  1. Just finished reading "Touching from a distance" by Deborah Curtis. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Touching-Distance-Deborah-Curtis/dp/0571239560/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207210653&sr=8-1 What a sad, depressing story but very well written and thoroughly engrossing. It seemed a very honest account of her life with Ian Curtis and it didn't come across as bitchy or that she had any bridges to burn. I knew Ian had epilepsy but didn't realise it was so bad, at one point he was having up to 4 attacks per night. She was basically looking after him and their child single handedly until he went and had his affair. Obviously the book is one side of the story but Deborah did not have a good time of it and its easy to feel a lot of sympathy for her. Ian wasn't painted in a particularly good light but perhaps this was the real Ian. The book also includes a complete gig history (Joy Division played Aberdeen!) and all the lyrics. Got the book free with the Control DVD!
  2. I think you've answered your own question there!
  3. The one when Lee Miller holds it up for you first?
  4. They're not paying his wages, every player has a personal sponsor. See our award winning match day programme!
  5. Not got time for a Five Knuckle Shuffle then?

  7. Aye, 24th, day before the Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K which I'm entered in to.
  8. Is that an ultra wide TV on the left?
  9. I think somebody needs to clarify the meaning of "mediocrity". This season has been extremely inconsistent but to describe it as mediocre compared to the last 7 or 8 years is just nonsense IMHO. If we reach the last 32 of the UEFA cup, and two domestic semi finals for next 3 or 4 years, and that's mediocre, then I'll accept that. I personally think this is where we should be each season, as we've not had it like this for a while. Small steps and all that.
  10. Lets hope you get a migraine in Seal Clubber Country!
  11. I've just finished reading "Great Expectations". It wasn't all I hoped it would be.
  12. Crick's is over his whole life.
  13. I've read Crick's book and I thought it was an extremely well researched book and very fascinating.

  15. I'm not sure what the situation is but can the club do anything other than comply with Setanta/The SPL?

  17. Lee Wilkie? To hell with that. Lee Miller - one of the first names on the team sheet, will be a huge loss Steve Lovell - the Messiah Sone Aluko - can frustrate and excite at the same time, lots of quality though Josh Walker - hard working solid midfielder Jamie Smith - one of our star players, when fit Barry Nicholson - will be a huge loss Karim Touzani - finally getting a chance to show what he's capable off Jeffrey De Visscher - is improving Alan Maybury - best signing for a while
  18. What's all this Red Ultras shite? I see they are getting a hard time again. Pittodrie would be a morgue without them.
  19. Figures compiled in 2003: The Top Ten Artists in U.S. Album Sales Number Artist Album Sales 1 The Beatles 106,530,000 2 Garth Brooks 92,000,000 3 Led Zeppelin 83,620,000 4 Elvis Presley 77,280,000 5 Eagles 65,000,000 6 Billy Joel 63,250,000 7 Barbra Streisand 62,750,000 8 Elton John 61,620,000 9 Aerosmith 54,370,000 10 Pink Floyd 52,600,000 Someone's telling porkies! Looking at the above list, I think its fair to say a few British acts cracked the states, not just the Beatles!
  20. What have Lovell and Soutar contributed in Europe this season? I suspect Soutar may stay anyway.
  21. Lucky in that there is still a European spot available for the cup runners up, but not lucky in the way we'll have reached the final (if we do indeed reach the final). Beating Celtic in the cup was one of the highlights of the season. Some good points but I don't think we're missing Hart or Clark. Nicholson and Miller will be much bigger losses. But how are half the team leaving?
