  1. As would i but we are short of midfielders with Clarkson and Polvara out for ages. A loan makes sense if the kid is a higher standard than we have in our own youth ranks already and especially if he gets sent back in January when Polvara and Clarkson are available again. You could argue you could take in one midfielder on loan and still give our own youth more of an opportunity than they would have got without those injuries.
  2. Nilsen really caught my eye last night, he's a metronome player that just keeps it all ticking over nicely. His through ball for the second was lovely, it's the kind of ball I want to see from Clarkson more often 2bh.
  3. I reckon it will be the most competitive league in Europe 2bh mate. When you look at the clubs involved with a bit of luck any of them could win it. It will probably be won by a very low overall points total and the gap between top club and bottom come the end of the season will likely be very small. Hell, you couldn't even say for certain that it will be double figure points gap though that would be insane. Also, unless one team completely collapses whoever gets relegated will get relegated with a record points total.
  4. I have found it interesting the club haven't hung him out to dry when they would be quite entitled to. It's not impossible there is more to this, perhaps a sick relative he wants to be closer to. Re squad size etc, we clearly need new recruits but there's still plenty left of the window and the August fixtures have been fairly kind at least.... St Mirren at home on Sunday will defo be a test but they are in Europe on Thursday so hoping for a wee hangover. Fwiw I think Thelin will not be rushed into making signings. I get the frustration at the lack of progress in rebuilding the squad but given some of the scatter gun signings we have consistently made, window after window, in the cormack era I'm pleased to see a bit more prudence. Hopefully we will see some movement on the Miovski front this week though as it's becoming an ever bigger elephant in the room. Defo keep McKenzie, he has become a good lb at this level. His positional sense has improved hugely and he makes a lot of smart runs now too. If he was a couple of yards quicker off the mark he would be worth a fair bit more. I would like to see competition for him though as I remain unconvinced by Mcgarry though not to the extent others are, I just don't think I have seen him play enough in red to make a full judgement 2bh. I also like mancs idea of trying him further forward as he is quick, allegedly has goals in him and he's a left footer.
  5. Miovski is actually the problem re the lack of recruitment. We clearly want to sell him and we will get good money for him should we do so. It does seem prudent for Thelin to want to wait to see what he has to play with budget wise before taking in new faces.
  6. A few Raith fans online saying they have been guff since the turn of the year but no idea how accurate that is.
  7. Still 0-0 at Tynecastle, the huns were all kinds of guff in the first half but have had a wee spell of dominance at the start of the second and are unlucky not be ahead but hearts are coming back into it. Hearts new rb Taylor looks a real find, solid at the back and quick to go forward. 6ft tall too, he's going to cause a lot of teams problems.
  8. I was saying to my neighbour yesterday it's impossible to call. Dunfermline, Raith, Partick, Falkirk, Morton, Airdrie, Livi, Queens park, Hamilton and Ayr. This could be the the closest professional league in the world this year not only in terms of number of teams challenging for the top spot but in points difference between top and bottom.
  9. Falkirk Queens park has been fun so far. 2 goals in 3 minutes of the second half starting have the score at 2-1 Falkirk. I defo reckon the championship will be great value this season.
  10. If Morris does start I would be playing him on the left, he looks more effective there
  11. If you can't name drop those two on a football forum then who could you? Next time don't be such a lil' puss though. They are just people ffs, no harm in asking for a minute of their time.... They can only say no and I put it to you Alex Ferguson wouldn't have a problem with saying that to anyone
  12. Yeah I miscounted, thought we had another one after vinny. Had a few beers today
  13. If Miovski is taken on with five to go I reckon he is off next week
  14. What seems nuts is after saying gueye was playing as a winger this season Thelin has put him at no 10 when he would easy to put on the wing. He's got stuck in so far 2bf
  15. Aye, I've already thought myself he's far more wenger at ht than fergie.
  16. Don't know what you were all moaning about
  17. Thelin can defo give a ht team talk
  18. That was fairly grim. No changes at half time is a little surprising given Thelin has shown he's not averse to that. Oh, what a goal jack mackenzie
  19. He absolutely does, there are few African players in the Elfsborg squad and he moved a few on last window too I believe. Re Miovski, cormack would only sell to the ugly sisters if they made an offer too good to turn down (so 10 mill or above I would say) which they are never going to pay.
  20. Hard to know what to make of yesterday 2bh, the game was over the moment Devlin scored. We did score some nice goals and you do get the feeling the likes of mcgrath and Clarkson are being given a bit more freedom to try things. That chip from JM was very naughty, even if the goalie wasn't taller than 5 10". Morris took his goal well yesterday 2bf, it was all about the first touch but the solid finish on the weaker foot was also notable. Maybe the kid is better suited as an inside forward. Jensen in midfield was.... Interesting? Perhaps JT just having a look at how he does in that role for emergency situations and to get some minutes in his legs. He didn't look awful but at that stage of the game and level of opposition that's hardly a ringing endorsement. I'm a bit surprised some seem to be writing off McGrath, I think he's been a really good bit of business so far and fully expect him to be a key player this season. Ultimately we are basically still in pre season, there's still plenty business to be done and the starting 11 come the end of August will probably look a bit different to than it did today.
  21. See Tom Widows signature
  22. Interesting move, wonder how much input Thelin had in the decision.
  23. This could be a great tournament for getting a bigger sell on fee for Rama, Albania 1 up on Croatia already.
  24. Nerves are starting to get awfully jingly jangly today. The one advantage of never qualifying was the only thing you had to stress about was England doing well.
  25. This, I just can't see Cormack selling to them. That said if he went to the huns he would be dead to me, as would Cormack for allowing it.
