  1. I'm after a date with Scarlett Johansson, I think we are both going to be disappointed...
  2. I'm not sure I've ever seen a club captain being captained by his club teammate internationally before.
  3. Somewhat galling to see Shinnie play LB for Scotland.
  4. Some ping from the kid here. From what I have read he seems to be a bit of a mercurial talent. Bodes well for replacing Maclean
  5. Just about to post that, fair play to them for even noticing let alone sending a letter.
  6. Before my time, which goal? Very sad to hear of coops passing, my pal Terry knew him as he used to stay in his hotel in Inverness. Total gent apparently. RIP Tattie, wish I had seen you in your prime.
  7. "Awwwwww, bless" Willie Miller's reaction to hearing beckenbaur thinking that he's God.
  8. DM would have to go fairly soon for us to even have a sniff at Lennon, his star is defo on the rise again and will take another crack at England if the right opportunity comes up. It's not outwith the realms of imagination that Leicester in a year or so might be a possible destination given his history with the club and the managerial survival rate down there. In short I am very confident Lennon will not be the next Aberdeen manager sadly. As for Ross i think he will do fine at Sunderland. Ironically after 2 successive relegations this is as good time to get the job for as long as I can remember, they are now debt free and a lot of the big earners will be coming out of contract. Saw Martin Bain got his jotters as DOF this week too which can be no bad thing. They will have a much bigger budget than their competition in the league and if he signs well he will have a hell of a chance to win it at a canter. This is a really good opportunity for Ross who does seem very likeable, good luck to him.
  9. Fair enough but it's better for Aberdeen if motherwell lose. It would be highly amusing if the victims lose but I know I'll be resenting it when we start in the first qualifying round and not the second come the start of july.
  10. Shinnie will likely have a comparative pay clause since he's club captain. I wouldn't be paying mcginn that though.
  11. Mon the tims, I feel a bit dirty saying it but if celtic win we enter europe 2 weeks later.
  12. Would be an amazing bit of business but I can't see it.
  13. Nonsense, great wee player. I'd love to sign him.
  14. Decent enough signing but it's hardly setting the heather alight. He's no better than Dorrans.
  15. Would love Allan (if anything else it would piss off the huns) but I can't see it. Mcgeoch is heading south apparently and why would he leave hibs for Aberdeen? we don't even have a training ground. Ferguson is an unknown quality, comes from a good background though. He's 6'1 which pleases me, I think one of the reasons ball has done well in midfield is that he has a bit of physicality. Fwiw I would try and keep Ball too, he's a versatile team player and worth keeping if he's not wanting the earth wages wise. He has a year left on his deal at Rotherham but I think they got him on a free so might be prepared to release him to get him off the wage bill. One player I would DEFO go for is Alex Shalk of county. I really like him as a player, reminds me a little of Scott McDonald actually, and his contract is up. I think he would be a great addition to the front line and is a completely different option to anything we have. A new lb is clearly needed but I actually can't remember when that wasn't the case.
  16. Ooft, people might mock your age al but what I wouldn't give to have been that age at that time. Must have been braw!
  17. He went massively off the boil didn't he. You don't really hear much chat about him rumour wise either and haven't for a while. Makes me wonder what his attitude is like. I would offer him a trial and see how he fitted in perhaps.
  18. 451? Ball and shinnie in the middle of the park with Maclean playing behind Cosgrove? or could be a 433 christie and gms playing up front?
  19. Red tv international al ?
  20. All of this provides a striking example of the human mind and how tribal leanings affect decision making. I took a wee gander over to tribute act media yesterday (through a VPN I might add, digital bagging up as it were purely out of principle). The Gerrad thread started on the 22nd of April where the concept is universally described as a bad idea for obvious reasons. Jump forward to the day of announcement and the same people are coming in their pants at the prospect. "Can't wait for next season", "good time to be a ger", "the f**ians are running scared" etc etc. The switch away from rational reasoning has been largely fueled by the media coverage but it is a really big story to be fair. I think the clincher for the hordes of mordor is that for the first time in a long time they feel like a big deal again. They have been derided, humiliated and zombified with only the sweet whisper of past glories to sustain the delusion of granduer that is their hugely inflated sense of entitlement and the resulting cultural superiority they need to to get out of bed to claim their giro in the morning. The media are just as bad. They are lapping up being the people in the know on the biggest footballing story in britain. All of a sudden the english media is calling them up fascinated about it and they also feel like a big deal, and we all know how many journo's are total huns too. That's where all this on the map bullshit is coming from. It changes very little though, having the fans onside only buys you a few extra months at a club like the huns. The appointment remains a massive gamble regardless, that they are searching down the sofa for every last pound coin to give him only adds to the risk. I actually agree with Mickey Weir to an extent but not for the reason he thinks it for. Should this appointment go spectacularly wrong (I wouldn't give any odds longer than 1/2 on that at the moment) it is going to cost them a fucking fortune and they could go to the wall again. A 4 year deal on what will be a very healthy wage will be very expensive to terminate. Given the public nature of the appointment SG's negotiating team had the huns over a barrel (they really had to get their man this time) so highly unlikely there is a break clause. And that's before you even start thinking about how much it's going to cost to completely renovate the squad.
  21. Have we ever actually won a match when we've been on Alba? If we have it can't be many.
  22. Not convinced of that Kow, he's not really done very much of note in management.
  23. Nah not offended, no apology necessary. I knew what you meant I just felt it was a poor choice of language that detracted from and cheapened a good point. Fwiw I don't think you're a homophobe, you clearly hate everyone quite equally ?
  24. Done deal apparently, get the popcorn ready boys and girls cos this is going to be hilarious.
  25. No need for the homophobia rocket but I agree with most of what you say. 2bf though in the Arsenal invincibles era he did give me probably the best, if not, certainly the most enjoyable side I have ever watched. Particularly because whilst I am of the opinion that Zidane is the best player I have seen the player I have most enjoyed watching in my years (bar Jess) is Dennis Bergkamp. Wenger did not take him to Arsenal but he polished him to a hell of a shine so I will always remember Arsene Wenger with fondness even if he did leave Arsenal a decade too late.
