That is Milne's plan. If he walks, we have a bank calling for us to sell Pittodrie (no option) and nowhere to play.

That's a very pleasant wine. A couple of pints for me and now Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache £9.99 from Co-op. Pretty average. Never again.

Interesting bit by Chris Chrichton here: - The day Ian Donald awarded Milne the contract to build the RDS was the root cause of all our ills in the two decades since. It put us in debt for the first time, albeit what should have been a very manageable debt and easily traded out of in the subsequent few years. Milne used his rat-like business cunning and the money owed to him to exploit the weakness of Donald and get himself on to the AFC board. He then lied to the fans and shareholders at the first AGM at the Capitol by saying that "the product"/football would always be our priority. If that was the case, why was he so intent on moving to Kingswells when the paint was barely dry on the massive new stand that he built? Where is the common sense and logic in this? Relocating rather than adding to the brand new purpose-built facility. Then, he managed to mismanage the business to such an extent that the club became a wholly unattractive proposition for others. The debt that he escalated so quickly and so vastly that our principal creditor required a guarantor. This suited Milne's agenda. Truth is, no way no how would a bank foreclose on Milne. They're getting top whack of interest and they know their debt is covered by liquidating our only fixed asset. Managerial appointments under Milne including Director of Football have been disastrous. This matters not to Stewrat. He was so arrogant he thought we'd always show up and pay our dough, irrespective of how shite it was and right up until the end of McGhee and the start of Brown, he was laffin. Now it's gone pear-shaped for him. Oh how we could use that money he pissed on a feasibility study, let alone the ridiculous contract extension buy-out that was never required. Every decision by Milne has been wrong for us, the AFC fans. We were never consulted about a new stadium and Chrichton is right, the majority of us would never have voted for it. We should have been modernising Pittodrie 20 years ago behind the building of the RDS, not seeking to knock it down. This whole thing, as CC says, is an imperialistic notion and as proposed, inaccessibly located. Should never have come to this.

I also find little to dispute with the vast, if not all, the sentiments being expressed on here. A refreshing change compared to another AFC webchatspeaksite, housing an annoying percentage of fucking ignorant fools. It ain't working Craig. You and swearer Knox aren't recruiting right nor preparing and motivating right. Adapt or die. The propoganda spouted from Milne and his sycophantic arselickers is horrific to watch. Who, other than Chrichton, is prepared to say it like it is?

"And with gates dropping more than 3000 below the break-even figure - meaning Aberdeen are losing around £60,000 at every home game - Milne has had to dip into his own pocket to keep the club going". This is a fucking lie. It is a misrepresentation on a disgusting scale. The truth is that any cash that he has put in, he's got something more back. It is my understanding that he paid considerably less per share than we all did at the issues. Any further monies he has put in has been by way of loans which he charged the club interest on at a level well above base rate. He's making money OUT of AFC plc, not putting money in. This further exploitation guarantees the continuing abortion of a balance sheet which fits Milne's agenda in two key objectives:- 1. Nobody can possibly invest in this illiquid business when the size of the debt relative to the break-even or profit potential is already prohibitive. 2. The size of the debt mountain he created and perpetuates means that the business has zero option but to sell it's only asset, Pittodrie. Until, for the first time ever, the balance sheet and P & L shows "donations" in our revenue and income stream then these lies won't pull the wool over our eyes. An absolutely disgusting strategy by Milne and his fawning sycophantic cunts to twist the reality.

Who the fuck are they to hire out Gleneagles? Should have been at the Kings Links or Balnagask the cunts.

If the club were serious...

Milne said, on stage at the Capitol during the AGM, in public, that "the product" would always be the priority. He lied. -

Me neither but if, as he said, Milne's priority was always going to be "the product", his actions totally contradict this: - the wasted time and expense with Kingswells the incredibly poor managerial appointments the increasing debt the negligence of Pittodrie 1.5 non-productive staff to every 1 member of the football staff the hiring of a useless DoF for political reasons only the lack of investment of the £2.2 MILLION profit sanctioning a £600,000 feasibility study granting a contract extension to a man who was never going to get another gig allowing numerous coaches and scouts coming out of our arse tolerating the divisive PR which alienated the fans, which he then admitted in writing He's been selling us down the river. He lied to us in the Capitol in 1996. That's my interpretation and always has been. Milne is, as far as AFC is concerned, a cancer. -

Nobody blamed either of these two. Read it again. -
..then they wouldn't have re-hired Leighton but spent the money on players. They wouldn't have given the fat orange balloon a contract extension. They wouldn't have employed Willie Miller when his wages would have been better spent on players. They would not have employed Miller's mate, Craig Fife Fuck, as a scout. They wouldn't have an extraordinary number of non-productive staff on the books all draining resource that could have been spent on players. They would have tried to increase customer numbers, not devastate it beyond redemption. It's obvious that football, "the product" is not Milne's priority. He lied to us at the Capitol. Add to the list here.

Lol. he was old when he ran off with that 20 something lassie, decades ago. Her parents must've been proud. Doesn't matter who the manager is. Under the corrupt Miller and Milne, it can't work.
-
Rage? That left me a long, long time ago. Milne's been taking the piss. He's going to regret all this one day. Can't see the greedy cunt fixing it.
-
Desperate excuses in desperate times from desperate people at a desperately failing football club. Milne's sitting pretty though.
-
This club is fucking dead and rotten.

You've fucked the club royally, small bald man on a mission. Thanks. We're watching.... -
It has long been my contention that Milne was the constant problem at AFC. Sacrilege, they said, when I dared criticise his flak jacket, William Miller. Calderwood was a prick. McGhee wasn't up to the job. Brown can not succeed under this regime. Every appointment made by Milne has failed. Every single one. How many failed managers is that now? Aitken, Hegarty, Alex Miller, Ebbe, Pele + the last three. Something ain't right people. Pressure should have been brought to bear a long time ago.

Ok, let's build it, furnish it and heat it for decades in the remote possibility that a major event MIGHT come instead of using the 4 or 5 years window of notice to extend or rebuild an original more appropriate clubhouse, not that size of clubhouse is at all relevant for hosting major events. One that feels empty doesn't taste very good. Castle Stuart and Kingsbarns got it right. Trump is getting it very, very wrong.
-
The viability of the golf courses and clubhouse, if built on the scale that I can imagine it will be, is hard to see. Unless Trump knows something we don't, the main course will be empty for more than six months of the year, let alone the second course. It is not possible to golf all year round in the North East. Where Kingsbarns got it right and close November through March, they've got a considerably different climate to ours and a clubhouse which is understated and perfectly proportioned for the maximum amount of golfers who are likely to be there at any one time. For the Dunhill, they erect a marquee and cater for everyone brilliantly. If Trump, as he inevitably will, builds a massive monolith of a clubhouse, how can it possibly pay for itself? It will be 90% empty for 99% of the time. The plan was always to build houses and take the profit from that, I thought, but who in Scotland would want to live on the Menie Estate? I have no idea where the Donald's customers are coming from, neither golf nor residential, or certainly, where enough of them might come from to prevent this being a white elephant.
-
My prediction is that the clubhouse will be ugly, severely ugly. It will be externally imposing and will look completely out of character with the locale. Inside, it will be ostentatious and BIG with high ceilings and over-the-top drapes and decor. Any feeling of comfort or ambience will not be experienced by anyone of sound mental health. It will be an embarrassment of excess.

Awkwardness, it appears. A tall poppy is someone who has achieved and/or who is successful. They stand above the crowd. The chopping down of the tall poppy is a national sport in Australia and the UK. Fleet Street is built on it. Disparaging remarks towards the tall poppy is based on jealousy. The sick get a kick from a tall poppy being chopped down. It allows them to kid themselves by saying "see, they weren't any better than me".

To site the windfarm adjacent to "the Great Doons of Scatland" is unfortunate. Those dunes have been there for a long time. It's just they weren't called that before a man from the new country pointed out what we had missed, their absolute greatness. We should all be thankful to The Donald. He comes across as a really nice man and he's only doing it for us, the people of the North East. He also pointed out that Forbes' property is "a slum" so between this, the doons and the turbines, it's quite obvious that aesthetics is where he is particularly astute. His hair is another indicator that he is better than us with his eye for beauty, the youthful bouffant being the envy of us all.
-
I wonder if the tall poppy syndrome is as pronounced in mainland Europe? I am certain that USA has considerably less as they tend to like to see a winner but I'll bow to those who have more experience of being in the states than I have, who has never been there more than 10 days max at a time and has never lived there.
-
I assure you this is by choice, qualified choice. Until I set up my own colony though, I need to escape. Often. Scots are shite. And beautiful. I should have been a Slovenian or a Pole. Thank fuck I wasn't English or German. Jingo Bngo.

Not sure about your deductive processes but the 24 years spent elsewhere have now been exceeded by the total years spent living in the North East and as my next birthday is #50, it is statistically certain to say that the majority of my life has been NE. More certain is that this slightly greater than 50% percentage will grow year on year as I won't ever be leaving the NE ever. Love people, not places.
