I'm more surprised people are shocked by this - this is a team that was beaten 4-0 by Peterhead just a few weeks ago. If anything, I think this is steady progress - 2-0 against a top quality SPL side such as Inverness Caledonian Fcking Thistle (even though they had a 3rd chopped off for offside) is better than 4-0 against Peterhead. To be fair though, I am much more encouraged with a Severin and Diamond partnership, with Foster on the right and Mulgrew on the left than something that includes: Mair, Considine or Duff (though I believe Duff is a lot better than I originally thought, and should be used in midfield).

Nothing like a meaningless pre-season schedule to get Dons fans back to their dream-filled ways - never mind players fitness levels, maybe that's the real reason for pre-season - to get fans dreams of over-achievment back up to speed! ;)

According to the Evening I think, it said Zander and Severin would be back in tonight. I think Duff and Miller will be missing due to injury.

Yes it is a pre-season friendly. But there is no reason why a part-time club who has also just returned to pre-season training should be in much better shape than the so-called 'professionals'. I don't care what game and at what time of the season, Aberdeen should not be being beat by Peterhead, and if the players don't have the pride when they pull on a red jersey then they shouldn't be there. I hate all the 'it was only a pre-season friendly for the lads fitness' stuff - if they were playing a team half way through their season then maybe I could understand it. But Peterhead are a Division 2 team, who are part-time - if our fitness levels aren't much better than theirs then our players haven't been looking after themselves during their summer. And nothing wrong with a good moan Jager :thumbsup:

Miller played - albeit 1 half, Mulgrew has never played for Aberdeen so I have know idea if he is going to be a regular or not, Severin and Diamond were injured. It is quite plausible that over the course of a season, these guys could be injured at the same time or there may be suspensions etc... If that does happen, then quite clearly we are fecked.

Fair enough Bobby - but we could really do with a hero right now!!!! Bisconti, Windass and Stavrum would easily be classed as heroes nowadays. Jess and Shearer were TRUE HEROES though, I will admit this!!!!
