  1. That must be splitting the diff between 20 and 25. Just a routine negotiation.
  2. Whatever he's paying you dd I'll pay you £50 more. Actually, since you'd pay £100 not to listen to the shite I spik, you're better off with Al. Plus I'm never going back to a Scotland game, especially travelling for a friendly. Long overdue to revisit Budapest though.
  3. They were talking about the youngsters at Hearts and how Naismith's presence will help them in their development. Apparently 16 year old Cochrane was tremendous today, again. Southampton took on a 17 year old today. 22 year old McKenna is held up as an example whenever I dare to suggest that one of McInnes' weaknesses is youth development. He got one chance and played so well he picked himself thereafter.
  4. Where with you when AFC won the SC 2018? At Hampden obviously but if the question was where were you when Aberdeen took their first step towards the SC 2018, it wasn't Pittodrie but something more unusual and memorable for me as I was sitting in a lecture hall in a Bratislava Sports University. Totally forgot about the hour time diff and the early kick off. What a lovely and rare surprise to see 4-1 up when I tuned in after 70 mins. The winning wasn't the rare thing, it was just not usual for me to tune in to an Aberdeen match that I'm not attending or watching on the telly or listening to on the radio. Me hoping that a great day and night in foreign climes is a good omen for a fruitful cup campaign this season.
  5. 1. And whilst I was certainly in that camp, the folk on Sportsound are gushing in their praise of him. Caught most of the second half of the Embra cup derby on my drive home from Embra today. They were then reflecting on yesterday's fitba and were pretty unanimous about the "wonderful job" he's doing and that he's "taken AFC to the next level". This interpretation does not sit well with me. 2. Agreed.
  6. Just followed your post in the book thread. In the six or seven weeks of totally wasting my time on there, not one book was discussed. They don't even have a thread for books I'm sure. I know a handful of the posters there and they're good cunts but the majority make the most noise and it's really not worth listening to.
  7. Having just been fucked off by you on another thread, I love hearing your enthusiasm about that book. I'm similarly going through a book enthusiasm orgasm. I just finished White Trash. Found this intro online - In this landmark book, Nancy Isenberg argues that the voters who boosted Trump all the way to the White House have been a permanent part of the American fabric. Just starting Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge. It's awesome already. Both books written in 2017, by women and highly critically acclaimed. Love learning stuff and this stuff is huge.
  8. I would if I could even though I'm sure it wouldn't have reflected too well on me but I was half cut and it was late. I do remember some of the wording but it's been personal for a very long time and of no consequence to anybody or anything basically. I said that the hat wasn't fit to wear the badge and told the boy I didn't like him, shit like that. Not the first time I've offended people and it won't be the last. At least I'll be less uncivil to folk on here cos it is the last time on there and I do like to have an outlet to vent my fury at AFC from time to time. So fuck off. See? Nobody other than an old mad Eberdeen cunt gets my sick humour.
  9. I really don't think that's newsworthy enough to start a thread about! For the record, I had alcohol for the first time in ages and told a mod what I thought of him, thereby leaving him no option so I banned myself really. Was getting absolutely sick of the place. That place has got so bogged down by absolute mutants that I decided to make it permanent by not missing with my final words. Have been dying to say it for years. At least they had the decency on here to tell me why I was banned whereas that total penis never makes contact when weilding the banhammer. Fuck them.
  10. Utterly outstanding Gents. I almost forgot Nazareth existed. I had never heard that version of Vigilante Man. I really like the Ry Cooder one but this is better. On a more current note and changing the vibe completely, I heard this on Radio 6 this morning and really like: -
  11. The shitholes thing was crazy. He's a law unto himself. He's mad, and dangerous too cos he's so thick. I've often wondered about the value of the prime real estate of the old US Embassy in Mayfair. It's fucking massive. We walked right round it a couple of years ago when we stayed at the Dorchester next door, well, just down the road. He could have a point about the Brits getting it on the cheap but by fuck he hates Obama, pathologically.
  12. I can't help thinking that if this is his career ending prematurely, then this is totally down to his desire to be the best and pushing his body beyond it's endurance capabilities. During Tiger Woods first pro event, I predicted that his body would not be able to withstand the enormous tension he was putting on it, thrashing fuck at it out of the rough etc. and indeed his knees and back have required surgery in the years since. Murray has to be applauded for what he achieved in the game but he will never get what he really wanted I feel, which was to be recognised in the same bracket as the best. He's the best from the UK, no doubt, by a considerable margin but all that sacrifice and cold baths and punishing schedules have caught up with him. Awesome discipline and mental toughness but not enough physical endurance. Done well for a wee laddie from Dunblane, driven hard by that monster mother of a woman.
  13. McMafia episode 1 was good. Excellent potential.
  14. May isn’t as good as he was during the season when he put us oot the cup at Ibrox. Either injuries have taken too heavy a toll or he’s not working hard enough. His fitness issue will be down to his ill discipline and/or him being mismanaged.
  15. It is indeed frustrating trying to debate with those unqualified to do so.
  16. That season was the closest I ever got to attending every game. The only one I didn’t go to was the 5-0 at St J. It was my favourite season in terms of hope and excitement as we played some of the best football ever, Bett, Jess and Gilhaus being stand outs. Davie Robertson gesturing to us at Love St that he had the boy in his pocket was the funniest memory of that season. When the teams got announced at 2.55 at Ibrox, it was like a kick in the guts. The year before, AFC won both cups. After 1990, we won the diddy cup, twice. History of AFC before 1970 - one League, one SC, one LC = 3 trophies. 1970 to 1990 - 3 Leagues, 6 SC’s, 3 LC’s = 12 trophies. Last 27 years - 2 LC’s. If this alone isn’t proof that Milne has been bad for our business, I don’t know what is. Here’s another way to look at it; If the league is worth 5 points in terms of difficulty to win, prestige etc. then we might think the Scottish Cup is worth 3 and the League Cup one. Pre 1970 - 9 points. 1970 to 1990 - 36 points. Last 27 years - 2 points. Trophy haul (including ranking) for first 55 seasons (assuming 1903 to 1969 but not played during wars) = 0.16 per season. 1970 to 1990 - 1.71 per season Last 27 years - 0.07.
  17. I would like to think that the original plan, the redevelopment of Pittodrie would be what will happen but one man doesn’t want that and has been deliberately pursuing a different agenda including the neglect of Pittodrie. What will happen? That’s easy. Don’t challenge the chairman and you leave it to him to decide. We can’t complain about it either, if we give him carte blanche.
  18. George Weah now president of Liberia. What next? Willie Miller for Scotland? Hodgson to stand against Theresa May?
  19. Very good news. A talented footballer who can score and provide. Good negotiation by him to get 3.5 years out of AFC. Hope his motivation and his legs lasts that long, the former determining the latter of course.
  20. Bizarreness again. Both managers therefore got sacked after the Shef Weds v. Boro game. Wednesday reacted to his sacking with a 3-0 away win at Forest. Swansea are rolling a dice but their game is doomed. Can’t see anybody saving them and this muppet especially. The Swansea board must be mad. Some terrible appointments but this may be their worst yet.
  21. I think this is both true and false. They will be difficult to play against. They’re not an unfairly physical team. I’m also not particularly looking forward to it. One out of three ain’t bad I guess. There’s not much we disagree on when it comes to state of the nation analysis at AFC. It’s our ability to tolerate what’s going down that is the biggest divide between us I feel.
  22. Yes it appears that reason to be infinitely more likely than Monks having exercised an indiscretion against a young lassie. He may have been caught having sex with a farmyard animal of course, but that likelihood may have been more than very remote. Had that occurred, and there is zero evidence or suggestion of evidence that it did (at this stage), the timing of the infraction would have been material, if indeed the shagging of a goat or a Fresian cow is considered an infraction. If caught with his balls coo or sheep-deep during working hours, see ya later. If sliding into the animal outwith working hours, I'm sure Monks would've been happy to take a weeks wages and a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
  23. If you haven’t fucked off already and it’s not too late for a leaving present, take this with you; Confrontation is just a symptom. The critical thinking, acute observing intelligent analyst understands that the reasons for confrontation is where the meat is to be found. Or where the fruit is to be found, whatever you fancy, depending on your culinary preference at the given point in time.
  24. If you aren’t bothered either way and you can take it or leave it - and this is a recurring theme with you - can I suggest that you do indeed leave it. You might want to explore AFC Chat? I’m sure you’ll find many more kindred spirits there.
  25. 3 years to the day after we moved to Melbourne, we got offered citizenship. I am very grateful for that letter in the post. It was unexpected. We never thought we would be there long term but it forced us to start thinking a bit longer term. Half our kids were born there. Within about 3 weeks, we sold everything and flew home. We have not been back since. Nor will I personally ever visit there again. No point. Been there, done that, there is nothing more in that country I want to see. My only regret is not visiting NZ but we will do that one day, no doubt via HK and Japan. I always felt the world was happening somewhere else. It’s a cultural desert, other than the Aboriginies and we all know what happened to them. I despised Australians. Thickest and most racist people on planet Earth.
