The boy mezzanine has a pretty thankless task to be honest. AFC, Charlie Allan, the police, some sections of the AFC support, are all against the Ultras, so it's probably for the best (sadly).
Good post Jager.
I think you are seriously undervaluing the time and effort these guys went to raising money, creating the flags, and being in the ground many hours before kick off hanging banners (not just their own) and preparing their displays. And I think you are well wide of the mark saying "without giving anything appreciable back" IMHO. But never mind, there will be fuck all now from now on!
Got to say, some of their displays were amazing and really helped generate an atmosphere at what is a morgue at times these days. The European nights a couple of seasons ago were superb, and their tribute to the helicopter victims was quite something.
While they appear to have had some cretins in their group (e.g. the boy with the flare), some were far too quick to criticise the Red Ultras who at least make some attempt to liven up the atmosphere.
I don't think that's the case, McGhee is a much loved former player. I think its more the case that we should wonder if this would have happened had we be doing better on the pitch.
Folk should realise that all managers speak shite at times, and McGhee is every bit as guilty as Calderwood.
I'd rather see the talking done on the pitch.
I thought it was a great cup tie. Can't imagine the bigot derby being a better game than that.
Not sure how long Leeds will keep hold of Beckford, but if its a championship team that comes in for him, he's better off staying where he is.
