Each film is about 3 hours long now!

I've seen the three original theatrical versions, now working my way through reading each book then watching the extended film of each book. Two to go! And for Jager's benefit, the extended versions now come with English dialogue!

Agree with the sentiment but I'm not aware of too much negativity shown to Fergie on here or many other Dons forums (although I don't read The Hat). Have I missed something? Surely only a very tiny tiny minority of idiots could possibly have anything bad to say about him? McGhee and Miller have certainly received some ridiculous flak, Miller in particular since he came back to the club. I actually think Miller has received more unfair criticism than anyone else. Criticism of McGhee's tenure as manager is fully justified IMHO but he'll always be one of our best ever strikers. You can also add Strachan to the list! The vitroil I've read about him is disgraceful - he's still one of the top three footballers ever to play for the Dons IMHO.

I can't believe its now 25 years since he left us, it feels like longer! As Graeme Spiers has tweeted: SAF wins the SPL 1980 with Aberdeen. 31 years later, in 2011 he wins EPL with Man Utd. Can any other coach, in any sport, equal such a span? I doubt it! An outstanding manager, the greatest ever, hope he has a great day.

They had an anti-BBC banner on display yesterday Seemingly they are having some sort of protest at BBC in Glasgow sometime soon. A hun I was speaking to after the game is taking part in the protest, but at the same time was looking forward to watching MOTD last night for the goals in the Chelsea v Arsenal game! You couldn't make it up! Also, "If you hate Alex Salmond clap your hands" was one of the song yesterday!

First game of the season for me Thought we played quite well in the first half and matched a very poor hun side, but we were rubbish after the break and it was sadly a matter of time before they scored. We only really got going once we'd scored. As discussed above the ref was shocking, and Naismith is a dirty bastard. I thought Considine and Foster played well, particularly in the first half, but I believe Foster may have been at fault for the first goal. Arnason had a decent game but I wasn't too impressed with many others to be honest. Osbourne had a disappointing game with some sloppy mistakes, and Fallon and Chalali were poor IMHO. However, nobody was as bad as Mackie - surely his worst performance in a Dons shirt. Would have liked to have seen us start with 2 up front, as the Huns were there for the taking yesterday.

Clydesdale Bank Youth League Aberdeen 4 Dundee United 0 Devaney (17),McManus (31, 50), Carse (67) Cammy Smith, who is on international duty with the Scotland U17's, was the only noticeable absentee as Aberdeen searched for a victory against Tayside rivals Dundee United. The Dons started as they meant to go on as an excellent Clark Robertson ball found Dean Carse in space midway inside the United half. A quick first time pass found Declan McManus who tested the Dundee United keeper early on, showing good strength to get a shot away. Aberdeen were looking dominant until against the run of play an excellent through ball released United striker Campbell with space inside the Aberdeen penalty area. Dons keeper Lukasik was quick off his line, staying big and producing an important block. Aberdeen were straight back on the attack and got their reward after 17 minutes of play. A poorly cleared cross found Connor Devaney who scored a stunning dipping effort from 25 yards into the top right of the Dundee United goal.Aberdeen pushed hard for the second goal and were almost rewarded on 25 minutes when a Stephen O'Neill run and a curling effort from the edge on the area produced a fine save from Anderson in the United goal. The Dons doubled their tally on 31 minutes when a long ball into the box from right back Jamie Masson found the head of striker McManus who headed home comfortably from close range. The Dons then had efforts from Clark Robertson and McManus saved as Aberdeen pushed for more goals. However the young Arabs almost grabbed a lifeline as a cross from the United right winger found Thomson unmarked on the back post. It seemed certain that the halftime score would be 2-1 only for the excellent Lukasik to deny the number 11, getting across his goal and blocking at point blank range. A stunning save. Dundee United started the second half as they ended the first and pushed the Dons back. However the home side remained solid and broke forward with O'Neil', his cross found an unmarked McManus who headed home his second of the game. At 3-0 the game seemed as good as over for United as the Aberdeen defence continued to impress. McManus had a number of close efforts as he looked for a hat-trick. On with just over 30 to go captain Robertson made way for Ryan Fraser who had an immediate impact. After a couple of quality runs at the Dundee United defence the youngster found McManus with space in the area on 67 minutes. However, a good save from the goalkeeper and a block on the line from the United defenders denied the striker his hat-trick, unfortunately for the away team Dean Carse was on hand to poke home, being the quickest to react to the loose ball. Aberdeen sub goalkeeper Danny Rodgers was given his first run out with the U19s. The second choice stopper proved he was not just there to make up the numbers, producing a quality save from United's number 12. United were almost granted a fluke consolation when an in swinging corner took everyone by surprise, instinctively cleared of the line by Mason. Aberdeen ran out 4-0 winners with an assured, attacking display. It is difficult to pick out individuals from such an impressive team display, however Declan McManus particularly impressed, leaving the Arabs defence in disarray at how to defend against him.
