  1. Fuck me, what a roller coaster that game was. I've never felt for a player more than I did today for Griffiths. Superlatives fail me on his performance, we needed a big game player today and he stepped up admirably. The bounce at the second was the best I have ever experienced in a bar. gutted we didn't win it but if we keep playing like this we have a good shot at 2nd place. Strachan deserves credit for today, we were more than a match for England for the majority of the game.
  2. Not so sure Christie wouldn't get a game for them. Imo he's plenty capable of playing his way into that side. The kid has a great attitude and technical ability coming it of his ears.
  3. A lot would depend on what happened with the 3-4 million in the bank that such a exodus would leave us. I would be looking at Lindsey and Amoo from thistle, Crawford from Hamilton and walker from hearts.
  4. Hayes will want to go to the tims though, him and rodgers go back to reading days etc. Whilst it would stick in my throat watching him play against us for them he has more than enough goodwill from me to go where he wants with my best wishes. I don't want Christie back unless he's going to be our player. I was pleased to get him at the time and he was a far better player for us than Maddison was but no more on loan please.
  5. Giggs now 4/7 with DM at 13/8. This bullet is starting to look dodged though it's probably not going to be the only one fired this summer.
  6. AFC Statement Aberdeen FC this evening can confirm the following first team players have left the club after Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup final against Celtic. Goalkeeper Neil Alexander, defender Ash Taylor, midfielders Ryan Jack and Peter Pawlett and striker Niall McGinn have now left Pittodrie. Peter had already signed a pre-contract with MK Dons. Strikers Cammy Smith and Lawrence Shankland, and goalkeeper Aaron Lennox, who have all been on out on loan this season in the SPFL Championship, will also be leaving the club. Cammy has signed for St Mirren. After the conclusion of his loan spell Ryan Christie has returned to his parent club. As was announced earlier U20 players Robbie Mutch, Jamie Henry, Dylan Thomas, Aaron Norris and Joe Nuttall have also left the club. Everyone at Aberdeen FC would like to thank all the players who are leaving for their tremendous commitment to the club, in some cases over many years, and wish them all the very best for the future.
  7. Excellent post, completely agree with everything said. I have played that chance over and over in my head on the 6 hour trip home and it's so raw. Gutted doesn't even come close to how I feel. I'm just glad I was at Ibrox last week and can occasionally distract myself with remembering Shinnie running through on goal (it was great to see you too Manc btw ). Not seen Stockleys elbow yet (i just can't face watching it back yet) but I've been told it looked like he meant it. Don't know about anyone else I'm starting to get pretty sick of this. He's becoming quite a liability regardless of his increasingly useful contributuons. A red card at that point would have been game over. I would add that Taylor had by a mile his best performance in an AFC shirt.
  8. Rodgers attempt at mind games, he'll be on the bench at best i suspect.
  9. I would agree he's unlikely to get bigger than sunderland straight from the dons but considering the state of them he could defo get better.
  10. Have you ever considered supporting Newcastle? you would fit right in.
  11. The one thing that gives me a small glimmer of hope is that Sunderland are a complete basket case of a club. After what happened at Bristol DM is going to a bit wary of going another club in significant debt and a wage bill to be cut. His stock is high and if we win the cup even higher. I suspect he is probably going to leave in the summer but it may well be to another suitor. So given that I suppose we better start thinking of a replacement. I would still go for Tommy Wright. Archibald runs him quite close but I just really like how Wright goes about his business. I've heard negative comments about his footballing style but when you look at what he's working with you have be a bit pragmatic. You could argue given greater resource his tactical choices could be quite different, he also has a very good eye for a player which is going to be need this summer in particular. Lastly his players show the same unity and respect for their manager as ours do for DM. He would be a good fit in short.
  12. Really hope Utd do it, one less plastic pitch in the league would be very welcome. No sympathy for Murray either he was falling over in the last leg too.
  13. Even if he does Leeds could come in for deek instead
  14. Sounds like he's taking a step back from the game for a while at least. Can't say I blame him given the year he's had.
  15. They only reason AOC shouldn't play in midfield is if he is replacing Taylor.
  16. I hope not too but Gary Warren would be a good bit of business imo. Very solid centre half.
  17. He's really embraced the role hasn't he, it's going to be highly amusing watching it all go tit's up for him.
  18. One thing I do like about Tansey is his acumen with shooting from distance. He's more often on than not getting them on target and he's always looking to have a ping. I would be willing to wager he get's at least 5 shot's from outside the box next season. Re Jack I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he ended up at MK Dons with Pawlett.
  19. He would be a good signing but I doubt he would come back up north.
  20. Inverness fan said to me last night he heard a rumour we were after Marley Watkins
  21. 3 cop cars showed up which made it a cop for every egg thrown
  22. No worries maybe see you at mordor
  23. Made it, anyone else here yet?
  24. I would be starting Christie all day long in this one. For one it frees up AOC to go into defence and his guile will be hopefully torment hill and Wilson.
  25. The best I can say about Madden getting the gig is that at least it's not Collum. The only ref I have ever seen who I am 100% sure was consistently corrupt in favour of his team was McCurry. I am of the opinion that virtually every referee that has ever taken charge of a football match just want's to get every decision right regardless of what team they follow. If Madden makes a wrong call in our favour, big or small, then it will be down to incompetence not bias.
