  1. Shinne plays at CM because Shinnie wants to play at CM. I think it's why he signed for us, DM said he would play him there. In short, he's not going to be our LB but I agree we need one.
  2. Tough game. No two ways about it. Mclean will be a big loss, he really had Motherwells number at fir park and combine that with Shinnie missing whoever plays it will be their first time playing midfield with the other. Perhaps not the worst thing Logan is missing this one, his form isn't even as good as patchy at the moment and Ball is much harder to knock of the ball. Given our opponents more physical style when off the ball that could be worthwhile but with Ball at rb and Consi at left the back line is worryingly slow. I would go Lewis Ball Arnie McKenna Consi Chidi (If fit, if not I think Stewart would be best suited in the Maclean role fwiw) O'Connor Stewart (or Gms) Christie McGinn May I would defo play May over Rooney, we will need his mobility.
  3. So basically a party for lefty tories and labour voters that don't like Corbyn. If it takes off I can see coalitions becoming the norm.
  4. Well.... This thread got a bit side tracked
  5. No issue with that Al, got a big ol soft spot for Hibs. Always been treated really well at Easter Road and their fans pretty much hate all the same teams I do.
  6. Very sad to hear this, first came across him in the football italia days and thought he seemed a thoroughly nice bloke. Was really saddened when I found out he had plied his trade at mordor in the 80's.
  7. I would still take Zidane over both of them
  8. Ok so playing devils advocate could you not argue that it's refreshing to see the scottish football authorities acknowledging that huns are the lowest of the low and that nipping this in the bud might prevent several incidents of domestic abuse etc?
  9. Taylor was good at winning headers, that was about it.
  10. West brom are doomed and the caretaker is expected to keep it until the end of the season according to beeb England. Makes sense, tail end of the season is no time to be making a big appointment. DM gets second and the Scottish cup I would think that would put him up the WB shortlist in the summer.
  11. Take that all day long, Stewarts 2nd was a cracking finish too. Chuffed for him, thought he was coming onto a game when NM re- signed and hasn't had much of a sniff since.
  12. If May is over his injuries now here's hoping he can start banging them in in red and get a call up.
  13. Actually i have plenty of respect for boyd over his celebrations against us. We give him plenty and if you cannae take it don't give it. Anyone hear this on off the ball last night?
  14. Because they are a bean counters, they are constantly looking at it from a financial perspective. To these folks letting them straight back up was the correct thing to do from a business point of view. I know from a friend who was in the room at the time of the vote that every single club in the top flight, Celtic included, wanted sevco to start life in the top flight but they knew they couldn't get away with it re fan repercussions. Leanne Dempster was near in tears when she submitted the Motherwell against vote apparently. Business's hate change and the unknown yet ironically they are often the best entities to respond to such change. This is all beside the point though. Doncaster is still CE of the SPFL (and looking pretty safe in the job) and now on the Board of Directors of the SFA. What you think of him for previous offences doesn't make any change to the fact that this is an interesting development in the grand scheme of things.
  15. Liam Macleod said he thought logan had had a much better game last night than he had for a while. Cany anyone confirm?
  16. even with the suspensions i would have snapped your hand off for that pre match. Big win, don't care if it was ugly and hopefully we kick from this.
  17. Old thread but no need for a new one regardless. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43390627 Whatever you think of the man this is an interesting development. No mention of him resigning so it's hard not to assume that he is continuing as SPFL CE so we now have a situation where the official voice of the senior clubs of Scotland is now on the board of the SFA. Not sure how to feel about this, I agree with the masses that I think the question of why are there 2 governing bodies and, given that don't seem to work very well together, should that be the case? This would seem a step in the right direction but it's Doncaster..... he's such a fucking bean counter...... but, then, that kind of attitude might have a positive effect on bringing the SFA into the 21st century. :dunno:
  18. Stunned Scott Allan is missing.
  19. Anyone watch McInness's presser on red tv? He responds to the whole Clarke situation really well and quite amusingly. Last game was on Partick TV for £6 if you had a decent enough VPN so hopefully they will again . No idea how the manager will line us up for this one which is a bit worrying.
  20. Disagree Kiriakov, the kid must clearly want to play for Scotland given the English interest in him. Good for him, given he's playing for man u it would have been easy for him to think playing for England would be better for his career all in.
  21. I think dm is trying to protect Logan who is a shadow of his previous self. Clarke is at it big time though. You can tell he worked with Jose who would very much approve of this rhetoric. The media wankfest over Clarke is becoming increasingly nauseating and unless Murty wins the SC they will be pushing for him to Mordor in the summer.
  22. I adored that game..... I especially liked horsing my hun pal at it 2 player. He used to be a dandy then.started following the hins about age 12.
  23. Well you say that about budget the word on the street up here is N'Gog is on 7-8k a week...
  24. When was the last time anyone heard anything about his injury progress? When we signed him i remember an article saying he could be fit sometime in March.
  25. Firstly, what the actual fuck. I mean seriously, how can so many of you be speaking like this? Hang your heads in shame all those using the phrase 'Old Firm' to describe the tims and the tribute act. That pairing died with the huns........ hard to be be called the old firm when one team is only 5 and half years old. ICT vs County is an older rivalry ffs. It's language like that that encourages the idea that they are the same club. CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!!! etc etc. Just saying. McInnes has become something of a conundrum now. It's clear we have regressed again and the pressure is mounting, Willie Miller being critical on DM's tactics is a very telling one. Still it's highly unlikely the chairman won't even think about sacking him unless we fail to qualify for europe. He's also on a long term expensive deal and I suspect thinking about it would be as far as it would go. Further speculation seems fairly pointless about it at the moment though I completely agree that his position should be up for debate. One thing I would add is that it's not impossible for him to dig us out of this rut. On the 2 recent defeats I don't think we would have lost either if Shinnie had played. If there's one benefit of his suspension is that he looked a bit leggy recently though. He will be very important to us on Sat and given Killie played yesterday I'm confident of a win and good performance assuming the game goes ahead. I think the make or break part of our season will be Devlin. If he settles with McKenna quickly that could be a tremendous partnership and a total game changer. Our problem this season has been our meekness, it's not a new problem but it's more prominent now we don't have Hayes to bail us out with a goal out of nothing against the better sides. I think a big reason for this is the overall team and managers lack of confidence in the defence. The thing is we all know that the defence has been shaky for years. That Considine is decent enough as long as he's not facing anyone quick but really we need an actual LB. That logan has been on the decline for the past year and a half and there is no obvious challenge to his position so we need a RB too. That the midfield is light and has been for ages and we have too many players in positions we don't need and the wage could be better utilised. Reynolds Ball and Maynard spring to mind here. I'm sure we could get at least one competent Fb for their wage. In short the squad management has been very poor but it has been for a while with certain positions which falls at the managers door. The past season has seen a lot of birds come home to roost, and maybe it is time for new leadership, but there's no chance we will get it anytime soon. We have to hope that McInnes learns from this, it's the first time he has faced any kind of significant displeasure from the majority of the support which may motivate him to change his ways.
