  1. Terrible fishing but Brian Irvine springs to mind.
  2. But that's the clincher. Will we be in charge of it? If Salmond gets his way, we won't.
  3. They're now trying to ban Salmond from Council premises. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/news/local/alex-salmond-warned-he-s-unwelcome-on-aberdeen-council-property-1.249947
  4. This is not the perception I get in Aberdeen. The Treasury's intervention over the currency issue has strengthened the No vote as far as I can see. You could be right about the Commonwealth games although I'm not sure Scotland is going to be very successful.
  5. That would explain why I got tickets then.
  6. Strange, just went onto the AFC ticket website and bought 3 tickets, despite not meeting the criteria.
  7. I'm begging to wonder if I'll get tickets, I can't purchase until next Monday as I don't have a buying history for this season plus I ditched my season ticket after McGhee's 1st season, and my shares are not enough to get me a ticket. I guess it serves me right however I bet there's many with tickets already who have not been to a game in many many years!
  8. There's two M&S in Aberdeen. The other one is in Union Sq and is home and food. It's not an insignificant sized shop. I take the point though.
  9. But you think Coldplay are tremendous.
  10. Apart from IKEA what big retailers are you referring to?
  11. Indeed. They need to invest in Union Street, far too many closed shops. Denburn is not far away but why can't whoever is penciled in for Denburn, move into Union Steet!? I doubt these clowns will get voted back in at the next local elections.
  12. Current votes: 31% A) Grant Anderson, Raith Rovers 5% B) Nadir Ciftci, Dundee Utd 3% C) Stevie May, St Johnstone 60% D) Peter Pawlett, Aberdeen 1% E) David Templeton, Rangers
  13. Christ, things are pretty rosey for us at the moment!

    Films

Elysium - pretty decent, would recommend if you enjoyed District 9 as it has the same gritty sci-fi feel about it (same director) The Butler - really good, some performance from big Forest Whittaker Last Vegas - average at best
  15. See Jute's response for the point I was trying to convey.
  16. For the home games, it's clear that UEFA don't give a fuck about the fans anymore.
  17. You don't understand the difference between having your currency run by another country, than run by a union of countries of which you are a member of?
  18. Not according to the treasury, there is no deal on a currency union at the moment. But as you say there would be no difference, we wouldn't be an independent country either way.
  19. I'm in Queensland at the moment. Brisbane is very nice, and the gold coast was pretty stunning although rather Touristy. Australia is fucking expensive though, I'm glad its a business trip. I'm in Gladstone at the moment, sweating like a TOTP 1975 editor.

The World's End - great cast and fantastic soundtrack (Primal Scream, Blur, Suede, Happy Mondays, St Etienne, Pulp etc...). Rather disappointing film though, it was just a bit too silly.
  21. Salmond seems to be caught between a rock and a hard place. Try and force through a currency Union and be governed by the Bank of England, or go with the Euro which is a shambles. Perhaps they'll come up with their own currency? I suspect the decision on the currency, which absolutely has to be crystal clear before the vote, could be the clincher for many.
  22. Yet again, morons in our support making the wrong sort of headlines. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-26058463
  23. Too early to say IMHO.
  24. Seemingly found with a needle in his arm.
  25. Is that a woosh or are you being pedantic?
