  1. I will give credit where it's due, that's a very solid interview from Nisbet on RTV. He genuinely seems like he really wants to be here and actually seems a bit brighter than I had previously given him credit for. He also said he's had a good pre season and ready to play so I'm interested to see what kind of physical condition he is in tomorrow. Given all the chat about professionalism I did raise an eyebrow at this comment from Thelin “He also has all the personal attributes we look for in a player and we believe his energy will have an instant impact with our supporters.” I know it's early days with Thelin but to me he does seem very in tune with these sorts of things. I certainly don't have any doubts that Thelin has done his due diligence on Nisbet and will be more than aware of his past. Nor do I doubt that Thelin made the final decision on this, he was very much in a sellers market when cormack came calling so I doubt having to accept players he's not approved will be part of his contract. This does give me a bit more confidence that this may be a good move after all. If there was an option to buy I think it probably would have been mentioned by now. I had a look on social media at what Millwall fans were saying and they are fairly bitter and sneering of him. 2 mill is a significant outlay for them though 2bf and I'm not sure all is well behind the scenes there. An option to buy could have been looked into but I suspect Millwall would have wanted that fee to be high 6/low 7 figures which would likely kill that idea dead.
  2. Pretty underwhelmed by this 2bh, I agree that he's a solid striker at this level but I question the boys professionalism. That said, he's 27 now and maybe the penny has dropped that he doesn't have too long left in the game to make something resembling an impact on it. If that's the case and he comes in with an improved attitude this may yet prove a shrewd bit of business because he defo knows where the net is. I'm interested if we have an option to make it permanent or if this is seen as a stop gap from the outset.
  3. This is not a player that could be brought straight into the first team if that pic is recent. As I said, I've got a feeling/increasing by the day hope that this is just paper talk.
  4. Seems like paper talk to me, bar keskinen which was probably leaked by Helsinki all business so far has been very discreetly done until they are in the door already. I wouldn't necessarily be adverse to Nisbet but I'm far from convinced he would be the no 9 we are looking for.
  5. I actually wouldn't be adverse to granting them it. The best thing to happen to Scottish football since the play offs came in has been 3rd place getting guaranteed group stage football but we do need teams to perform in Europe to keep it. It would be better for the coefficient to have 4 Scottish clubs in the the group stages than 3 even if it is a long shot.
  6. There is absolutely no danger we saw enough of him in the 15 minutes he was on the pitch to make a judgement on what his best position is. Not even close.
  7. Pretty sure I saw someone like Chris harvie posting words to that effect the other day
  8. So what's everyone's thoughts on the Gaffer so far then? I was cautiously optimistic about the appointment after looking at his record and I was particularly encouraged when I heard he was something of geek from a Swedish journo. Since then he has hugely grown on me I have to say. He's always calm and forthright, the team is shaping up quite nicely under him so far, he showed against St J he's tactically flexible and clearly the players like playing for him and his coaching staff. B+ on his report card, so far so good.
  9. Just watched Thelins presser, both are in the squad and I'm quite surprised at how excited I am to see these guys in red. So given that, fully expect season ending injuries to both of them because that's how life normally works for me
  10. Do we even know if they have work permits yet?
  11. Hope springs eternal he will come back before he retires, the club has clearly got under his skin a bit. I watched the Girona game last night away to Betis. It is, of course, a big step up from playing in Scotland but there's plenty of talent in that team to make chances for him.
  12. A genuine class act.
  13. Only just saw it, absolutely glorious. And VAR couldn't ruin it either
  14. I wont sully the forum by posting the link but there is some cracking schadenfreude to be had over on hun media and swallow swallow.
  15. Apparently we are looking to spend 500k on adama sidebeh off the farmers. Can't say I even recognise the name but that is absolutely my failing I'm sure.
  16. Bye bye Bojan, it has truly been a pleasure. I'm sure you weren't the only person inside Pittodrie with a tear in their eye today. Great result, not overly delighted with the performance which I felt was patchy but overall, comedy defending for their goal aside, we were fairly comfortable at least. Looking forward to seeing what Palaversa and Keskinen are going to bring because it's defo going to be something we don't have currently. Hopefully they will both be available for Queens Park next week but even if they are not they will surely be in for Killie at home the week after. Pleased to see Gueye and Vinny score and what a ball in from Shinnie for Vinnie's btw.
  17. Usually very solid, palavaser must be part of it but I really hope we have a weapon grade sell on clause cos that seems low even including the player.
  18. I've just gone down a topi keskinen rabbit hole on YT and I tell you what, this kid excites me. I know, I know YT highlight reels are unreliable but these two reels are from the last two seasons and he keeps doing the same over and over Like he REALLY excites me. Rapid, great touch, good with both feet, loves a worldy.... Strong too. This boy will have a field day in this league imo. Now, I don't ask this next question lightly as it's about my favourite ever footballer. Does anyone else see a wee bit of a young, pre leg break, Eoin Jess in the way this boy plays or is it just me?
  19. That has to be a lost a bet Tat
  20. You're just way classier than I am Al
  21. Apologies for the source but apparantly they turned down a mill from Blackburn for him. If this happens, and I'm far from convinced given how under the radar all business under Thelin so far has been conducted, but if it does that would be some statement of intent from the club. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/topi-keskinen-aberdeen-transfer-thelin-33429092?fbclid=IwY2xjawEi03pleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHeUodMS92VJbAbLHPa7FWr1DPbxdq1PEtZFHXuFUyC2yPLeWEvA6mhOHng_aem_GRu0qbdDaqlDyZpUiQJ8_Q
  22. The only way that would happen is if the window was about to close. I think it will be fine
  23. That is interesting, good knowledge slim
  24. Well, this is a very interesting bit of business https://www.afc.co.uk/2024/08/08/palaversa-makes-pittodrie-move/
