The proof will be in the champions league pudding as to just how good utd are this season. I think people have been saying they are a poor side this season because they havnt been playing the most attractive football compared with other fergie teams. We lost the game in midfeld, just didnt have enough imagination. Thought young and milsom worked really hard and milsom had some classy moments but the lack of options screwed us. Motherwell were not really any better than us and were on the back foot for a large part of the second half. Had we had even jack fit today i think we would not have lost let alone fyvie folly and hartley. Bebo was very frustrating today it must be said though, far too cocky with no product to match

I fully agree with the above sentiments on the top six as an achievement for afc. I remember early in the JC years a winner gets into the top six game at ict which we won 1-0 through steve lovell (great bounce incidently and i had a field day in the town that night). Reason i mention it was during the game a guy behind me shouted at foster when he deemed him not to be making enough effort "Cmon foster min your playin for the top six here!!!!!!" I couldnt help but think it was pretty pathetic that he cared so much about such a flimsy achievement. Anyway i will say this though. If we do make top six this season it is a bit of an achievement though for Craig Brown and not for the club. When he took over i would have snapped your hand off for the opp still to be in with a shout of finishing in the top half of the table with 4 games to play before the split. I cant help but think we would be already in the top six if fyvie and folly had remained fit though

I think the negativity towards RM is somewhat harsh. If you look at some of the players that have come up to the spl in recent years and done really well it shows that the drop in standard from the spl isnt as high as it used to be. Swanson and conway at utd, stevenson and templeton and webster at hertz all spring to mind. Some of these boys started of their careers at bigger clubs too before dropping down to the lower leagues, impressing, then getting back to being pro's again. If we sign RM then its clearly because CB thinks he's worth a shot and should be treated as such, treating him with contempt just because he came from being part time is fucking stupid. I know for a fact that the boy had an attitude problem as a kid (see my earlier post on this thread) and i also know from someone he works with that he's really started screwing the nut over the past year or so. His form suggests he is worthy of a second chance, i have been very frustrated by some of the bargains that have been picked up from the lower leagues over the past 5 years by other clubs when afc have clearly been clueless as to the players existence. I hope we do sign him, he was a player of real potential as a kid and maybe he's on the verge of realising it.
