  1. I know you're trolling but there is a really good player in there.. Not saying I want him back though
  2. I'll say this for Patterson, he did more attacking in 2 minutes than sod had done all game prior.
  3. If everyone is fit I reckon it will be hendry hanlon and Tierney starting against the CR. Anyone else getting really excited for the euros? I can't wait, we look like a proper Steve Clarke side now and I don't think anyone will enjoy playing us much like no-one looked forward to playing killie under him. If we can win our very winnable opening match its game on.
  4. Yeah though I think Wright or not he would still be gone by now.
  5. Not had one since Christie and Maclean left. A big part of dm's demise I would say.
  6. I was thinking about mcginn last week. I wonder if glass is thinking of using him more as a cf than a winger. He's not as fast as he was but he still knows where the net is.
  7. Agreed, great game. Not enjoyed a game from a neutral pov like that in a long timeThe attacking talent on display from both teams was pretty impressive. That's a hell of a semi final line up it has to be said. Still no love lost between the Dutch and the Germans in particular.
  8. Great shout Jute. This has been a brilliant second half
  9. I disagree. I think the heart of the issue is that the away goal rule was brought in to encourage the away team to attack a little more because in the 60's getting around Europe was a far more gruelling process and facilities were much poorer. Now that isn't the case and it now actively encourages teams to be more defensive at home. Disproportionately so. You're absolutely right, indeed you could flip the exact scenario I gave around. I.e Aberdeen get the late equaliser in the second leg in Germany. Its still nuts that the game doesn't go to et and pens and your point about being defensive away is just switched to being defensive at home. Dunno about you but I would much rather see the dons go for it at home. Put it this way if/when it's scrapped I doubt anyone will be pining for it in a few years time.
  10. That's just going to depend on the team. If afc are going to camp nou we would be doing that anyway agr or not. The advantage of scrapping the agr is the home team isn't worried about potentially conceding 2 goals for every one they actually do so they can focus on their attacking game more.
  11. What issues do you mean? All I really see is people saying they like away goals rule (which is fine btw). I wouldn't say it does focus on that to be honest, it just references some big games that a lot of people will have watched. Regardless though the destination or clubs involved isn't really the issue it's that the game has changed. We are all just used to it being a rule but when you think about it it's a bit of a nonsense one goal being worth more than another. Say Aberdeen draw.... I dunno a decent size German side in Europe like a leverkusen or something. We are away first and get a nil nil draw. At home we get a one one draw with the away team scoring at the death. In this case it is the bigger team that is serviced by the agr not the smaller so I don't think anyone can really say its there to give the smaller teams a chance. Also in this case its fucking ridiculous that the game doesn't go to extra time and pens.
  12. The away goals rule is often counter productive. Jonathan Wilson explains the logic of getting rid of it here https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/mar/13/the-question-football-away-goals The article is 8 years old now but the logic still stands. I'd be happy to see the back of the away goals rule, all it does is make the home team wary of conceding. I would be willing to wager that average goals per game in euro competition will go up if the away goals rule is scrapped. If so, surely that's a good thing.
  13. That's about 12k ish a week so aye, where the fuck are we getting that from.
  14. Roy Macgregor has this cuddly persona but in actual fact he's quite a nasty bastard.
  15. Can see Hughes pitching up at tannadice. Dm's next job will be in englandshire
  16. Not only that at the start of the season no-one gave them anything more than a slim chance such was celtic perceived dominance. I think the empty stadiums played a big part, wasn't that long ago tavernier got a booting for saying they struggled with pressure in the programme notes. Celtic on the other hand seemed to thrive on it and perhaps without it they just couldn't get into top gear as easily. Obviously this is just conjecture but if so there's an irony that the fans who wouldn't walk away (though they fucking did, remember seeing mordor with under 20k crowds plenty of times) were such a hindrance.
  17. I always remembered robertson as a lb but apparently he's a cb now
  18. It was 3 years ago, I don't disagree with that but there is more context. He never had much of a chance under Mcinnes, basically I'm saying I don't think it's a bad thing he's being looked at with a fresh pair of eyes.
  19. When Devlin first came he looked great 2bf. There's a player in there I would say
  20. The Aberdeen fan in me finds it highly amusing. The Scotland fan not so much especially with Macgregors form going off a cliff.
  21. Taylor is fine as long as all his primary responsibility is dealing with high balls into the box.
  22. That's a shame but you would think he would at least consider an offer from us
  23. Defo want us to sign emanuel Thomas, his goal today was van Basten esque. On his weaker foot.
  24. Jess free kick game? I was at that though I don't remember too much about it.
  25. I would take emanuel Thomas off livi if we are signing players who played well against us. He's a handful, no question and he's ooc too. We could get him for nothing and he's likely to be easy to deal with.
