young girls.
The 19-year-old defender was questioned by detectives after the teenage girls' parents found explicit photos on a home computer.
Thomson is alleged to have been chatting with the girls on the internet and is understood to have been unaware that they were underage.
Police visited Thomson at his Edinburgh home and removed his computer for forensic examination when the parents made a complaint to them.
The footballer, who played against Rangers at Tynecastle on Saturday in a Premier League clash, was charged after officers found naked pictures on his computer.
It is believed they were also able to access conversations on the computer which allegedly contained talk of an "inappropriate nature".
A police source said last night : "He's accused of speaking to the girls, who are just 15, on the internet and in conversations which took a sexual turn, with mild flirtations going back and forth.
"Pictures of a sexual nature were exchanged and found by the girls' parents.
"Police were called. The case involves low-level sexual offences and inappropriate use of the internet."
Thomson, seen as one of Scotland's rising stars, was forced to tell Hearts boss Jim Jefferies about the allegations. Sources said the manager "hit the roof" but is backing his player.
Thomson made his debut for Hearts in August 2009, despite being a life-long fan of Edinburgh rivals Hibernian.
He was sent off last month during the Co-operative Insurance Cup game against Falkirk but returned on Saturday against Rangers.
A police spokesman said: "A 19-year-old male has been arrested and charged and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date."
Thomson's agent Gary Mackay said: "I've no comment to make."
