  1. In some ways its a little easier not having been around for the glory days. Kjaer McKimmie Mcleish (my first game he played, went Motherwell not long after) Anderson Shinnie Grant Connor Heikinnen Zerouali Shearer Jess Bench Leighton Considine Logan Bisconti Rooney Richardson Mcginn Manager DM Fair few current day players in there but that's hardly surprising given this the best team we have had in 25 years. I did consider booth over rooney but his injury record kept him out. Could also make arguments for Nicholson, Seve and Arnie
  2. Copenhagen was great, the Tim game a few months ago was a bit special also. My first ever hun game round about 94 was decent, finished 2 each but was a great atmosphere
  3. Recently read a book called Armada, it's Earnest Cline's follow up to the much vaunted ready player one (which is great btw if your like that sort of thing). It's a decent enough sci fi read that doesn't reach the heights of rp1 but leaves plenty of room for sequels that could. I'm looking forward to seeing where he takes it.
  4. Moyes binned by Sociedad..... You can imagine that might cause a few murmurings in the san giro boardroom
  5. I thought utd looked a little more solid at the back than they have in recent times but going forward they are murder to watch. Deserved, if uninspiring, victory for us and it's an almost nostalgic feeling to win. Some decent performances, PP had a good game I thought and is possibly about to start showing why we rated him a few years ago again. Flood had a good enough game, very industrious, but Christ he just cannot pass a ball for toffee when under any kind of pressure. The standard off opposition is really his level sadly. Hayes was great
  6. At the risk of being a big cynic Shankland had a great record in the under 20's also.
  7. Losing Considine was a big blow, he was having a decent game and so was Reynolds in the centre. With hindsight it was when he went off and Reynolds had to play on the left that the holes started to show in the defence. It was a mistake to bring on Quinn to replace him, Robson or Flood would have been my choice with Shinnie going to left back. In spells Jack looked to actually playing quite well but completely agree about his disgraceful attitude for the 3rd. DM clearly wasn't impressed either as you don't see your Captain getting subbed when he's not injured very often. Taylor for the pen was just ridiculous, fuck knows what he was thinking...... Maybe theres truth to the rumours and wants DM binned...... I jest of course. Disappointed but not surprised unfortunately, the game was a pretty accurate representation of where both teams are at the moment but you can't help wondering how things would have gone if Rooney had put that header in.
  8. Completely agree about Smith manc, I think the boy is classy. Plenty of pace on the flanks also
  9. Yes, it would be truly awful. Reynolds at Lb? Christ on a stick no. Flood playing but no maclean? C'mon, that's just silly. Regardless of what I think though it's likely DM will revert to the euro formation with Logan at rwb, Hayes at Lwb, shinnie, Jack, MacLean and Mcginn in the middle with goodwillie up top. Fuck knows which cb's he will pick though, I've never known an Aberdeen manager harder to predict. Personally I would go Taylor, Reynolds and Considine as Quinn looks far to static to play against Grifiths on current form. The team I would go with though is Ward Logan Taylor Considine Shinnie Jack MacLean Mcginn Goodwillie Hayes Rooney It's well balanced, experienced and everyone is playing in their natural position bar goodwillie and even then its not by much. Oh and before anyone suits maclean is an attacking mid his first two years at st Mirren he played cm. It was only when they had no options in the front line that he was moved further forward.
  10. Shinnie is not wasted at left back.
  11. 7.05 quite randomly
  12. And right on cue he scores against caley
  13. On the subject of CM I've seen a wee bit of jackson Irvine this season. Really impressed by him, he's a very lively box to box midfielder. IMO he would walk into our first team, we could probably get him for a Maclean type amount in January despite him only signing for them in the summer.
  14. Shinnie is a good shout imo. That said it took time for Anderson to grow into the role, couple of seasons if memory serves.
  15. I was calling all summer for a new CM as it was glaringly obvious flood was the weak link. I think it's a little premature to be talking about losing dressing rooms but what was hoped to be only a blip has very suddenly become something way more serious. If the players have lost any faith in McInness then it's probably faith in his tactical ability. His selection and subs must be confusing the squad as much as us and it doesn't help that it's fairly obvious DM has no idea what his best side is. A shoeing at the San Giro at the weekend could turn this into a full blown crisis...... An unlikely win on the other hand would do much to improve mood. It's a big game for McInnes when you think about it. Regardless of result I don't expect him to be sacked but I would speculate that any kind of embarrassing scoreline would turn a fair chunk of the support against him which would make his peg a bit more shoogly.
  16. In Golf club Main Supporters bus 2-0 I'd go Ward Logan Taylor Considine Shinnie Jack MacLean McGinn Smith (why not, he deserves his chance after recent weeks) Hayes Rooney
  17. Personally I would like to see Goodwillie played there but I take your point that mcginn would be effective there too. I'd also like to see Smith given more game time
  18. The frustrating thing for me at the moment is the lack of consistency in selection, particularly in defence. There are two natural cb partnerships in Quinn and Reynolds, Taylor and Considine. Trying to play all 4 of them at once is just ridiculous especially when logan and Shinnie are clearly superior fb's. The CM positions are too chop and change also. Jack and Maclean have looked a complimentary pairing when they have played together and for me this is our strongest option regardless of whether you think KM should play further forward or not.
  19. You just won today's internet manc, class!
  20. I voted yes for many reasons but top of the list was never be ruled by tories ever again. I was really surprised the yes campaign didn't put up billboards with pictures of thatcher, portillo, tebbit, IDS, Osbourne and Cameron with the tag "never have to tolerate their like again"
  21. I wasn't convinced Platini would have won it anyway. Not many outside europe would be voting for the head of UEFA to take over when they think FIFA is to UEFA orientated as it is and it's one nation one vote. Also he voted for Qatar so fuck him. I agree Kow, the whole thing should shut down
  22. Fascinating appointment. I don't really have a 2nd team but if i did it would be BVB so I have a lot of time for Klopp. I'll defo be looking out for the scousers score a bit more now. He can be quite abrasive as well and I can totally see him falling out with Jose and Van Gaal pretty quickly which would be highly entertaining. Ancellotti, if he was actually interested, would have been a safer appointment but Klopp took the Dortmund team from the pits of despair which goes in his favour. Honigstein postulated on football weekly that a lot of teams had kinda figured Klopps high intenstity game out which was one of the reasons for BD's downfall. It defo played a part and there didn't seem to be a plan B but the big contributor for their rapid decline at the end of Klopps tenure that was losing Gotze and Lewandowski to Bayern. It really deflated the rest of the squad and you can understand why. I really hope this works out for him.
  23. No words can ever truly express how much I despise the conservative's. The worst part is whoever replaces Cameron, either Osbourne or Johnson you would think, is going to be worse. It breaks my heart to think we could have been free of them.

    Gun control

I was reading up about port Arthur today actually SF, that guy was proper bonkers! This has been doing the rounds on social media recently in case you missed it,JJ nails it IMO. Thing is I remember Bill Hicks doing material on gun control over twenty years ago, that little has been done despite a multitude of massacres since defies logic. 310 million is a staggering figure, it's just mental. I don't accept that it's not possible to take them out of circulation, but it would take a few generations.
  25. Yesterday we started with Hayes playing cm. It's all very well having versatile players and utilising them as such but playing an winger in cm when it would be far more effective to play MacLean alongside Jack and Hayes in his natural position makes no sense to me.
