Not a bad performance last night, I agree with tyrant that smith looked really promising. He fell away in the second half but I really like the look of him. Could be a real talent. I thought Flood was superb also, really broke up the thistle midfield. I said previous that I thought Thistle were no pushovers and I maintain that, especially if you look at the stats from last nights game. We just were ridiculously clinical. Goals one and three were individual efforts but two and four, whilst quite direct, were beautifully intricate to a level I had long given up hoping to see from Aberdeen. Most pleasing for me though was how varied the play was. Long balls were a valid, effective yet not over-used option and the ball mostly stayed on the deck. My only real criticism can be the pissing about with tiny passes on the edge of the box just after goal 3 that led to a chance for them. It was cocky and unneeded. All in it's been a very long time since I have felt so confident and pleased with Aberdeens form and I am very much enjoying giving some non afc fans a long overdue reminder just how much of a nightmare a smug sheep shagger is

Just watched the celtic utd highlights on the bbc page. Instantly noticed a lot of empty seats at the tattiebowl so I checked the attendance which they are claiming 47386 No danger that's accurate and from the turgid stuff i saw on the highlights i reckon a few more will be staying at home in the near future.

For sure, it's a tough one. Hebrew is spot on, they are a massive club by comparison but then again so are Barnsley and he turned them down flat. He has a real affection for the place, is very settled and, as you say, has it all going well at ICT (though I would add the disclaimer that ICT are not as well run as the public perception) so why go? I wasn't surprised that he dinghied Barnsley, even posted on here that I thought he would. I suspect that butcher really loves Scottish football, pretty much all his top moments as player (club anyway) and manager came here. I think the Hibs job may just turn his head a little, he's 54 now too so it may cross his mind that he might not get many such offers again, would I be right in saying he's now the oldest manager in the league come to think of it? Thing is I cant help but think that Butcher has found his level a wee bit at ICT, if he goes I would find it very interesting to see if he was able to replicate his success. Malpas would have to go to, from what I hear he is the brains of the outfit and butcher is the motivator.

that's fair, when a keeper fucks up its a lot more noticeable too. That said we have changed a lot of the outfield personnel whilst JL is still in goal. I'm delighted the team is playing so well and with such unity. I'm delighted JL is racking up the clean sheets too but I still have my doubts about him.

I reckon he's decent TF. I also reckon he has a tendency to choke in big games and I can't just forget that. Here's hoping that's something of the past

I'm sick I had to miss this. Clangers ability had never been in doubt for me, it's the fact that he has bottled it in big games so many times that have been his downfall. Not to be negative but if he palms a weak shot into the net in the semi to lose the game would anyone be surprised regardless of current form? I think not. It's going to take more than 8 clean sheets to convince me he is now the real deal, I would be interested to know if anyone thinks that's harsh? Anderson has always been class, was delighted when we re-signed him and its great to see him get a run of games in which he's not really had since returning. Who do we want in the semi? Possibly a bit harsh but time will tell. To be fair he had blackpool playing some great stuff in the first half of their PL season. Palace were not ready for the PL and were always going down regardless of manager. I think Holloway is more of an astute manager than he is given credit a lot of the time, probably because he is known for being amusing.

Yeah that's terrible for them etc etc. This no bad thing for us though given the previous fixture will be a midweek cup tie that could easily go to et and pens. The extra couple of days recovery time will be needed as thistle are no pushovers.
