Bill Hicks. BBC4 right now. Sorry. Forgot to recommend. iPlayer this.
  2. I thought about it but decided against it. Too predictable this year. If someone interesting was going to do something interesting I might be tempted. You start with this then I'll attend and back you up... "Milne. What the fuck are the press doing here? Get them to fuck. The club is sinking. We need it sorted. Let's sort it now. Now get the journos to fuck and let's get down to business. You cunt".
  3. Portuguese bum bandit fails to make a contribution of any significance in a big game. Think that's been done before. Messi has been a totally absent influence too tonight. Apart from once. He put through the young Chilean for the all important equaliser. Freak goal for Real. Freak second goal for Barca. Can not believe a Mourinho team can give up so easily. Never seen such a gutless capitulation in my life. Zero work ethic when the going got tough. It's this lack of application that will kill them when it matters. Fudstick primadonna elite effetes. Wanker madridistas.
  4. Excellent, and many thanks for highlighting for our attention. I just completed it and encourage you all to.
  5. I could do it in less words than the title War and Peace. Stewrat Milne. When a man in power convinces others of his genuine intent for the collective, where that agenda is clearly and exclusively personal, then the others are to blame. Their gullibility and stupidity is not an excuse for Milne's crookedness but it is the reason why the collective has headed south.
  6. I went a bit daft in the Library this week and last and took out too many. I can't possibly read them all by 28 Dec and 4 Jan. Included are two that I will read first:- 1. The Glass Bead Game by Hermann Hesse. First read it when I was 16 and promised myself I would have to re-read it but never got round to it. 2. The complete works of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Only ever come across quotes and ideas attributed to him but never drank from the horses mouth. Biographical stuff on Seve and Oscar Wilde after that.
  7. Is the correct answer! Or at least, this hits the spot with my ageing memory.
  8. I heart Jazzer Bee.
  9. Were we not saved from relegation in 2000 as the league was going from 10 to 12? It was clearly Motherwell who benefited from Falkirk's diddiness three years later.
  10. Today's P & J has the familiar pic with the finger pointing at the reader and the words "Aberdeen wants you" and "Join your club's army". Not that this AFC predicament is a time of war and it's not volunteer cannon fodder that is being sought but a bit of context here. AFC plc has been mismanaged for well over a decade. The concrete proof of the gross mismanagement includes: - 1. A debt that now matches, if not exceeds, the value of our only fixed asset 2. Zero current assets in terms of players that are worth anything 3. A balance sheet that offers an un-investable proposition for others 4. Interest payments which the club can ill afford to service 5. Non-productive staff, the majority of the wage-bill, continuing to drain the limited resource 6. A decimated customer base, alienated by successive mismanagement both on and off the pitch 7. A guaranteed annual loss-making machine with no hope of profitability under Milne So now that the average gate has been four figures for just over 12 months now - for the first time since the wars presumably - the AFC PR machine thinks it appropriate to point their finger at us fans? At a time when many in the city and shire have turned their backs on the Milne-backed farce, he seeks to turn it back on us? Like it's our fault? For the record, Mr. Chairman, you continued to get five figure crowds even for the whole first year McGhee made a cunt of it. With the club in obvious decline for a long, long time, you failed to act. You specifically failed to trim the non-productives, thereby starving investment in the one area that matters the most, the area that you yourself described as always being the priority, the product. You built a culture that fails by employing people who fail and you either failed to recruit the right heads in the key positions or you failed to provide the right culture in which capable personnel could perform. At the AGM's 10 years ago, you defiantly resisted all attempts from the fans to get answers to their questions. You then recruited a buffer between you and the fans, another shocking appointment that was always destined to fail. Your contempt for the people of the North East manifested itself in divisive PR emanating from the club at very regular intervals for years, as we all read in the P & J, as Miller admitted at the AGM 2 years ago, as you yourself acknowledged in writing immediately thereafter. And now you turn to us? You want us to finance the recovery? How about you do your fucking job first? How about you give us a sign that you're not the utter cunt that you come across as being? How about you make one decision for the good of AFC for a change? How about you put in your money first? How about you put the record straight? You had your sycophantic Fraser telling us that it was your money that kept us afloat. You had PR suggesting that it was you who financed a player signing or three, you put out rumours that you paid off the failed management teams that you recruited on behalf of AFC. The balance sheet doesn't lie. You took the opportunity to increase the liability that our club owes you personally by increasing the debt. You didn't put money in by way of donation yet you want us to? We already gave you millions in the share issues. You squandered it either deliberately or negligently, for reasons some may speculate about. Don't you fucking dare point the finger at us, cunt. We're the ones pointing our collective fingers at you.
  11. What? Why might I "might as well have"? Your misinterpretation of my original post - resulting in an unwarranted "don't be fucking daft" - was based on a premise that is both moronic and unfeasible, which you now agree with and acknowledge? Are you now saying that I've changed my position since your unwarranted attack or is it now dawning on you that you've been just a wee bit quick to look for confrontation rather than seeking clarification to alleviate your confusion? Of course Brown is failing in the job. Everyone can see that, even me despite you now fabricating the suggestion of the possibility that I somehow can't. The SPL table attests to this as concrete proof and there are no exceptional or extenuating circumstances that mitigate his responsibility and accountability. Instead of jumping in and making a tit of yourself next time, try not to attribute words, sentiments or opinions where they don't exist. If you don't understand what others are thinking or suggesting, seek clarification before seeking to create a childish spat online, safe behind your screen that you won't get the slap that your non-adult behaviour merits. Either that or just say sorry, put it down to your period and/or drink and we start again.
  12. You can't "sack" Milne anyway. Even a fucking moron understands this much. Forgetting the old firm, I guarantee that the biggest or second biggest budget in Scottish football given to a half decent monkey is sufficient to work our way up the table sufficiently to avoid relegation, given that there is a whole month before a whole month of transfer opportunities. The problem lies elsewhere. You don't even know your own club enough to see it.
  13. I didn't say that.
  14. But is this not the same pattern? How many more decades does it take? This could be fixed instantly.
  15. Craig Brown, Jimmy McGhee, Steve Miller, it doesn't matter. The problem lies elsewhere.
  16. Bolton's travails amuse. Owen Coyle has been farting above his weight for a very long time now. Good manager he may be. May not be too. But by fuck does he play the establishment line. He makes my skin crawl.
  17. Killie odds against = excellent value. 5/4 at boylesports is just taking the piss.
  18. The Prosecco was shite but the Henriot was excellent, if not most definitely "lemony" as described. Mate of mine drinks nothing but champagne and whisky (Lagavulin) in the house. I thought "lucky fucker" being able to afford to but I used to smoke Regals and was spending the price of a bottle and a half of damn fine champers a week on death nail cancer sticks. Then I gave up the habit of 3 or 4 pints 3 or 4 nights a week and all of a sudden, between the beer and the fags, I'm needing to go to the bank so much less that I have an extra £100 a week in my pocket. Montaudon champers tonight. Now THIS is the business.
  19. What is "right" doesn't come into it, nor has this concept ever been relevant for small businessmen with big chips and massive ambitions. The accounts prove that AFC plc took the full extent of the damage. The cost of yet another shite appointment was borne by the club, not the chairman.
  20. Like fuck he did. It's all there in the accounts. The club took the hit and there was a further loan from SM to AFC. A loan that needs to be repaid. And another loan from AAM.
  21. Just bought a Henriot that was recommended and a Prosecco Bortolomiol. £50 might sound extravagant but think about it, £25 a head for a full night's bevvying aint bad. I'll no doubt have a small dram efter, during the Sopranos.
  22. Yet another AFC disaster. One day we might get a success story. Paton, Pawlett and Fyvie all promised so muckle. So, so often, it all turns to shit.
  23. She did however have the ability to communicate what she thought. There was no ambiguity.
  24. Tonight's tipple will be mostly Champagne. Wife's birthday. But drinking midweek is not to be commended usually young peeps. And as for beer, I cut it out two or three weeks ago. Not quite as teetotal as I get every January but most definitely scaling back.
  25. OMG, I had heard about this one but hadn't seen it. Worse was another video with some wee kid with a NE England accent commending her. I couldn't watch any more of this sickness. Unbelievable.
