  1. I always thought he was best played as a defensive mid. The only real reservation I would have is that he was fairly injury prone the past few seasons. Not really the roberto bisconti type player I would ideally like the club to bring in but he can certainly pass a ball.
  2. 0 points and negative double figure goal difference
  3. 2-0 2 minutes into the second half. This could be highly amusing.
  4. Hapoel 1 up in 20 minutes.
  5. I suspect we'll do more business but it's going to be thereabouts deadline day if/when we do. Going out of Europe diminished the appeal of the club and the budget for the season so it makes sense to sit back a little bit IMO. The closer it is to the window the more it becomes a buyers market for clubs. We have had some success with loanee's impressing in recent years and we may yet see one of decent pedigree come in on loan. The window isn't over yet and bar the unseen morris all the summer business has actually looked pretty shrewd. Lewis looks really solid and spritely from his line. AOC is strolling games and looks our best defender since Anderson by a distance (funnily enough this has had a positive influence on Reynolds) Burns looks great, same with Stockley and though theres not much game time with Storey it's looking pretty good so far. We are just one really good centre mid away from being a really good side if you ask me.
  6. :hammer: Unbelievable Jeff. I'm amazed we haven't had bids for him
  7. As with Rhodes as well though he didn't play against sunderland and may be leaving Boro. I used to look forward to Scotland games but they really don't inspire these days. GS is sadly making a cunt of it after a reasonable start which reached its pinnacle against the Irish at the San Giro. The only possible hope they have is that Strachan learns from his tactical blunders from the last campaign. My big fear is that England will humiliate us, that would hurt regardless of how little you care about the national side.
  8. Ryan Fraser starts for afcb away to west ham
  9. Good win against a tab that has been hard nut to crack in recent times. Thought MacLean played pretty well
  10. 1 down at home to motherwell at half time, nice one skippy.
  11. DM said that AOC fancies his best position as cb in his pre partick presser
  12. Wanted as cb or cm bb?
  13. As I understand it we are creating chances just not taking them manc
  14. I'm disappointed we have failed to get a win in the first two games but in the grand scheme of things I'm really pleased we are looking more solid at the back. From what I have seen of AOC and Lewis they look a real finds! A little perspective, we have just had two shutouts against teams last season that scored 16 goals against us accumulatively over 9 games. Every regular on here said we need to strengthen at the back over the summer and that's clearly happened.
  15. Just before they play sevco too
  16. A thought occurs, it's not out with of the realms of imagination to suggest that perhaps Shinnie himself prefers playing cm.....
  17. Their first away game in the top flight on saturday, it will be interesting to see how many of their fans decline to spend the 'Blue Pound'. I suspect not many.
  18. Going out of Europe is a blow when it comes to getting someone else in. I like Storie for the role but it's a gamble. We may yet get someone on loan in on deadline day.
  19. Good move for both i would say. Not fussed after the signings of stockley and storey, we're pretty full up front.
  20. Well, assuming this comes pass, here's hoping this is the key cm we've been needing since Arnason left. Also here's hoping shinnie gets put to left back again.
  21. I missed the game due to a multitude of reasons and only just got to watch the highlights. After hearing so much about his performance I kept a particular eye on Taylor. I noted with interest Shinnie having a go at him in the 1st half and also when the goal came no-one really wanted to go near him despite his notable contribution. It could be patience is wearing thin with him within the squad as well as the support. I'm wondering if DM is planning on dropping him but not wanting to go with an untried defensive partnership in Europe which does make some sense. With that in mind I wouldn't be at all surprised to see O'Connor starting against ST J. Aside from the issue at CB and particularly Taylor we're starting to look a quite aggresive and direct side. Stockley is going to have a field day in the league and is fast looking a very shrewd bit of business. With the attacking options at our disposal I think domestically we are going to score a shitload of goals this season..... If we can only shore up the back line we could have a glorious season. Great to see Jack showing a return to form, this is a really big season for him and he's also out of contract at the end of the season. Overall I'm reasonably confident we can do the business in Slovenia.
  22. That's a bummer MBT
  23. You also have to add in matchday revenue which must be worth about half a mill per home game.
  24. Promising to hear Lewis is doing the biz. Ash Taylor? Gash Player more like.
