I did see ST's comment, but to be honest I thought it was harsh but fair.
Back on topic. One of WM's duties is the youth system, which was allegedly overhauled a couple of years ago. In another couple of years, we'll be able to judge whether its changed anything or not.
I personally enjoyed the letter about somebody claiming there was trouble in Munich.
This is exactly the level of intellectual debate I joined Donstalk for
I'm not sure this accusation of Miller being a failed businessman is entirely accurate. He used to run quite a few bars in Aberdeen and I'm sure he sold most on for profit? Obviously Harry Ramsdens was a disaster. But when the chips are down...
I've met him in Soul a couple of times, and he's always been very friendly and pleasant and comes across extremely well.
I'm not sure what he's done to get so much criticism from some people.
He's Milne's stooge, and I personally don't think he's got anything other than the club's best interests at heart.
Well, its supposed to be the position we finished in each competition in that year.
e.g. if we were knocked out in the quarter finals in a cup, then I put in 8th place for reaching the last 8.
The stats making up the graph were:
Season SPL Scottish Cup CIS Cup
1998-99 8 32 16
1999-00 10 2 2
2000-01 7 16 16
2001-02 4 8 16
2002-03 8 16 8
2003-04 11 8 8
2004-05 4 8 16
2005-06 6 16 8
2006-07 3 32 32
2007-08 4 4 4 (i.e. 4th place in league and two semi finals)
Neither can I, but the point being raised was that the history books will show the end results. In 10 years time, nobody (apart from Stoney) will be discussing allegedly playing 4-6-0 against Kilmarnock.
You're spot on about the crowds, but we've never had big crowds for some reason. However, two of the four teams with bigger crowds than us, finished below us in the league.
And, who's achieved more than us?
But still got us to 4th place, two cup semis, and the last 32 of the UEFA cup.
Ah, the "true fan" debate
Adding "in my opinion" to the above statement would have been better.
And where are we today? Still the third team in Scotland.
A lot of players are the same.
Some would suggest that explains Lee Miller's good form this season, as he was in the shop window with his contract coming up.
