  1. I don't think the Dick Donald stand is one of the ones needing redevelopment though!
  2. Never heard of them but in my experience of you phone Orange you can get a better deal out of them if you tell them you're thinking of leaving for a better deal elsewhere.
  3. A stadium north of the city is a complete non-starter. I don't have a problem with them looking at options in the Shire providing its near a train station. But the main concern is, how long is this going to put the move back by now? I was at a shareholders meeting about 10 years ago and we were told the main stand only had about 5 years of life left!?
  4. That's Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong took the picture. Amazing man, amazing achievement, RIP.
  5. But Westburn Park is easily accessible. It probably has loads more people in it on a sunny day than UTG ever has. I walk past UTG every day, it's deserted. I'm all for opening up access from Belmont Street but wasn't particularly fond of the Granite Web design, but voted for it as I thought I was voting for taking it to the next stage - not getting it built yet.
  6. Front page of the EE has the Shire Council ready to welcome AFC with open arms. I think Portlethen and Inverurie are getting talked about. If it was walkable from Portlethen station then that's easier for big numbers to get to than Cove. Would be a hell of a change moving that far out of the city though. Maybe they should build it on top of UTG...
  7. Councillor Young is the guy who got booted out of Cove Rangers, and helped kill off the Calder Park plans. He can't even spell "democratic" by the looks of things. He is arguing with folk on Facebook - honestly, who votes for these clowns!?
  8. There's a fairly lively debate on Facebook if anyone is interested: http://www.facebook.com/BarneyCrockettIsADisgraceToDemocracy
  9. The Thick of It returns on 8th September: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2012/37/The-Thick-of-It.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/jul/12/the-thick-of-it-leveson?newsfeed=true
  10. I suppose the ball boy should be grateful that it was only his eye.
  11. This wouldn't be a good thing but I wonder if AFC will consider moving into Aberdeenshire, seeing as it appears nigh on impossible to get a major project built in the City. Yesterday was an appalling day for the City of Aberdeen. Labour wankers.
  12. Number of people who voted for the CGP: 42K Number of people voting for Labour at the last Council elections: 16K
  13. It wasn't the best of the proposals from the short list, but going against a public vote will haunt the council for a long time. Very concerned about various projects being binned (UTG redevelopment, AFC stadium, 3rd Don crossing).
  14. Binned: http://local.stv.tv/aberdeen/news/local-democracy/186596-aberdeens-divisive-city-garden-project-rejected-by-councillors/
  15. Correct, it would be far easier for the US to extradite him from the UK. If he goes to Sweden then the US need both the permission from the Swedes and the UK to extradite him. He has a case to answer and if he really stands for the truth he should be going to Sweden to answer the charges.
  16. You were saying that when he was still with us.
  17. It seems the Labour council are intent on binning a number of projects (3rd Don crossing, AFC's new stadium, City Gardens Project). No wonder nothing ever gets built in this city. Its the same councillors who have delivered very little over the last 30 years that keep getting voted back in!
  18. There is a very good piece in the New Statesman about the legal myths surrounding Assange: http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/david-allen-green/2012/08/legal-myths-about-assange-extradition
  19. They're not the best are they?
  20. Why do people find it difficult to believe that, despite what good Wikileaks has done, that Assange, just might, might, not be a very nice person? He should be punted to Sweden to face the music, and not use conspiracy theories about the States to shield some reasonably serious charges he faces in Sweden IMHO my honest opinion. As for George Galloway? Jesus wept, what a professional gob shite.
  21. Definitely. Preece was a much improved keeper from working with Leighton. In short, BigAl's lost it.
  22. He'd make a decent backup to Langfield.
  23. Man U to sign Kaka apparently. A few years too late perhaps?
