As a lot of the members of this fine forum know I hail from Inverness. As such I have a soft spot for both county and ICT. Having them in top flight is brilliant for the highland economy and I genuinely love where I live. As such I am unashamedly rooting for ICT in these play offs and whilst that was a turgid game to watch I was really impressed at the spirit of the team to go through with 9 men (incidentally collum, whom I think has improved as a ref over the years, was back to his old standard tonight). Truthfully I felt appointing dodds was a mistake for inverness but he's starting to impress me as a manager. They ended the season with a good run and on tonight's evidence his team is well organised. Spoke well post match too, he may yet go onto bigger things perhaps. I have to give special mention to Mark Ridgers though. Mark is actually a friend of mine, I play pub league darts and I have played on the same team as Mark since about 2018. He's a thoroughly lovely bloke I'm pleased to say and cracking dart player too. I was so chuffed for him when he saved that pen, proper up off the couch punching the air chuffed.

Och I really don't care about this result or performance because I find it hard to see any point in critiquing these last few games. The season is a bogey, this team is disbanding and nothing that happens right now bears much relevance to what is to come in the summer. A thought occurred when walking the dog earlier though. This summer we will likely be saying goodbye to the last remnants of the Mcinnes era. Goodwin is going to have a fair bit of cash to play with wage wise given cormack has said the wage bill isn't going to change despite no Europe. Its not often you get a rebuild of this scale and sometimes it can be an opportunity especially when you have a new manager in.

It doesn't have Mark kerr in it though

I think Mcrories best position is on the right side of a 3 2bh. Right now I would be going Mcrorie, Gallagher and McKenzie. It has pace, strength and solidity and Gallagher is much better suited to it too.
-
Perhaps the boy isn't interested in a modest extension though.
-
Senior moment I would say

Lotto numbers please mate
-
Mcrorie must be rb

He's fucking brilliant on Co comms on red TV. Good eye for the game and loves the dons. There's no negatives to this as best I can tell

Here's a thought I have from time to time. Would you have Anderson back?
-
St J would need to win all remaining games and we need to lose ours to be caught by them. It should be done in other words.
-
This may seem a bit deluded but there's a player in bates imo.... we ain't seeing it right now though for sure. I can't help but wonder that Gallagher might be a lost cause though. I think he can only play in a 3 2bh as a big lump of meat in the middle. He's basically a shit Phillip Senderos. Our dodgy defence aside I honestly don't give a fuck how well or otherwise we played. We won, St johnstone lost, I think we can all relax and look forward to the rebuild now. A lot of hearts, hibs and Jute fans I have slated for being tinpot yo yo clubs were getting far to bolshy recently.

Mark kerr being captain of our club still gives me the dry boke whenever I think about it... Like right now

Utterly fucking dreading this

My feeling is the hunt for a keeper is because lewis has said he wants to go at the end of the season.. Glass was looking at Clarke and given his career trajectory he's not someone who would be signing for a club as a no 2. Same with Alnwick. In short, I think we need a new keeper. He's had a rocky few seasons by his own standards but Lewis is still in the top 3-4 in the league so not an easy replace. Assuming Lewis, Ramsey and fergie all go, and personally I would be be surprised if 1 was here come next season, it's some rebuild we have to do this summer. Can anyone remember the last time we had such a turnover?
-
I would like to see us go a back 3 to be honest. Get bates on his right foot, Gallagher in the centre and consi on the left.
-
Do you know what I'm going to give credit where its due despite the shite result. They never gave up today, even when 2 down and a man down. That gives me some hope for the last 4 games. It really is shaping up for a last game showdown against St J isn't it . The referee was as bad as I've seen since collum in his early years, how do you get booked for being punched in the face? Both Mcrorie yellows were soft, especially the first. Cunt

Whatever else you want to say about Cormack he's brought a lot of investment into the club. There was a good here we go podcast where they had former director Hugh Little on https://afcherewego.podbean.com/e/tropical-iceland/ I could have listened to him all day but 2 things in particular caught my ear. Firstly he reckons cormack and his American chums are into Aberdeen to the tune of over 20 million, secondly funso ojo is in the top wage bracket (better part of 5k a year) which is bonkers. 20 million investment in a Scottish club that isn't the ugly sisters is virtually unheard of in our league. The only comparisons are bonettis dundee and Romanovs hearts but clearly we are not spunking it unsustainable.

You could just see that coming after the vinny got booked for being punched in the face. #gamesabogey

A part of me is pleased. I'm very worried about getting drawn into the relegation dogfight and at least now we can't play a DM Killie side in a playoff
-
My first thought was he probably a bit old but it turns out he is only 30 so potentially could get a few decent seasons out of him. Won't lose any sleep if it doesn't happen though.
-
Noooooooooope
-
Aye, no danger robbo wouldn't take him under his wing a wee bit.

Normally I would agree but in this case I'm not so sure. I mean, Liverpool are genuinely one of the top 3 clubs in the world right now and probably will be for a while yet. You could argue that just training regularly with that squad, manager and coaching staff could improve him more as a player than slugging it out in the Scottish top flight for another year. Regardless though I don't think there can be any argument that if Liverpool come calling CR would turn down the move to establish himself in the Aberdeen team. Paterson is a fair point but he was signed by benitez whom was binned within a fortnight for lampard. Klopp has a far better record at developing talented youth than any of Patersons managers so far and tends to be a fairly small squad manager. As a result anyone he brings in usually gets some game time given the number of games Liverpool play so I would have a bit more optimism at CR getting a fair crack at the whip at anfield.
