  1. Listed on the club website as a midfielder but in a youth cup preview from the summer last year on the club website he says he's a striker! http://www.afc.co.uk/news/8350.php#.WOPlDt9ic8o
  2. Assuming it turns out to be an afc v victim fc final I would really be wanting to beat them in the last league game, it's been a while and it would be a great weight off the back for the team to know we can actually defeat them. Especially after the last cup final....
  3. Are they really growing particularly strong though? They have hit a peak for sure but still only got 22 % in the last scottish elections. To add a little context in the 97 labour landslide general election they got 17.5 % of the vote in Scotland. Incredibly given how shit a year that was for the tories in the 2015 general election they got even less, a meager 14.6. I'm not convinced an indy Scotland would go for full membership, at the very least not straight away anyway but even if they did I always find the "how is that independent?" question a very confusing one. Would you say that all other 27 eu nations are not self determining independent countries? The two unions are very different beasts and bear little similarity in comparison other than the name E.g.. One requires handing all that you make over to the uk parliament to then be issued an allowance to spend, the other does not. Brussels clearly has influence over the member states but it doesn't have anything even resembling absolute control. Westminster does over the 4 countries of the union though. Another very key difference is quite telling with regard to how each parliament views it's member states. Westminster did not have to seek permission to have a legal referendum on membership to the EU but Holyrood has to have westminsters permission to hold a referendum on membership of the union.
  4. I was born in bellshill, lived in a few different places but predominantly Inverness. On Betty and Wilma I can't think of either without thinking of this scene from Red Dwarf.
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39482050 Its the hope that kills you sometimes.
  6. It's possible DM may think about shaking it up slightly with the hordes of mordor coming over on Sunday in mind. Maybe just a couple of changes, get christie and pawlett in perhaps though I'm not sure who for. If anything else many have commented on how this might be quite a hard fought match and ICT have a few players who are a bit clumsy in a challenge. Maclean was rested against dundee with his fairly early sub so he's likely to start but perhaps McGinn or Hayes could be rested. Is Stockley available for this game? He could be a good option to have if ICT start getting physical. One thing I would add is that this is the first time since the 7-2 Motherwell game that we are facing a side with a competent striker. McKay is pain in the arse to play against sometimes and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he scored. Inverness have defo improved since we played them last and the club in general has an ever growing grievance against us plus a lot of their fans actively despise Aberdeen. In short they're going to be well up for this game but will be shitting it a bit after the Dundee game too. Early goal could be key in this one, if we get that we could give them a bit of a shoeing 2bh but if it's still goal-less at half time it could be a really frustrating 2nd half. out online Walk the dog listening to post match on RS 3-1 dons Christie, Jack and Logan. Really hope we win this as most of the boys in my darts team are Inverness fans. The seethe would be glorious if it was all ex players on the Aberdeen score sheet I might add
  7. Remember in the summer Deek made a beeline for a couple of big solid players because we got pushed around a lot last season? I think deek would be more than happy to have an option like Osman for the def mid role. Don't get me wrong I agree with a lot of what you say there and it's very pleasing the way we are playing at the moment but looking back through history you find an awful lot of great teams have such a player. You can put a big part of Arsenals demise to the fact they have still never found someone to pick up the reigns Viera left for example. Osman would be a good addition to the team imo, he can defo play a bit and isn't going to pushed off the ball by anyone. You'll be pleased to hear it's highly unlikely to happen given Osman is actually 30 (i just looked it up, thought he was mid 20's) and I can't see DM going there.
  8. Reasonably thought you could only really call him up to play LB given that is his position now and he's not better than Robertson or Tierney in that position.
  9. What tom said.
  10. Yeah I've mentioned him, he looks hte nastry bastard we have been looking for for a long time. He reminds me a little of bisco.
  11. I take your point, it's not unfair. My logic on this would be if we took Mcginn out of the current side the remaining ten would be more than capable carrying a young player like Wright through his first ten starts. If we are to sign to replace him however I would be maybe looking at Stevie Mallan at Helen. He's always looked very capable though I'm not sure if he prefers a more central role.
  12. He's a good player at a good age. He's no glamour signing but he's still a very good one. ICT fans I spoke to today feel very much with Tansey as we do with McGinn. I.e. he has more than earned his shot at a bigger stage. Usual Aberdeen Caledonian Thistle comments have followed but the fact that these came second says a lot about their rating of him. Tansey will do very well for us I'm sure.
  13. Absolutely chuffed to bit's for AC. I've always liked him, even when he was a bit of a liability at lb. Very smart player and he has thrived under McInnes. The biggest compliment I can give him is I don't feel a loss when I see Shinnie play midfield these days.
  14. Gutted but not surprised, at least he's not going to fucking hearts! All the best Niall and thank you so very very much for the memories. MacKay Steven might be on the radar as a replacement but i would personally like to see youth given the chance
  15. The real question is why the fuck was it played at such an early time! If it had been a 3 or later kick off it would have had a much better attendance!
  16. Obviously a gamble playing KT at rb but I like the look of that team. I shed my club allegiances temporarily, hell the best bounce I've ever been in was fergahuns equaliser against Italy. As such I really don't have an issue with all the tim players to be honest, bar LG they are all playing to a high standard regularly. Much rather that than a mid table championship player. Got a feeling Armstrong might shine in this game, he's a braw player.
  17. I would suspect it's cheaper to have one location to develop than two.
  18. I would actually like to see them get their act together, tannadice is always a braw day out.
  19. I think Osman from partick could be worth a look, I quite liked his style in the quarter against Partick. Ali Crawford is a player I have always admired and is expected to leave hamilton in the summer. He'll have a year left on his deal and there will likely be interest from England as well so I'm not holding my breath but he would be an excellent replacement for pawlett and it would be great to see the club make a bid for him. Lets not forget Smith will be back in the summer and by all accounts he's done pretty well and playing regularly. I've always thought Smith was pretty classy and I'd like to see him given another opportunity but I can understand why others may not agree. Despite recent improved form i would be looking to replace Taylor, Josh Meekings is out of contract at ICT and he's always looked pretty handy to me. Devlin is an interesting idea but I've not seen much of him. It would be nice to see the club going for someone like that though, i.e. young yet seasoned Scottish player on the up. There was talk of Brian Easton to play LB, he's solid enough and can cross but he's not any quicker than Considine sadly.
  20. I disagree they are central belt orientated. They are the first Scottish government to not only take the dualing of the a9 seriously but actually make it happen. Massive investment and the vast majority of it on road outside the central belt. People did complain at the start about average speed camera's but they have been a positive in my experience and I drive that road an awful lot with my job. The death toll is down a bit which back's that up a little which is no bad thing when it's statistically the most dangerous road in the uk. The distributor road is going in Aberdeen and there is also a much needed new crossing of the river ness being built up here. I think they do what they can, the O+G sector being healthy is good for the Scottish Gvmnt surely?
  21. As I understand it if they went by themselves they would become an archipelago inside Scottish waters only owning up to 15 miles from their coast which would have little to no effect on current oil fields. I read this in the wee blue book and it seemed well researched if your wanting source. Re the bit in bold. There are plenty of countries that look after their citizens far better than the uk gvmt does, surely its not unreasonable to think we could join that collective as an independent nation. I can understand your cynicism, hell you've lived the uk quite a while after all, but I don't think it's fair to judge an Independent Scottish parliament so harshly before they have even had the chance to prove otherwise.
  22. Oil schmoil, it's always been a variable commodity and makes up only a small part of the economy. At some point it's going to go back up and I would much prefer that Holyrood got that money than westminster. Fascinating few days it's been. It wasn't just the gvmt that were caught on the bounce but the media too and they didn't like it. They would have loved to get the negative spoilers out before the fact. MSM is fucked on this one, there has never been such widespread public cynicism and awareness of how the press lie than there is now in Scotland and that's largely because of the last indyref. Fool me once etc. If you can check out Callum McCaig's question to Maybot today, I saw it on facebook and can't link to it but I imagine it will pop up in many newsfeeds. It's really quite amusing regardless of your constitutional leaning. I was for it last time, I'm for it again. Sturgeon has kinda been boxed into a corner here and I don't think she had any choice. It was always going to come to this after the decision to go hard brexit so why not give May a bloody nose while your at it? The tories are cunts, end of story and the sooner the country is rid of their influence the better.
  23. I've got a ever growing admiration for Archibald.
  24. I suspect because if said shitter put something conventional like, say, milk then it would not have the desired affect.
