  1. You gotta give me some of what you've been having if think a. mackie can glide past anyone and b. will score a goal on sat let alone several
  2. Yep totally correct on both points. As far as the management are concerned they have till christmas to improve our league positions. By most accounts we've not played badly the last few games so here's hoping as we cannot afford to be sacking a manager thats on such a long contract.
  3. Listening to the quarter final replay game against celtic last season. I was in the falklands and you can get radio 5 down there, it was the commentry game by some miracle and i decided to go to the gym. When mackie scored i was on the cross trainer and promptly fell off spectacularly and much to the amusment of everyone else. Didnt care for about 10 seconds though then realised what i had just done and sheepishly got back on. Not my finest hour
  4. You raise some interesting points but i dont think everyone is polarised in their opinions. A lot of fans like myself have backed calderwood for years stating that its a results driven business and regardless of how they have been achieved that JC had some impressive ones under his belt. These same fans were also annoyed with his constant tinkering with the side and quite frankly ridiculous tactical choices but were prepared to look past this given that results for the most part were going our way. Clearly this season this has not happened, hence posts like this. If we take a shoeing at home from a very average hibs side then i think its quite right that knives are getting sharpened
  5. Personally im kinda stuck between two and three
  6. I've read join me and yes man, is this of similar calibre?
  7. jet - are you going to be my girl
  8. Brookmyre is really good but truth be told his earler stuff is a bit snappier. Just finished reading a snowball in hell and its highly enjoyable but just doesnt have the same punch as not the end of the world or quite ugly one morning
  9. yeah miller hasnt really set the heather alight in terms of goal scoring but some of his link up play is really good. I blame his lack of goals on the lack of decent service all the strikers get. Our "wide" players very rarely seem to hit the byline to cross and our centre mids aint really kings of the through ball.
  10. "Jimmy calderwood in pointless news story shocker". Instead of spouting crap about trophys when we have 3 months before we play our next cup game howsabout focusing on training the defence to not concede sloppy goals. 1st goal on sat was completely preventable and clangers should have come for the second
  11. going 451 would be the way forward for this game. kerr in front of the defence with seve and mcdonald in front of him.
  12. Load of bollocks considering that the problems have been in defence where the only changes have been the constant swapping about of the back 4. Fair enough mulgrew came in but he settled pretty much straight away
  13. I think the most fucked thing about calderwood is that it cant be argued he has been our most succesfull manager in recent years. Despite this the fans have never taken to him (myself included), yet when we were the worst team in europe under ebbe he had the full support of the fans. We're a strange bunch its gotta be said
  14. Disagree with that, jeffries knows the scottish game inside out, consistently finds good buys from lower leagues, knows how to develop players from his youth system, is tactically very astute and doesnt gob off in the press pointlessy. In fact thinking about it jeffries is clearly the anti calderwood. If calderwood does go (dont think he will though) i would want jeffries, mcghee or black..... in that order
  15. Yep i find it hard to argue with any of that. Its to early to be booting him out of the door though the relegation-esque home form is providing a lot of ammunition for the pointed guns. We started really poorly last season, remember having similar conversations this time last year, so on the positive side we know calderwood can handle it though negatively why is it happening again? I reckon JC will turn results around though he will never have the full backing of the support. Sooner or later we are going to have to replace the manager but lets hope its because he gets poached by a championship side rather than sacking him.
  16. I quite agree, from all accounts mair and considine seemed to not only be on good form but have a good understanding together. I can understand why JC would want to bring his captain back in to the side but in hindsight he should have gone into midfield
  17. Last year and a half in the job i thought russel really came into his own, was a lot more verbal and a real leader on the park
  18. :hammer: :hammer:
  19. I had a wee look into that and booth played the game after the minkerwell game but that was his last game in red. Patersons run in was abysmall. Lost the last 5 games on the trot. Looking at it made me realise that however much i get annoyed with some of calderwoods tactics or player selection only 4 years ago things were fucking woefull!!!!
  20. Pretty confident about this game which worrys me. Last time i was confident of getting 3 points we lost to fucking inverness
  21. more down to booths play one game then miss three through injury that ensured he didnt get a new contract. Incidently not good enough for calderwood as booth was still available for a new deal when he took over
  22. think this is more an article to point out to mair that he's in the team because of injuries but if he keeps current form up he's got a chance of being first choice. I.e dont rest on your laurels son
  23. Smith injury concern for Aberdeen Smith (left) in action during Aberdeen's recent win over Ayr Aberdeen could be without Jamie Smith for up to two weeks after the midfielder picked up a calf injury. The 27-year-old was sidelined with a similar injury last season and is set to miss the upcoming matches against Hamilton and Dundee United. Assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl told Red TV: "It's come at a bad time for him if it's any longer than two weeks. But we'll have to wait to find out." Zander Diamond and Scott Severin are nearing a return from injury. Midfielder Severin has not featured in Aberdeen's last two games while Diamond last played in the 1-0 victory over Motherwell on 16 August. Nicholl added: "Scott Severin and Zander Diamond came back this morning in training. They were a very high standard as well - they were excellent." Oh well see ya in the last few games of the season then jamie
  24. Aye i thought that, whats this lads story?
  25. I see it as more utilising the versatility of players and if going 343 its putting most players bar seve in arguably their best positions. I.e. mulgrew and foster in midfield and smith and aluko up front
