I dunno. I wore white jeans and white shoes in Goteborg that day, rather fetching with my red AFC top, I thought. I could have sworn I've not worn white shoes or troosers for at least one third of a century. It's also been that long since I contemplated going oot withoot a jaiket, let alone go abroad without one. Got a trap though. She was tall, leggy, blonde and lovely but I was too pisched to leave the club. Best 24 hours of my life.

AFC ANNOUNCE SEASON TICKET DEALS 2012/3
rocket_scientist replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Great shout and as a never-had-a-season-masel despite attending every home game for at least three or four years once upon a time, and having attended approx 700-750 AFC games, the vast majority at home, I would follow your example. The new problem we have however, is that we now have a diversion. Milne has been a cunt of a chairman, a rat who's got us in a stinking stew. A stewrat, if you will. But this RFC debacle takes the heat off him. However bad the SPL product has become and however corrupt legless and googley eyes have been in their maladministration of Rangers, this doesn't detract form the utter corruption of Stewrat and the sycophantisement of his faggot followers on the board. We've been fucked up the arse for a couple of decades by a man who is so pathetic a human being, he used to wear a wig, well four actually, alternating them to pretend hair growth. Just cos Murray and Whyte fucked RFC to oblivion doesn't alter the facts about our own little bald rat cunt fucker and his saddo DoF and the irrevocably tarnished legacy of our club's greatest ever player, a lowlife weegie scumbag who stole a million from the good people of the North-East. Plus he had a moustache. Any man choosing upper lip hair growth is not right in the heid. -
The defective observational skills of the linesman who gave Hibs their last goal is conclusive proof of his unfitness for purpose. You have to be special stupid to conclude that that was a goal. Do they not conduct tests, in areas such as intelligence, reactions and visual abilities for the cunts in black? Or do they just give jobs to the loser kid crew, the defective human beings who want to be involved despite not being good enough at the game themselves. Spesh peeps, these officiates.

Like it makes any difference who you vote for in whatever fucking Cooncil elections or whatever it was last week. Grow up.

Dear whoever the fuck, Let Rangers die. It's the best option for the vast majority. The utilitarian option, if you will. In one fell swoop, the horrible bigoted cunts who support them won't have a common collective under which to peddle their poison. The death of the hun institution allows us the opportunity to ridicule huns and if when they get uppity, provides a golden reason for smacking fuck out of the crestfallen fuckheads. I could offer other views in support but the foregoing is more than conclusive enough. Yours, rocket

Manchester City v Manchester United who do you think will win
rocket_scientist replied to caledonia's topic in Football Chat
Good point Caledonia. Man U have been much better than many of us thought they were capable of. City may still fuck it up as these players haven't been here before but I would be surprised given their quality. Nasri is Arsenal though and they are choking fuds and if he makes the mistake of playing Balotelli, he's liable to ruin the whole season on his own. I would play Milner instead of Nasri just to be safe and between Tevez, Aguero and Silva, they're bound to create and convert chances against Newcastle. Fergie has done an amazing job, yet again this season. But the Glazers have been greedy, as these people are famous for. They have starved the manager of funds for investment in the player squad and it's biting deep. Scholes was class tonight but Giggs, Carrick and him aren't the future, they're the past. United to build a brand new team and Fergie has run out of years to rebuild the next era. -
Manchester City v Manchester United who do you think will win
rocket_scientist replied to caledonia's topic in Football Chat
My over-riding impression from my one and only visit to the Emirates was how excellent Clichy is. He was just a name to me before but he is a SUPERB footballer. I don't think chequebook Citeh would have bought him and played him every game if he wasn't sheer class. He NEVER gives away the right wing. He's an awesome talent. -
Woy for Engerlund is magic. He's such a fud. The FA are hilariously inept.

Manchester City v Manchester United who do you think will win
rocket_scientist replied to caledonia's topic in Football Chat
This is over. Newcastle punched above their weight for too long and if Kompany (best CB in recent history) and Lescott can prevent Man U from a shot on target, they're more than capable of keeping "heid the ba" et al quiet. Where Wigan can score four, Man C can score half that and if they score twice, they'll definitely win. I always thought it was Martin O'Neil that would cost Man U the league. It appears that it was Davie Moyes. SAF is a classless prick. This is the start of his downfall and now it's going to get ugly. -
No, your post was very clear and yes, you quite obviously agreed with me. Be careful not to throw brass rocks in slate houses.

Hmmm... must try harder. Here goes... Hemmin rocket, that's bang out of order. We support our team through thick and thin. You can't be going around dissing one of our players, one of the longest serving. Fuck off you. Intelligent debate, you fucking retard. Stick to the topic. Slagging Mr. Langfield like that is way out of line. We don't need "supporters" like you, a total cunt who has nothing positive to say ever, about AFC. I don't see anything positive. What have I missed? Langfield had a life threatening condition. Have you forgotten? Can't you cut him any slack? He's trying his damnedest for us and all you can do is criticise, blah de fucking blah. His defective head does not concern me. His defective ability does. Heartless cunt. Knob.
-
If you can't afford a hoose, go live in a box or get a better paid job and stop yer fucking whinging.
-
Langfield is so thick and so rubbish at his supposed craft. Picks up the ball in the first couple of minutes when there was an obvious possibility of passback interpretation. Reactions of a slug for the first. Came off his line for the 2nd when he was never getting it, then got caught in no mans land. Howler at the third. Hey Clangfool...
-
Chelski are going to get slaughtered tonight.

Here's some more wise words.... Most youngsters today are shite. It was ever thus but the proportion has gotten more shite. Moaning about it is the equivalent of "woe is me". Some succeed. Winners and losers. It was ever thus too. Losers should accept that they're losers or get off their fucking arse. Moaning about being losers is comically pathetic.
-
IFA's get paid by the banks to whom they give business. They get particularly upset when their commission is clawed back in the event of early settlement, if the punter sells the hoose and pays off the lendor quicker than expected. The punter gets upset too if they don't negotiate a fair deal and end up forking out a few grand in early settlement charges and "penalties". Arrange your own finance and shop the world. Look for early settlement terms (as we never know what's around the corner) in particular and only once you've done the research on your own should you even consider talking to an IFA, mostly for the satisfaction of knowing that you've found three or four better deals than the one he's recommending, his fat commission being included at your expense. I reckon most IFA's are cunts but they will sometimes have access to excellent deals with life companies etc. who are desperate to increase their revenue streams. Do your homework first. If you rely on these cunts without doing your own research, you deserve the raping that they will certainly give you.

His future after AFC puts me neither up nor down. The fact he got five years out of us will always be a bleak point, a symptom of how divorced the club and the fans became. Many of us knew that the blustering charlatan would never get as big a gig again. This wasn't particularly insightful, just obvious to anyone with a basic knowledge of football and a normally functioning instinct for human affairs. The continuous shite he speaks exclusively and his rock solid thick intellect should have been sufficient to disqualify him before even recruiting the fat bastard but once the tombola came out and his freezing out of McNaughton for the boy Byrne in his first few months, the further acquisitions of Dempsey and Clangers and the blaming of everyone bar himself took full swing, he should have been emptied there and then. He was mismanaged after having been ill-recruited. It was a dark period for AFC the minute Milne took control of the club. That minute is extending into a third decade and still the cunt is in charge. Even the poof Smiffy had a go at Stewrat in the P & J today. Pa Broon's an old man. Replacing him doesn't fix the problem. Willie Miller's continuing to receive employment is a permanent reminder of how mismanaged AFC is.
-
Just cos orange thick prick's ambition (to collect a wage) accorded with Milne's ambition to plod along and sell our only asset and Miller's ambition to also collect a wage, doesn't mean JMG was right for the job. The key point was the disparity between what the fans want and are reasonably entitled to expect, and what these three clowns wanted.
-
A change of manager fails to address the principal problem at AFC. Calderwood did a good job, the best he could have done, despite his buffoonery. He was the dream candidate for Miller and Milne. What the fans want and what the man who owns less than 30% of AFC plc wants does not accord. The DoF doesn't compute, as he is a proven rogue and a puppet of the rat chairman.

Right bb, bit of fun, here's my Rd 4 predictions... 276 - Oost 67 278 - Lefty 70 279 - Hanson 72 280 - Bubba 70 280 - Kuchar 69 280 - Westwood 68 Think Lawrie will shoot 72 again, Harrington 69, Stenson 96 and Mahan 71. What's yours?
-
Good point but it gets my goat re McIlroy in that they were all making him pre-tournament favourite, yet the commentators failed to appreciate where the problem was last year on the Sunday and they still haven't picked up on his continuing missed putt left frequency. Everyone talks about the 10th but he missed three times from 7 feet and under in the first 8 holes last time. By the time he 3 putted 11 and 4 putted 12 (from nowhere), he was gone in the mind. It was his three short misses that planted the destructive fear. He's a shocking putter and until he gets it sorted, will never win round Augusta. Everyone can have a day out (Quail Hollow, Rd 1 in Dubai) but I think he can be a multiple major winner if he just addresses his obvious weakness. He's the best ball-striker I've seen since Norman was at his heights. The other thing that kills me is Monty going on about Lee "deserving" a major. Last I looked, golf was about 72 holes and the score at the end. No-one "deserves" to win other than the man who shoots the lowest score. Westwood bottled Turnberry and was outgunned by the brilliance of Mickelson. He's been close but no cigar. Augusta is the least likely major for him to win because, as both he and McIlroy proved yesterday, he's a shocking putter too. We've never seen such incompetence on the greens as we saw from both of them yesterday. I think Mickelson is rightly favourite now but I'm going for your pick, Oothuizen. He was swinging so impressively yesterday and surely the lefty can't keep up this ridiculously high standard. Hanson is a superb golfer but he's not been in this position before in a major and has bottled it in European Tour events when in contention. He hasn't won since 2010 either.
-
Before the inevitable small minds jump in if Lefty or Hanson win, let me elaborate. The world made Tiger and Rors heavy favourites and I didn't agree. I called that the best golfer in the modern era wouldn't win after day one and I also ruled out the two best and most consistent ball-strikers (Lee and Rory) for the exact same reason, that their putting wasn't good enough to pass the sternest examination in world golf, the greens at Augusta. The two of them IMPLODED today and were shockingly bad, displaying a level of putting ineptitude that we very rarely see on Tour. I think Oosthuizen has a great chance and right up until that approach at 18, was swinging beautifully all day. Maybe I went a bit far writing off everybody but I still would be surprised if Hanson won, although he is clearly the best Scandy chance ever. Phil Mick will be rightly favourite, an incredible fightback after a shite first Rd and an amazing 30 back right now. Today spread the field. It also killed the three top favourites, as I predicted, for the precise reasons I predicted.
-
I'm not in the predictions-for-golf business as it's way too hard to pick the winner when there are so many horses. For a bit of fun though, I wish to place on record some golfers who I believe will not win, and why. Woods. Hitting it sideways off the tee, well big left-ways yesterday. His new putting stance, whilst wider and looking better, still has too much weight on the right, not hunting the hole and looks ugly. McIlroy. He'll never win round here until he addresses his continuing weakness. Westwood. Nobody ever long-games his way to victory at Augusta. This place is the ultimate examination of Short game and putting. Whilst tee-to-green, he was clearly the best in round 1, it's a tall ask to keep this up. His duffed heavy chip at 15 (off a simple perfect up-slope lie), his missed 2 footer and three other putts that all looked certain to drop but somehow died across the face or burned the edge - these are all signs that his scoring functions are significantly weaker that the rest of his overall package. As just over 50% of his total score year-on-year is from less than 15 yards from the hole, he would need to demonstrate a far superior ability around the hole than he ever has before. Also, puts too much pressure on himself and his burning ambition has been replaced by desperation. May also have the Monty factor. Stenson. 6 under through 10 was awesome but he's been in the wilderness too long. Peter Hanson. Like Henrik, He's scandinavian. They don't win majors. Bubba. Putting not strong enough and will be prone to a wild one. Patrick Cantlay. The biggest arsehole in golf. Sergio. Putting stronger these days but not strong enough round here. Kaymer. Not playing consistently enough and needs some more depth in his tank before winning again. Mahan. Putting again, plus his lack of colour-coordination yesterday. He must've dressed in the dark. Darren Clarke. Lightning won't strike twice. Mickelson. Too bewildered-looking. Adam Scott. Long putter. Sandy Lyle. 86 puts him 19 shots off the lead. Don't think he can catch this up.

Shaping up to be a great Masters already. I took pleasure from Stenson's 8 at 18 and I loved Phil's 7 at 10. On a more positive and less sick note, Westwood is a Long game genius and Lawrie was the best value bet of the century at 250's. On an acutely observant angle, the missed putts analysis of Rors exhibits a significantly pronounced miss left frequency... again. On an irrelevance level, Vijay is a cunt and he probably smokes beef.
