  1. Not good enough for Hibs, I disagree. JC should continue his good work and avoid this lad.

Man City have been linked with a move for Aluko!
  3. 20+ players isn't enough for a team as skint as us?
  4. Wasn't sure where he played to be honest, but that wasn't really the point, was just pointing out the fact that we've got a good few players in the first team.

By the way, the deal for Aluko is reportedly £50k. An absolute bargain, especially so on a three-year deal. If he does impress and attract interest, then we'll get some money for him should we look to sell. No-one seen this coming, still curious how JC/WM have pulled this out of the bag. After today, we should really look to sign Mulgrew for a further year. These two will give us a very strong left-hand side.
  6. Yeah, I think in central midfield we've got a good variety of defensive and attack minded players with Kerr, McDonald, Severin and Duff. Smith, Young and Aluko can also play there in behind the front two. If Jimmy somehow manages to bring in an experienced central defender, I'll be delighted. If it doesn't happen though, then I'll not be overly bothered as I still feel we've got a good enough squad to secure third place and, possibly, push for second.
  7. 20 players plus a number of young players coming through isn't a bare squad. For the first time in a while, we've nearly got 2 players for every position (youngsters in brackets). GK - Langfield, Bossu (Bateman) RB - Foster, Hodgkiss CB - Diamond, Considine, Mair (Crawford) LB - Mulgrew, S. Smith RM - J. Smith, Young CM - Kerr, McDonald, Duff, Severin (Pawlett) LM - Aluko, De Visscher FW - Mackie, Miller, Wright, Maguire (Paton) I would still like to see an experienced centre-half brought in, but Severin's played there and as many suspect will probably feature there a lot more than in centre midfield. If that is the case, another central midfielder would be good, but we've got other players who can do a job there if required. Are they better than Kerr? God knows, but I don't think we need Kerr to be honest.

The team is now looking a little more balanced, and looks pretty good on paper. --------------------Langfield--------------------- Foster/Hodgkiss---Diamond----Severin------Mulgrew Smith----------Kerr-------McDonald---------Aluko --------------Mackie-------Miller----------------- Some decent back-up from the bench as well.

  10. Edit the above as you see fit people!
  11. Yes, I did. Who put the I next to the U on my keyboard?
  12. I think Jimmy's done pretty well in the transfer market with the players he's brought in and gotten rid of. Still think we need a centre half and a winger, so hopefully we can bring in one more player today. In 1. Sammy Stewart - Glenavon 2. Bertrand Bossu - Walsall 3. Gary McDonald - Oldham - Slowly developing into a good capture 4. Charlie Mulgrew - Wolves - Class player, hopefully he'll be here for longer than his two year contract 5. Mark Kerr - Dundee United - Has added some steel to the midfield which we lacked last year 6. Tommy Wright - Darlington 7. Jared Hodgkiss - West Brom Out Steve Lovell - Never hut the heights Richie Byrne - Bar the Copenhagen game, he was awful Barry Nicholson - Would've been great to keep hold of him Dan Smith - Pointless human being Karim Touzani - Frustrating player, great some days then clueless the next Derek Soutar - Just wasn't good enough Alan Maybury - Good player, but he should've been told where to go long before we finally did
  13. Absolutely not, if he's not good enough for Hibs...

  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/7590901.stm 3.48 in Seen them given both ways. Miller's cleverly beaten Cuthbert and went back across the path of his run, as any good striker would, in the hope that they'll either 1) foul him or 2) hold off their run to stop them fouling him. Cuthbert clearly puts his hand onto the back of Miller who then leans into the run and the tangle takes place. As soon as Miller managed to get past him, and into the path of his run, Cuthbert has to hold off. If he continues, which he did, the chances are that he'll take Miller down. The reaction of Cuthbert says it all for me. He instantly looks up at the ref and you can see the relief on his face when he realises he's gotten away with it.

  18. I'm just curious as to who will take the flak, and for what reason they'll take the flak. See Caledonia's post for example. He wants us to splash the cash even though this is one of the reasons why the club is f*cked just now. Some people's logic is bizarre.
