Long rumoured as a target for the Huns. Paper talk or possible move in the offing. Source is today's Retard. Middlesbrough last night stepped up their efforts to land Rangers star Kevin Thomson by throwing in ex-Aberdeen striker Lee Miller as a makeweight in a £2.7million deal. Boro boss Gordon Strachan has deemed Miller surplus to requirements after the arrival of Kris Boyd from Ibrox and is now trying to punt 27-year-old Miller in the opposite direction. Rangers are reluctant to sell Thomson but with the former Hibs midfielder entering the last year of his contract they may be tempted to do business if Strachan ups his offer for the 25-year-old. Ibrox gaffer Walter Smith is on the look-out for a striker in the wake of Boyd's departure but it is unclear if Scotland hitman Miller fits the bill. Meanwhile, Smith admits he is being priced out of the transfer market as he struggles to sign new stars on a limited budget. Gers have not bought a player since August 2008 and Smith said: "Market forces are against us right now and that is happening a lot. We have a small group of players and we need to bring new ones in. "But when we are looking around it's difficult to achieve the balance of getting the level of player you want given the level of finance available. "So that is the task facing us and we'll obviously try to bring in the best we possibly can." New signings are imperative after Boyd joined Nacho Novo, DaMarcus Beasley and Stevie Smith in leaving the club over the summer.

-
FFS we've signed a player. Just back off my hols lads, anything else been happening ? p.s welcome aboard Josh
-
Ally, unacceptable yes, but beyond the realms of possibiity no. Think we could lose to any of them right now, but once we get our ten new signings, who knows
-
Also meant to say, if this is the sort of player Lennon is signing for his Celtic revolution, then roll on next season, once we get our ten new quality players
-
Can't help but think that those of a Celtic persuasion won't accept a defender who can't defend. In all honesty Chic, if you think you're signing on there to get a regaular start, then frankly you're more deluded than I thought Bench warmer, sum total, odd goal coming off the bench and taking a free kick

Probably the right place to post this. For the past five years we have enjoyed the exclusive rights to post AFC fixture list on our site. Word appears to have got out about the cost of this and other sites entered the race to get these. Upshot is that Mad were given the rights (could have been considerably worse ) The importance of this is that any posts containing our season's fixures will be deleted for legal reasons unlike previous seasons.

That might not necessarily rule Kerr out
-
Have said for some time Kow that wouldn't be in the least bit surpised to see at least two out of Kerr, MacDonald & Mulgrew still at Pittodrie once we return for pre season. It would appear as if they're not exactly inundated with offers elsewhere. Is the land of milk and honey known as the Fizzy Pop league drying up, are they just not as good as they think they are, or a combination of both ?

"Make me an offer" Eh, you've had at least one, you've said no See ya

Dons Target Hitman "Kevin Kyle" signs for .....
BigAl replied to 19afc03's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Fuck him...........next Scotland striker Kevin Kyle set for Hearts switch after agreeing Tynecastle deal Jun 3 2010 Exclusive by Craig Swan Kevin Kyle last night agreed to join his old gaffer Jim Jefferies at Hearts. The 28-year-old striker has spent the past three weeks sifting through a host of offers after his contract at Kilmarnock expired. Now the former Scotland attacker has plumped for Gorgie. Kyle's terms have been agreed with the Tynecastle hierarchy and Record Sport understands the hitman will undergo a medical today. Should there be no fitness complications, the striker will pen a deal before the end of this week. Kyle's decision brings an end to almost a month of speculation regarding his future. Greek sides Xanthi and Kavala both made contract offers while English outfit Charlton Athletic launched a late move. In the SPL, Aberdeen were also interested in taking the big striker to Pittodrie but boss Mark McGhee pulled out the chase due to financial restraints. And former Killie boss Jefferies, who helped revive Kyle's flagging career by taking him to Rugby Park 18 months ago, has now convinced the player to rejoin him at Tynecastle . Kyle's capture will add much-needed firepower to a side that has struggled for goals in the past two seasons. Jambos gaffer Jefferies looked at freed Cardiff ace Warren Feeney, while Burnley pair Robbie Blake and Steven Thompson were also on the radar. But Kyle, who was available on a free transfer, was a more viable option. Meanwhile, Hearts defender Ismael Bouzid is to snub a move abroad and remain at Hearts to see out the final year of his contract. The Algerian's agent Thomas Boehm said: "Ismael will stay in Edinburgh for another year. We had interest in him but have to respect he is under contract. "Hopefully he'll have a good season and we will see next year what is going on." -
Well glad thats sorted, feel a whole lot better about the shambles we're in now.

Northampton striker Adebayo Akinfenwa claims interest from SPL sides May 31 2010 NORTHAMPTON goal machine Adebayo Akinfenwa is refusing to rule out a possible move to the north of Scotland after revealing interest from the SPL. The ex-Millwall frontman, who netted 17 times last season, claims he is being chased by several SPL clubs - two of whom "couldn't be further away" from his home in south London. Akinfenwa is a free agent after choosing to leave Northampton Town at the end of the season but admits he would prefer a move to a club in or around the English capital to be nearer his family. "I've had three or four Scottish Premier League clubs contact me about going there and doing something," he said. "A couple of those clubs couldn't be further away from London so I'd have to seriously think about it, but it's nice to be sought after and nice to be wanted. "Right now, I'm just letting the interest come in and when I come back from my holiday then I'll sort out my future." The powerful striker netted 17 goals for the Cobblers last season and, in two years, hit an impressive 37 goals in 88 appearances. Akinfenwa has also played for Swansea City and Torquay United. Us and ICT I guess then
