  1. looking good going forward but awful at the back!
  2. Got a link Rico?
  3. We can but dream kfp
  4. 11th minute wearing 83 he scores on his home debut. This boy is doing to win so many games for us! Fact.
  5. There's some excellent schadenfraude available over on hun media fyi
  6. Good to know, thanks Tom.
  7. A question for those who know more about construction etc. If kingsford is approved phase 1 is the training facility. How long would this take to become functional? Would it be possible to have operational by the end of the season?
  8. No one bit, combination of 3 factors. It would involve either major redevelopment of the existing stadium or complete demolition and start over. Where would we play in the 1-2 years whilst this was going on? Tannadice? Dens? fuck that. There's also no money from the sale of the land and educated opinion on modern stadium standards says we would end up with nearly half the current capacity. Again, fuck that. Overall it just doesn't seem worth pursuing to me. The bang to buck ratio is far higher with moving than it is remaining, location seems a fairly small price to pay imo. There's a very obvious one. It will be a fair bit cheaper to build training facilities as part of one complex then on two sites.
  9. How I felt about JC and his tenure is irrelevant, horrible disease and i wish him a swift end when it comes. Personally If i ever got that diagnosis I would be giving a family member power of attorney to take me to Switzerland once it got bad enough.
  10. I've not really posted very much in this thread as I have found a fair bit of it pretty tedious. I can't say I particularly care about pittodrie overly. I've had some good times there but as a ground it's 3 bike sheds and the rds, it's not a pretty stadium by any stretch of the imagination. Atmosphere is limited and so is view in both pitchside stands, if I'm honest I have found pittodrie a bit of an embarrassment for a long time. The location is indeed pretty good but I have to travel at least 110 miles to get to any game that is not in the highlands so the central location doesn't particularly affect me. It seems fairly obvious to me that further investigation into redeveloping the pittodrie is a fools errand and it's pointless to explore it any further. Sometimes you just have to move on. I don't know Aberdeen particularly well as a city but again it seems fairly obvious that there is no stand out location for a new stadium. The phrase beggars can't be choosers springs to mind, if ACC approve Kingsford then I will be delighted because the club is being held back by our current setup and has been for quite a while. To progress as a club we need custom training facilities, we need a new stadium and we need it yesterday. If ACC refuse the application it is reasonable to assume that we are going to get left behind by the hearts and hibs of this world who are already light years ahead of us in terms of infastructure. I don't know about you but that sends a shudder down my spine.
  11. You're kinda contradicting yourself there a wee bit KFP. I would actually agree in that he is relatively quick compared to reynolds of 2 years ago (the only player he can be relative within this context is himself after all) but that is still slower. Past year he's lost half a yard of pace imo and i would expect at least the same again over the next. Pace is relevant though, it has been his get out of jail free card after poor positional play many times. As it wanes, and no offence to anyone but it is defo starting to wane, he's going to become more and more exposed. Domestically we have not really faced a real challenge but even still the defence has looked wobbly at times. Both county and hamilton have caused us problems at the back that would have been punished by better players.
  12. Reynolds is far too much a hit or miss player and more miss than hit for a good couple of seasons now. As has been mentioned by many posters he hasn't been the same player since he stopped playing with Anderson. His only hope is that Arneson can bring the same effect once match fit. I would have happily moved Reynolds on for Liam Lyndsey from Partick, he is now 30 and his pace is starting to go. Truth be told I'm hoping this is Reynolds last season because he is not going to adapt very well to being a slower player, his positional sense is still pretty poor. Ultimately I just wish Shinnie could be convinced return to LB, it would improve us almost immeasurably. We would be far less vulnerable at the back and far more potent on the left wing going forward. No-one really talks about this anymore because he has made himself invaluable in midfield but you could argue the midfield could now cope without him. Tansey has settled really well, easily the best early overall form of the summers transfer so far, and O'Connor or Arneson could step in as a holding midfielder. Not only that Considine could get a shot at CB instead of Reynolds which I would prefer. Sadly it's probably never going to happen so if we do any more business in this window it should be a LB.
  13. It looked like stokes made more of a forward motion than Jack did but regardless it's piss poor refereeing to be sending either of them off for that. Well that's what I thought when I stopped laughing anyway, hun cunt. If anyone should have been off it should have been Dorrans for his grab to the throat on Silvka after he was taken down by him.
  14. As good a place to leave this as any. https://twitter.com/SirPatStew/status/896401509029560321/photo/1 Negative geek points to me for not knowing he was a Huddersfield fan but it would appear he's the real deal. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11740/10896413/sir-patrick-stewart-on-david-wagner-and-his-love-for-huddersfield-town Well if they're good enough for Jean Luc then I think I'm going to have to keep a closer watch on them this season.
  15. I always liked the shootout system the Yanks did in the first few seasons of mls in the event of a draw. It would be a far better way of deciding knock out games instead of a penalty shoot out, far more skill required.
  16. Fascinating appointment if it happens
  17. I try and make at least 5 home games a season these days. I had a season ticket for a few few years up until the beginning of last season but with change of circumstance combined with quite a lot of games getting moved for tv (getting up at 7 on a sunday to get through for a 12:15 ko is just no fun) it became hard to maintain. Getting through from Inverness is pretty easy, supporters bus goes for 15 quid return and when you have your season ticket already it's actually quite a cheap day out.
  18. I think it's a bit too early to be calling it on Maynard. Personally I thought he did fine, his movement up front created a lot of space for Christie and Wright to exploit. Arnason looked well off the pace and against a more positive and skillful team we could have easily conceded. I thought Tansey did pretty well and his free kick for the goal was McGinn-esque, it was a bit of a poachers header from AOC whilst we are on the subject. Chuffed for Storey, he took his goal pretty well though I thought the keeper should have got something on it. It's going to be interesting to see who starts up front on Wednesday but Storey must now be staking a claim given he's the only recognised striker to actually score this season.... and in a lot less game time. Hamilton were fucking brutal it has to be said, it's fairly miraculous we got through that without injury. They were Hearts like in their thuggery pretty much the entire game. The ref was fucking murder as well, I know it's only his first game in the top flight but if he keeps up that level of incompetence Willie Collum may have contest for the most hated ref in Scotland tag.
  19. Nah, don't think they have premier sports. The gellions have done in the past, that's your best bet
  20. I did the thursday before it though, I thought he looked pretty good when he came on against Brijek. I've only seen brief highlights of the Apollon game but he did sound off the pace, DM likes him though so I won't be surprised to see him start on thursday.
  21. McInnes is never going to play Maclean as a striker Rico, why on earth would he when he has 4 on the books? I agree on your back 5 though and McInnes probably does too but I suspect he will play Maynard up front, Apollon will come at us and Maynards pace and movement has the best potential to cause them problems on the counter. Could see Stewart or GMS drop out of this one as there's no way Christie is and I would be surprised to see Maclean dropped either. I reckon it will be --------Lewis--------- -----O'Connor------Reynolds------ logan-----Arnason---------Consi --------McLean-----Shinnie------- Stewart-------Maynard--------Christie
  22. Firstly lol at hertz. Secondly I would agree with this but stranger things have happened, Hartley was a fantastic player for Hearts and the fans love him and there is a recognition that he was up the swanny without Stewart and Hemmings. I wouldn't be surprised to see him interviewed put it that way....
  23. When people say the idea of redeveloping pittodrie hasn't been properly investigated they are right to a certain extent. It's just when you scratch the surface of the idea it's pretty obvious it would cost an awful lot more so what's the point digging further!
  24. Possibly Stewart not being as defensively astute as NM was?
