But not enough is being done by the authorities, the fines being handed out are a complete joke. Until high profile players start walking off, UEFA will continue to pay lip service to it. As Tom has said, there's probably going to be a media frenzy now which is probably good. If racists feel empowered by this then the authorities should start banning clubs or forcing them not to have their own support at games.

Given that football authorities are hopeless when it comes to dishing out suitable fines for this sort of thing, I don't agree with Seedorf. While it's sad for the fans who just want to see a game, by walking off it sends out the message that footballers are getting fed up of racism and if UEFA can't deal with it, the victims will make the decision for them. Hopefully its a big wake up call for football authorities in continental Europe.

Saw The Hobbit last night, I enjoyed it. It took a while to get going but there's some great scenes, particularly one between Gollum and Bilbo. The 2 hours 50 minutes passed quite quickly which is good. For any LOTR geeks, there seems to be a continuity problem as when we are told during the LOTR trilogy of how Bilbo originally acquired the one ring, that seems to have changed somewhat in the Hobbit!
