  1. Very much this. Would be rather interesting to see Klopp's Barca side taking on Pep's Bayern. City are likely to be bidding farewell to Pellegrini and they would be an attraction you would think.... but more than Real or Barca (one of their respective managers will likely be replaced come the end of the season)? It's hard to say, he's a man of principle and therefore might throw a bit of a curveball like pep did when he went to Bayern. City do have a lot to offer though and for someone like Klopp he might just fancy it. As new boys on the big fish in the european pond stage (kinda though yet to do anything in Europe) they have yet to really establish what type of big club they want to be.... Klopp could go in there and be the first to make city truly one of the big fish. That would appeal to him I think.
  2. in supporters bus/golf club main supporters bus 2-0 or maybe 3-1.... can see us winning by two but despite their recent run I don't expect an easy game. Rooney maclean (it's gotta happen sometime) and hayes I missed the game on sunday sadly but from what I hear I would keep the starting line up bar maybe taylor for daniels. Smith should absolutely be keeping his place though, Pawlett has been not very effective the past few months and Smith has more to offer and hitting a bit of form. Flood appears to be returning to his pre injury form, he had a good game against ICT and kept the likes of Tansey pretty quiet. I know he splits opinion but when he's on his game he's a very effective player for us and you can see no-one likes playing against him. Am i right in thinking he started alongside SM who was playing a more centre mid role? If so how did they look together?
  3. Not if we win the game
  4. Completely agree, having a popular song seems to have gone to his head. That said the obsession with playing him centrally hasn't helped, he's far more effective on the flanks
  5. Jack may yet take a year or two year extension, no chance longer than that though.
  6. I chose Rooney Hayes and Logan
  7. Steady, He's had a couple of really good games (hamilton away springs to mind) but at best he has become a reasonable FB. I will be livid if Shinnie is deployed anywhere outside of LB unless its an emergency
  8. I think Low and Smith will step up quite nicely with regards to midfield so I don't think we need to look at midfield. It's a shame about goodwillie as he's clearly talented but you cant see where to put him in the team at the moment. Goalkeeper is clearly the must have signing, CH second on the list.
  9. Don't recall Rooney having a bad game, best striker since shearer all day long and very much my player of the year
  10. Nothing wrong with a bit of schadenfraude gents. Even if they spent twenty mill I can't imagine then getting much value for it
  11. Any child of mine will be indoctrinated from day one
  12. Food has been one of the better performers so far, nothing is working for pawlett.
  13. If we play anything like we did against thistle Inverness will rinse us. In driving through main heading to glasgow really hard to predict a score for tonight, optimistically I'll go 2-1 Hayes and Rooney

    Fit like?

I love this site, it's a staple of my internet diet!. Decent dons chat and debate where you can agree to disagree without it getting personal for the most part..... like any forum there is the occasional rocket but thats easy enough to ignore
  15. I wonder if this is in preparation for a safe standing section

    Scott Bain

No danger gee will see out that contract, some one will pay big money for him within the next two years
  17. I refuse to do this on principle, the thought is giving me the boke
  18. Nail, head, nicely hit Jute. The starting formation yesterday was nothing short of bizarre, no one really seemed to know who was playing wide right. Rooney, flood, Maclean and hayes all made appearances there during the first half and as a result we lacked balance and width. I, obviously, have a lot of love for DM but he tactically got it very badly wrong yesterday and not for the first time this year (and note I said year not season). When a team sheet comes out these days I don't even bother trying to figure out what formation we will be playing anymore because he is so fond of throwing a curve-ball. As Jute says 442 would have been ideal yesterday, hayes left, pawlett of Mcginn right maclean and jack in the middle. He said post match that we had put plenty of balls into the box but you could count on one hand the number of times anyone did so from the by line. The constant over complication of strategy is starting to hurt us and needs to stop, there is nothing wrong with playing a simple strategy like 442, especially when it allows your players to play their natural positions. Honestly, who the fuck wants to see Adam Rooney playing on the flank?
  19. Showed a decent touch a few times but there was little service so hard to judge manc
  20. We were pretty awful today, no idea what dm was trying to do with the formation at the start.
  21. Agreed al
  22. I'd have preece over Brown and langfield any day of the week. Also tyrant is right about calderplank, the man mistook ritchie byrne for a footballer ffs
  23. I could understand letting gms go as he was out of contract but they should have made celtic pay through the nose for armstrong instead of slightly less than market value. Wouldn't have happened under Eddie, I reckon ST has his hand in the till here.
  24. I'm not suggesting taking a foot off the pedal ST, just changing things up a wee bit. It's hardly unwarranted either as we have looked a bit less fluent recently and our results have shown that, only 4 points from the last 9. Add to that the goals that we got against Motherwell were a little fortunate. Not saying we didn't deserve to win the game but the points were very much gifted to us and I don't remember too many other gilt edged chances. This combined with the poor second half performances at Dens and the San Giro makes me think a few changes are warranted both in personnel and strategy. I would argue that the team needs to have a bit more practice at playing in a more attack minded way for the games to come where we need to throw caution to the wind to get a goal. Not going to win the league but 8 points clear of third with two games to come against them is a good position to be in and I think DM can afford to experiment a little more than he normally would. With Shankland scoring a brace internationally last night it's time to be giving him some starts I reckon.
  25. So the league is fucked. Such is life, it's not unexpected. Gutting because it was impossible not to dream a little bit but not unexpected. 9 games left and with ICT trailing by 8 points you have to think second is all but confirmed (yes I know we threw it away last year but I don't think we will now). I think this is a good opportunity to give Shankland a run in the team. Eg go 442, drop flood, play Maclean and Jack in the centre and give the kid a run up alongside Rooney for a few games. Low should be given an opportunity too, he looked pretty decent earlier in the season.
