  1. The title of this thread has never seemed so apt. Looking pretty tasty over in Washington just now!!
  2. My Mu! Fantastic act. Amazing they can still make the news (literally) after all these years. Great to see they’re releasing stuff to stream, including remastered singles and videos so far. I personally would prefer the option to buy!
  3. Sort of a film, but I watched "Lennox Lewis: The Untold Story" on Amazon Prime. Dr Dre narrates it. Very good. Lennox was/is an absolute class act inside and outside of the ring, and there were some good insights, particularly about his two defeats. That "draw" in the first Holyfield fight still grates for me - I remember it well, he absolutely battered him. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7140274/
  4. Yep, we're starting to look like the lonely isolated country that presumably some Brexiteers wanted, but its taken the French to concentrate minds, as only the French can. What an absolute shit show, and its going to be tough times ahead. An absolute perfect storm as you say Tom.
  5. Whatever happened to Rocket ?

Peter Alliss. Back in the day he was one of the great commentators, with a very decent sense of humour. Very memorable when van de velde lost his marbles at Carnoustie the year Lawrie won.

JoJo Rabbit is very good. Always great to see the piss ripped out of Hitler but it’s quite a touching film. I was very impressed!

    That well known celebrity!
  11. Fucks sake. Think we’ve cocked up with the subs now, could be a tough extra time - hope I’m wrong!
  12. I have to say I think the whole debacle of this election was worth it for the big press conference by Rudy Guiliani at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping company, instead of the Four Seasons Hotel, in between a porn book store & a crematorium. The creators of Veep couldn’t have made something funnier. Whoever took the booking is a legend. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/nov/08/the-other-four-seasons-trump-team-holds-press-conference-at-suburban-garden-centre

  14. Arizona was called Blue several hours ago by Fox News of all places. Its such a horrific but strangely curious process to watch. Trump still bookies favourite (just) but Biden has gone ahead in Wisconsin and if he takes that state I think needs 2 from Nevada, Michigan, Georgia & Pennsylvania? They seem to be waiting on counts from big cities like Atlanta and Detroit which are seemingly Democratic. It will likely go to court though. But what a deeply divided country.

    Celeb Deaths

Even at 90 that’s a real sore one & it’s a very very sad day. I’m unashamedly a massive fan of Sean Connery and I struggle to think of many/any other actors in history who could match his sheer presence & charisma on screen. Shurely one of the greatest movie stars of all time. He was sometimes unfairly (IMHO) underrated as an actor - see The Hill and The Offence! And the criticism he got in later life for just playing himself with the same voice all the time seemed to miss the point - that’s what people wanted to see & hear! I really like what Daniel Craig has brought to Bond but there’s no debate for me at all that Sean WAS Bond and will never be matched, let alone surpassed. I was brought up on Roger Moore’s films but they’re now unwatchable, whereas I can still enjoy any of Sean’s - including Diamonds Are Forever! He also transcended acting as he was just such a big person in Scotland (“towering over Scotland from his home in the Bahamas” as Billy Connolly once joked). There’s been no one quite like him. Best film? The Untouchables Favourite film? Last Crusade I’ll be raising a dram to the big man tonight. RIP a total legend.
  17. I think I’d want to chuck Peter Weir into the mix. But you could make a case for any of the Gothenburg team, particularly Black, Simpson & Cooper too. I’d put them above McKimmie (fantastic player though).
  18. Presume this is McGhee and/or Strachan. I agree the whole team are legends. McGhee was one helluva front man, led the line real well and didn’t shirk a challenge, and Strachan is in the top 3 best players to have ever played for the club IMHO (number 2 behind Willie for me). Considine is nowhere near being classed a “legend”.
  19. Very sad news. RIP.
  20. I’m calling it: anyone voting for Trump is an imbecile. His performance on the White House balcony the other night had a touch of Idi Amin about it. He’s a dangerous psychopath who will get what he deserves soon enough.

There’s definitely some smoke and mirrors. But mainly from Trump’s doctor!

Never heard of him and I only came on this thread to see if it was Trump...

Yup. The “mild symptoms” escalated quickly. Always sounded a bit more serious as he hadn’t tweeted.

Donald Trump! Any chance he’s got underlying health conditions? Asking for a friend.
