I notice in the poll that black is by a country mile the most popular appointment for donstalkers. Does anyone think this is a fair reflection of the support as a whole?
-
Well i want a gold plated khazi...... lets hope hughes is just as disapointed as i am
-
HA! Yeah i did but it didnt mean i wasnt aware of it previously, got a good friend who's an arab and he's been bitching about how useless the midfield is without those two
-
Whoever the new man he will surely take a good long hard look at the squad before making any signings. I would be pretty pissed if he spent money on strikers instead of a new centre half (mihadjuks has been released by ICT and i thought he looked pretty usefull), right back and central midfielder. Miller, bebo, paton, mackie, aluko and wright can all play there. They just need improved service (tin hat on).
-
I would not be particularily delighted with john hughes as i dont think he's the man for the job. All that really goes in his favour for me is that he has a really good record with developing youth.
-
Aye but when the scum are in town its normally on the telly which keeps folk away. Given the odds were pretty much with us to snatch europe from utd i thought we would have had 17 18 easy but maybe your right and im being a bit generous. Who knows?
-
You misinterpret me, by bullshit i mean the inane droning on usually reiterating the same thing over and over which JC press releases were full of over the 5 years
-
Given what was at stake i dont think im totally out of line to expect 4000 more. Hell if i hadnt had a once in a lifetime opportunity i was coming through and i am seriously skinters at the mo TF. All im saying is i think its important to get a manager that the fans will back straight away to get season ticket sales up.
-
I just looked up his record, its pretty good to be fair with promotion two years on the trot. The only thing im wary about is the whole sentimental aspect of appointing him
-
The attendance was 14083. Aye thats massive
-
Fair dues kow but i like him and his style. Utd were playing some very decent football up till january when they lost their starting central midfielders flood and robertson, if you look at their results thats where they started to dip.
-
Maybe but there were a lot of people saying they would not renew season tickets or even go back under calderwood. This is what im getting at by saying we need to get people through the turnstiles. I couldnt help but notice in the highlights that there were big spaces in the stands on sunday in what was a very big game.
-
Och he's blowing his own trumpet a bit too much for my liking. I have fond memories of his tenure but i cant say i will remember him fondly mainly for bullshit press statements like that.
-
Ok so i feel somewhat out of the loop as i was down at the liverpool game, got offered a free ticket and lift down and back and thought why not. Anyway. What i regard as important here is we fill the following criteria aside from the ability to actually coach and manage. The new man knows scottish football, at the moment we are completely reliant on scottish players so we need someone who has experience of the scottish leagues and developing young players. From the word go he needs to be someone the fans will unite behind. One of JC's biggest problems was sections of the support were never convinced and attendances have suffered. We need that money, its probably the biggest influence in JC getting shown the door. The only way i can see this happening is if the new man has been here before and done well. Way i see it is the only men mentioned that tick both box's are Strachan, Mcleish, Miller, Black or Mcghee and realistically its between Black and Mcghee. My personal preference is Black but i will not be disapointed with Mcghee. For the record i would love levein but i dont think he would come nor do i think the support would unite behind him
-
One step at a time but hell yeah, why not? They are not the power to be feared they once were
-
Aye teams would be able to play their defence quite high to say the least. They wouldnt enjoy defending crosses though. Dont get me wrong, im not in any way saying i want to sign him just playing devils advocate
-
EXACTLY! I was going to mention the dutch league as a goods example. The Playing field in scotland is definately levelling a bit. The gruesome twosome are always going to have the financial advantage but every club in scotland is focusing on youth development as its priority and starting to see results. Bebo is def starting to bear fruit and pawlett and paton show promise. At utd kenneth and goodwillie are getting pretty decent and i quite like the look of the smith at motherwell. The Old firms power in the past has always extended from their large squads but more and more increasingly two or three injuries at once is screwing them royally. I think over the next 5 years the gap is going to close a bit more (though they will always have the added financial advantage, dodgy ref decisions etc etc) and other teams will put up a fight for 2nd. Can but hope anyway
-
Thats why i have never really wanted him but there's no denying he's a handfull. I think our setpieces (which we are quite good at especially with Mulgrew behind the ball) would be very dangerous with him, miller and diamond in the box>

Seebass man, you do come out with some really random posts
-
Thats brilliant!!!!!! Talk about socking it too them

Bloody hell, i was out on the lash last night, got a stinking hangover and come on here to find all this. What a fucking mess, end off. Kerr not playing is a big big blow for saturday, thought he was excellent against the huns. Might have to play vidal in there as i cant see seve getting moved when we are up against fletcher and riordan. I will be interested to find out if calderwood knew about this in advance. I remember seeing an interview with neil simpson about fergie busting him having a couple of drinks the night before the game in his local. Fergie got a tip off (had eyes everywhere apparently) and was straight down the the pub. Walks in and asks simspon what he's drinking, "just coke boss" simpson replies and fergie snatches it out his hand and smells it. He gives him it back gets right up close and says "see monday in training....... Your dead" That was in the 80's FFS when i t was a lot more acceptable for players to drink a lot.

Last game of the season - how will it go?
tlg1903 replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I think you would need a planefull of those wipes before you could start to feel clean again -
I agree, thought the nonchalence he showed made it look so classy

Are Does anyone have mackies goal? Looked around online and cant find it. Cant really argue with langfield. I would go as far as to say he has been the best keeper in the SPL this season. Certainly no one i would swap him for at the moment. He should be given a contract extension in my opinion Edit http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/1223174 Positive noises from the keeper formerly known as clangers
