  1. I couldn't stand him at the start of the season but he's certainly been one of our best performers this year. His scoring record is atrocious though. It seems all his game is about flick ons and holding the ball up, which he does extremely well. Not deserving of a payrise that's for sure, but I'd keep him. Unlike Zander, he didn't seem to be bothered if he got booked on Saturday.

  4. Interesting. I might be up for that.
  5. 15 points. 3rd place. Back in Europe. Job's a goodun. (well, maybe not)
  6. I made the mistake of saying to somebody when Steptoe came on, "There is no way he is going to come back to haunt us" so I must accept full responsibility for our loss on Saturday.

  8. Willie Miller in the EE (can't find the article on the website) basicaly saying Calderwood won't be getting sacked, and that there will be some squad rebuilding in the summer, once they sort out who's leaving from Miller/Nicholson/Lovell. An experienced centre back is one of the priorities for next season.
  9. Who? Getting a fee for Clark, let alone a 6 figure sum, was good business IMHO.
  10. Hart is a loss but did we not get a 6 figure sum for Clark?
  11. Its just been pointed out that the back 5 on Saturday was the very same back 5 that did so well against Celtic in the replay.
  12. However unlikely it may sound, we can still mathematically get 3rd place. Its probably not going to happen, but the team should go for it in the next two games. If we don't win both, then bin Miller and Nicholson if they haven't signed, and play some youngsters.
  13. I would play him but strip him of the captaincy. He appeared to be getting his form back until Saturday - excellent in both Celtic games. None of these players featured on Saturday, but yeah they probably shouldn't be near Pittodrie. But would Byrne have been any worse than McNamara on Saturday? At least he would have attempted to put a challenge in. That's definitely been the cause of most of the problems this season (particularly in the league) but, McNamara apart, the rest of the back 5 have been pretty much the same for a while now apart from when Zander was injured after the Celtic replay.
  14. What is exactly is wrong though? I dare say you'd get lots of different answers from the 14000 fans. Most of Saturday seemed to be down to piss poor defending and the players bottling it, along with Calderwood starting with McNamara and not taking him off at half-time.
  15. Yep. He had a poor game on Saturday along with the whole back 5. Cunts.
  16. At the start of the season if you were promised last 32 of the UEFA cup, 2 semi finals, and top six, then I would have taken it. The problem is that the two semi finals have been by far the two worse moments of the season. So near but yet so far it seems. To say we have nothing to show for Calderwood's 4 years is nonsense. Its been far better than previous regimes, we just wish it could have been a bit better! An amazing season of incredible highs and tragic lows.
  17. If we don't win the next two fixtures (and thereby rule out our slim chances of 3rd place) then I would start by dropping Miller and Nicholson if they are not willing to sign contracts. If they are definitely going to be off, then play players who will be here next season and/or blood some youngsters. Calderwood is going nowhere so we need to start planning for next season. Youth team are in the semi of the youth cup (our third cup semi of the season will no doubt end in failure though), so surely we have somebody who can step up? A change of captaincy might be a good idea also. Give Zander the opportunity to captain the team for a few games.
  18. Scotland on Sunday suggesting we're interested in signing him.
  19. Aye but yesterday we had 11 players on the pitch in a 4-4-2, in pretty much positions they should all be comfortable with and they fucked up, mainly in defence. McNamara clearly shouldn't have played, but the rest of the back 5 were awful too. Our players have no bottle.
