  1. Interesting to see how we line up for this one, it's the widest pitch in the country. I would very much like to see the same back line from the PT game as it looks like it's got potential. Probably out as I'm just about to fly back from Iceland and it's easily the most expensive place I've ever been. Online Walk the dog then maybe the pub Crafty 1-0 the dons or an epic five goal thriller
  2. Foster, thought he had become a pretty decent fullback by the time MM took over and was raging he pushed our only recognisable FB out the door. That he went to the huns was insult to injury. I said this one before but when Foster was on sportsound for the first time he did their quickfire questions. He had already spoken about his distaste for MM and that he hadn't wanted to leave Aberdeen. When he was asked what his proudest moment in football was I expected playing in the champions league to be the answer. Without any hesitation though he answered "being made cub captain at Aberdeen". Regardless of what you think of him as a player he clearly loves the dons and whilst it's depressingly predictable that he gets boo's I think it's a real shame someone who holds or club in such regard gets treated so badly by our fans.
  3. Wow. Just.... Wow
  4. As in people actually said that Al?
  5. Seriously?
  6. Really don't understand why you wouldn't want Wright
  7. The stand out candidate would be Tommy Wright, no question. IMO he is the best manager in the league, there is nothing to dislike about how he has gone about his business at St J, indeed, everything to be impressed by. McIntyre is a dud if you ask me, not interested. Mcleish is a dinosaur of the game, not interested. I wouldn't be gutted by Archibald as he impresses me and you never get an easy game against thistle but Wright would absolutely be the man I would want.
  8. Basket case club, doubt he would be interested
  9. I wouldn't want barton within a mile of the training ground let alone playing for us. I'm sure deek could get a tune out of him but he's a fucking liability both on and off the field. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and if he can regain his burnley form or not but I suspect rocket maybe right and his legs have gone.
  10. ..... worth a look? I jest, of course.
  11. Hun media is quite amusing this evening. They don't seem too enamoured at the prospect of DM which is quite interesting but then they are huns so obviously not the sharpest tools in the box. Regardless though if MW walks our manager is going to be bookies favourite unfortunately.
  12. It's not playing with Anderson who would tell him what to do imo.
  13. I thought Maclean had good game yesterday, particularly in the first half though he did fade in the second a bit. I've said it many times before but I think CM is his best position and I hope he stays there. Overall that was a really satisfying and much needed 3 points against a very stubborn and organised thistle side. It was interesting to see DM be a bit more cavalier in his approach by going 442 and long may that continue. Rooney did look a bit lost on friday but i did wonder if it was because Maddison was given the wide left birth but was constantly trying to come inside meaning the AR had to go wide left to cover. I would be very interested to see how we would do with hayes on the left and mcginn on the right. Having such natural wide players being supported by shinnie and logan would make us almost unplayable on the flanks and with the kind of service Rooney and Stockley would be getting opposition penalty boxes would become shooting galleries. The problem playing that line up though is, of course, the dropping of Maddison. You could play him as one of the strikers but that's not always such an easy switch to make.
  14. I think we saw the best defensive partnership we have on friday night, for a first time out as a pairing I thought Consi and AOC played really well together. Great to see shinnie at FB again as well
  15. I'll be stunned if this is an easy game, thistle are good team and come into this on the back of two wins.
  16. Jess Anderson Hayes First two were easy to pick, no 3 not so. In contention were Richardson Connor Stavrum Grant Snelders Mcginn Logan Kjaer Zerouali
  17. There is only one ref in my memory I have ever thought was biased and that's Mcurry. If I ever met him there's a fair chance I would swing at him. Collum's awful but I'm far from convinced he's corrupt
  18. Unusual that red tv don't have the game for international viewers. Anyone have any suggestion on what Stockley has done not to make the bench? Perhaps he is being rested for the victims game, hopefully storey gets some game time.
  19. Yeah it really was nicely played wasn't it.
  20. Brown's job may not be remembered as particularly glamorous but he built a very solid foundation for DM to build. I've met a few who disagree with this but no pa broon no reynolds or hayes or mcginn. Reynolds may be a bit partchy now but Hayes and Mcginn? I shudder to think where we would be without them.
  21. Jack in for Reynolds, Considine into cb and shinnie into lb. Simples.
  22. Yeah I didn't realise they had changed it, anyone know when that happened?
  23. best i could find of it, that dow goal is one of my very favourite aberdeen goals.
  24. I'll take that, it was never going to be an easy game and if memory serves that's our first win at Hampden in 16 years? Last one i can think of was the SC semi against hibs, 2-1 stav and an epic andy dow volley. Not convinced Rooney is actually offside as it looked to me like the ball wasn't played forward by the header that set him up. Rooney takes a couple of small steps of backwards just before he heads it and given how close to being level with considine in the first place that would put the flight of the ball roughly level with AC. If that's the case then the ball hasn't moved forward but sideways and Rooney cannot be offside as the offside rule only apply's when the ball is played forward by a team mate. The assistant must have had a really good view AC's header and I suspect that's why he's not flagged. I thought Maclean did fine today and I was chuffed he got a goal but not MOM, defo shinnie for that prize. Ultimately GM came to frustrate and did well in their task but 2-0 was about right. I'd quite like to see Considine given a run with AOC, if jack can play cm with Maclean we could finally get Shinnie in his round peg.
  25. Honestly don't care, they are both beatable.
