Aye but you get to laugh at utd fans for ages about this. Swings and roundabouts
-
Goodwin also said still wanting one more creative player in. Must still be after ronan
-
Just watching Goodwins presser now. Aye thats the bad news. The good news is Coulson should be back training next week. Gutted for roberts but at least we are well stocked in his position.
-
Not yet, nothing on roberts either. Goodwin will be doing his Motherwell presser today so should find out then.
-
I don't think we have seen him play anywhere near enough as a lcb to say that with any certainty 2bh. In fact the only times we have to my memory has been against celtic and St m and I didn't think he didn't look out of place at all.
-
I don't agree he's wasted in defence.
-
I have mixed feelings on ramirez. He's going to be on a big wedge and if he's just going to sit on the bench most of the season that wage could be better deployed. That said he is an effective striker at this level. I disagree about Miovski and Duk though. Miovski looks like a much quicker and technically capable Adam Rooney to me and Curtis Main could try to finish like Duk did on Saturday 100 times and maybe get one in. The only way I would agree with not taking another cb in is if Mackenzie is going to be getting used at lcb.
-
Agreed, total glory hunter Barron is another 3 weeks at least I believe manc. I expect Goodwin will go with the team that won him the game on Saturday, that seems to be very much his mantra in interviews. Scales was excellent at lb and Clarkson can clearly hold his own in Mcrories cm berth. I fully expect us to win this but you just know Motherwell are going to bring their thuggish worst so unless we get an early goal it could be a bit of a slog. Out Work Rtv Dunno 3-0 Kennedy, Miovski and Duk from the bench again.
-
I'm not saying it wouldn't hurt but if we got scales and money for Barron I could probably live with it. Purely on the grounds that I think we need scales more than we need Barron right now.
-
We've still not heard anything about Coulson which is worrying. He was supposed to be getting an mri on his ankle today. Not to sound heartless but if it's bad I wonder if the loan can be cancelled and his wage redeployed . I really hope its not bad though, I've liked the look of him from the little we have seen.

https://www.ft.com/content/99bee2fb-89c5-4bd0-b99c-322f5e1686e6 Long read but goes through the financial insanity that is barca pretty well. I wasn't aware that camp nou is getting a 1.5 billion revamp but unbelievably it's already been financed.
-
"oh you cunt" was my response when it happened. Clumsy lunge with no intent to get the ball at all.
-
I clocked that yesterday and I instantly thought back to this conversation. Gave me a wee wry smile I have to say. Goodwin also said Coulsen is to get an mri tomorrow on his ankle which sounds fairly fucking ominous.
-
Lots to love about us that game. Agree Stewart needs to calm down with the Beckenbauer passes but I really like him as a cb. Really felt for Coulson having to come off so early as he was looking lively. Some ping by Clarkson and goal aside he slotted in nicely and contributed well. I still think Duk needs to lose half a stone but that was a cracking finish and I loved how much he loved it. Celebrated like he'd just scored the winner in Cup final.
-
We defo need a bit more depth in midfield
-
If so that puts our outlay at at about 1.75 Mill.
-
Me either. A cb and a cm should be the priorities imo
-
My bad, I thought the lc started at least a week early and didn't bother to check
-
I get what you mean but the window isn't closed yet and 15 senior players have left. Also the season has started a few weeks earlier than normal because of the WC. Agree that we need another cb and cm. As for the no 10 position I don't think it's a coincidence that Vinny got that shirt.
-
Getting an early goal would be massive in this game cos they will come to sit in for sure. If we can get ahead early I would fancy us to win comfortably. Out Working Redtv Unknown 3-0 Miovski 2 and vinny

First game of the season: Tims vs Dons
tlg1903 replied to manc_don's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I think the blame for polvara for the second is a tad harsh. It's not like jotas finish wasn't a fucking worldy. Richardson was all over the place the 1st half but I thought he was a lot more solid second. Coulsen looked far better than I was led to believe he was as a defender and also looked good on the ball at times. Stewart was great, looks a really shrewd bit of business and he's gonna grow into the captaincy. I was surprised Kennedy came off and not vinny, he really struggled to get into the game whereas Kennedy was doing far better. As others have said the game got away from us in the second half but its not like chances were queuing up for the tims. We lost to a cheap header and worldy and the game would have been very different without the cheap header. Overall I thought there was more than enough positives to justify optimism about the squad and the season ahead. -
Defo another defender, especially if bates does go this window. We are also massively short in cm with only 4 options
-
Aye it's off apparently

Looks like arbroath are going to play him at CB Arbroath FC are delighted to welcome Mason Hancock on a season long loan from Aberdeen. Mason, 19, is a left footed centre-back who signed for Aberdeen in 2020 after a successful trial. Having played for Fulham from the ages of 7 through 15, Mason has also played for Woking FC U18 and Oxford United’s U18 before signing for Aberdeen. Mason faced the Lichties last season when he impressed in our match in the SPFL Trust Trophy where he captained the Aberdeen B side at Pittodrie. Having signed a contract extension with Aberdeen last season, Mason moved to Forthbank for the second half of last season where he impressed playing for Stirling Albion. This season Mason has started all 4 group Premier Sports Cup for Aberdeen, catching the eye with impressive displays both defending and attacking. Arbroath FC would like to thank Jim Goodwin and everyone at Aberdeen FC for making this loan move possible. We would like to give Mason a very warm welcome to Club. Welcome Mason! C’mon the Lichties
