Philip Neville was talking today about Dawn Scott, the person he appointed. He spoke particularly about the need to treat women footballers differently and cited menstrual cycles!!!

It never occurred to me that AFC would take the women's side into the same business. I just assumed it would be a separate division and a totally separate legal entity, although if under a holding company, certain costs could be shared.

I have no problem with women footballers getting paid MORE than the men. I just don't see anyone paying it because I can't imagine that the product would be interesting enough to sufficient people for there to be enough money in the women's game to pay commensurate wages. By all means encourage participation levels. The market value will determine itself. The only barrier to income levels will be the money available and compared to the men, it's going to be considerably less.

Jim White was saying Athletico the whole time. It fucking bugs me how thick some cunts are. It's disrespectful to be this stupid too.

The promotion of women's football, like rugby and cricket, is based on values that are flawed. Equality of opportunity does not equal equality in performance. Facts are indisputable. Men and women ARE different. The culture of denial of this simple truth is agenda-driven and it's already leading to discomfort and confusion. That we - both sexes - can enter the same toilets in the revamped Art Gallery is disturbing enough for adults but listen to the girls at the NE schools who have to endure the same "equality". Fortunately my kids are old enough to have passed through school before this madness came in. Encouraging kids to entertain changing their gender however is a step beyond the pale. It's like giving 10% of parking spaces for the 2% who are disabled. The transgender is a human but he/she is less than a fraction of 0.1% historically. Now everyone has the "right" to deny their biology and this goes way beyond the "rights" of the small minority who were wired up wrong that they fancy the same sex. There have always been oddballs and weirdos and whilst they shouldn't have to live in the closet, the minorities shouldn't be granted the front and centre ground over the vast majority of us.

4-4 now!!!

If you shoot for the moon and fail, chances are you'll end up amongst the stars. When you shoot for the stars and fail, you don't get out of your own atmosphere.

AFC has been polluted by the wrong men. For the whole of this century, it's been run by a midget bald shit who's agenda wasn't the football and in the whole of his time, he's employed football managers who have not been fit for purpose, the current incumbent being a midget bearded shit of equal charlatanism. The fact he's even talking about third as some sort of achievement and validation is tragic enough. I must've missed the outstanding recruitment that Gerrard did in the summer for them to pull so far ahead of us this year? Maybe it's my imagination that Aberdeen have a better head-to-head record v. Gerrard for the last two seasons? Even more sad are the happy clapping arseholes among us who sided with Milne, who never saw what was going on and who have faith in McInnes despite SEVEN FUCKING YEARS of evidence to chew on. Christ they were singing his name at Hampden twice last season! Aberdeen got the club they deserved and if you think that the biggest snake oil salesman ever to come out of the North East is going to change it, you've got another think coming.
-
When DM said in his interview after the Hamilton win that we WILL be third at the end of the season, it was as surprising to me as it was sad. It was totally out of character and in three months time, we will see if his confidence was well founded.

Albion v. Elgin won't be as good as the fitba we get on the telly but it is indeed infinitely better than women attempting to play the beautiful game. But as I said, only people who understand fitba know how commercially unviable the women's game is and always will be, even after the joke organisation that is UEFA tries to throw money at it. It will be championed by fools, perverts, voyeurs and saddos and under the joke that is gender equality, it might even make the news occasionally. But get those women to fuck commenting on the male game. Bianca's lovely but most of them are a fucking travesty, particularly the Scottish weirdos.
-
No interest from me. Ever. The product isn't worth watching. It will be of interest to women, the families of the players, pervert voyeur types and saddos but to anyone who understands the game, women's fitba has zero appeal. It's a hobby for odd girls and there is zero business potential. They're even showing women's rugby and women's cricket these days. This is the gender equality lobby gone mad.

Very unlucky to lose. Best performance v. Celtic for a very long time. They were poor and we didn't create much but the combination of the swirling wind and excellent fight from AFC kept the champions from dominating the game. Well done AFC and hard cheese ?

As the only Cove Rangers fan on this forum, a newly-developed status formed less than 24 hours ago, I'm tuning in to the game at Pittodrie the now. Good luck to you Dons fans. Although I'd prefer Sevco not to win the league so I don't really wish you good luck as this is a meaningless game for you.

Not in England the noo but a regular in this thread, an English manager in Holland is being found out already. I can't understand what the people at Den Haag were thinking giving Pardew the gig. Relegation definites now I'd wager.
-
As you NE residents know, its a horrendous day of weather but a good occasion to pop my Cove cherry ? Top of the table clash which will show character, or a lack thereof. Only the postponement will save me going. I'll be spewing if it gets abandoned.

For Sama. An incredible film, Oscar-nominated. We can be guilty of thinking that Syria is far away and forgetting about the human cost. This brings it front and centre and smacks us right in the soul. Despite the horror of reality that is in every pore of this docu-drama, it's an eerily beautiful film. Sama is a gorgeous baby, Waad the mother probably the most beautiful woman I've ever seen but the courage of them all and the work that Hamed performs in unfathomably horrific conditions is a phenomenal testament to the human spirit. You think you've got problems? Check this out. Humanity at its best and worst. Gripping, moving, tragic and beautiful all in the same 96 minutes.

Runners up medals are absurd in football. Perhaps for all team sports. I wouldn't want to keep them either. Although the only fitba final I lost in - the AFC Trophy the first year it was NOT played at Pttodrie (Porterfield got the blame) - they didn't hand out medals for the losers. Individual sports are different. I was proud of my first medal aged 8, a swimming bronze against kids older and bigger than me but the silvers and golds looked and tasted better when they came. The person who thought we should give medals to beaten finalists in football was a loser himself. Fucking ridiculous notion.

Parasite. OMFG. Just a crazy film like nothing we've seen before. Our youngest recommended it last night and was desperate to learn what we thought, texting 5 or 10 minutes before it had finished. She then asked for marks out of 10 and I said 7 or 10, still deciding. I can understand it winning the Palm D'Or but best film Oscar was surprising. It was very good and I do recommend it to others. Just go in with an open mind and you'll need to because it's going to paint some interesting new pictures on you. It hits on many different levels, some of which we don't notice until someone else tells us. Don't read critics reviews in advance. I'm pleased I didn't but will definitely seek them out now. It's wild, and very well acted.

Holy fuck. I never knew this until your post. Looked at the HT scores and just assumed the worst, whilst focusing on all three of my picks in a treble failing to win. Doh! Beautiful beautiful beautiful. I hate the less than 10 year old Sevco more than I hate the 142 year old Celtic, and I really can't stand thae fuckers.

It wouldn't shock me if Aberdeen got something on Sunday and saved the bookies a lot of money. That's the thing about McInnes v. Sevco. Just when the form book suggests we should get humped, he has pulled five rabbits out of the hat v. them in the last two seasons but unfortunately never against Celtic. It's like when his back is right against the wall, his players produce. But it's not getting to the wall and producing a greater consistency in performance that separates the best from the rest. AFC are too dreadful too often over the piece.
-
Yes Considine played in two great balls for goals 1 and 3 but he's employed mainly for defence and that's what he'll be exclusively required for on Sunday. Did we not see that he fucked up for their goal last night? Did it not matter because the game was already won? He's been a great servant and has great heart but for the majority of his 500+ games, he's been played in the wrong position by successively shit managers. I fear a thrashing at Pittodrie coming up precisely because we will be defending the vast majority of the time and guys like him aren't good enough at it.

Interesting comments from the wee man pre and post match this week. Before the match he described the AFC supporters comments and opinions as "noise". Like we know fuck all and he knows best. There's been vocal criticism of him and he doesn't like it. I heard there was an altercation in the "red shed" on Saturday and some guys were thrown out, the dispute being opinions of the manager. Post match, where we deservedly lost the second half v. a very shit opposition, he was buoyed enough to say "we will be third at the end of the season", a welcome and rare expression of confidence and courage from the midget cunt. Of course Kris Boyd was consistent, saying that we should be careful what we wish for etc. etc. and lauding him "that's why he's on the big bucks" but his opinion doesn't count. He's another "Rangers man" who hates Aberdeen almost as much as I hate him and those stupid rounded collars and waistcoats he wears. It's in his interests to have a weak AFC and the cunt actually said last night that "the days of Aberdeen challenging Rangers and Celtic are over". It's understandable that that cretin thinks that. It's unacceptable that our manager feels this way too.

And scores his second 8 minutes later!

The weather is not conducive to good football. It's been pretty terrible standard with passes going astray and much hoofball BUT the quality of the goals were superb, not just the executions but the build ups. There has literally only been three pieces of quality in the game. Templeton missed a one-to-one in 5 minutes and then Hamilton never showed again, other than showing everyone why they've let in so many goals recently.
